My name is Mircsy (pronounced as "Mer-chee"), she/her, I'm trying to be a friendly neighbourhood self-taught artist, animator, writer etc. I'm an INTJ, but don't let that scare you off LMAO If you find anything incorrect in my texts that's because my first language is not English :) A little about me: I have a more and less healthy obsession over Ezio Auditore da Firenze and (the real) Leonardo da Vinci. Most of my fanarts and animatics are about EPIC: The Musical and/or Greek mythology, I'm most familiar with the Trojan War's generation. I have numerous original characters and a whole (work in progress) original story about them. That being said, other than drawing I write a lot as well. An important lesson so many of us need to hear nowadays. Hvítrulv teaches Dalias to live, even though he by human standards is centuries old.

They have many conversations in a specific window. Slowly getting to know each other. Opening up always more and more… And Hvítrulv is always able to suprise Dalias with his pieces of mind. A perfect glance into how these conversations go usually. And how the two slowly convert from enemies to friends to, eventually, soul mates.

Hello Mircsy!

I found you through Epic the Musical animations, and I love your monster design for the cyclops! How do you come up with interesting character designs like that? Yours is like the only really unique cyclops I've seen.

I was bored of the classic interpretation, plus wanted something that fits EPIC’s fantasy theme, and something that foreshadows that Polyphemus is Poseidon’s child. So the idea of the hooves came to me quickly. For the head my concept was that I wanted something unnatural or rare to find in nature (can be found mostly just in plants) thus the vertical eye and mouth, and the skin layer that opens like a venus flytrap. For the rest I kind of just let my hand and subconscious do its job while keeping in mind that I must be as far as classic designs as possible. Since you have to know the rules before you break them.

It was definitely a gamble, 50-50 chance whether people would like it or not. But I’d rather create something I like than deny myself and appeal to others (unless they commission me or I’m in a group project)

Stretching my artist limits and comfortzone by illustrating one of my very dearest scenes to me from Hvítrulv’s Diary in a painting style, experimenting with grayscale colorizing and high contrast lights.

Time to get better!

Hvítrulv’s Diary as for now is a bunch of short incoherent scenes that serve as a side (explaining) story for my main original story. It is a first person, retrospective narrative starting from Hvítrulv’s childhood. We get to learn his Nordic heritage, how he changed from a fierce, fire-y warrior who fought in the troops of Ivar the Boneless into an unconfident, fake-smiling slave who had to learn again to be genuine to himself.

Although, in the book the scene is set a bit differently, this composition allowed me to break some fourth wall, which I always find exciting. It popped into my mind while being bored over university projects, and had me let out some steam from mandatory tasks that I really had enough of already 🥲

But only half a month left! And I can work on whatever I want in the summer💪

tumblr verification scam

(No, not that tumblr verification; this one is being run by bad actors we can’t point out, as opposed to by tumblr itself.)

I got a mention earlier today from @ system-updates-some-long-number-tumblr-helpfully-truncated (helpfully for the scammer, that is!)

(Which was patently false, because the same post that likely attracted the scammer’s attention continued to get likes and reblogs!)

The comment mentioning me and 4 other accounts was one of 73 comments the scammer had made on their post:

(Ignore the weird line; apparently I dragged my finger across the image when switching the screenshot to full-page mode 😂)

I immediately reported the post to tumblr and blocked the scammer, but hours later, the post is still up and replies have increased! Beware!

And if there is one account doing this, you can bet there are others 😳

Suggest names to my little beaver-wolf-eagle-somehornedanimal hybrid! 😆 In the last few days I decided to rebrand my Patreon (while it’s still small) to be more connected to this creature, and I was wondering if you guys had a name for it? It can be real, fantasy, serious or silly. The more there are the funner it will be.

I will choose three favourite (if there will be enough names lol) and make a little poll of it ^^

I hid Athena’s head and a hound in the background, also you can discover Thetis’ tail and other parts of her. Achilles is holding his spear as if he was playing an instrument.

This illustration took me several months to complete.I’ve been busy with animation school, especially working on my 2D thesis short film with my classmates, so I’m really happy to finally finish it and share it. I really wanted to explore more dramatic compositions and symbolism in my illustrations. The piece was also heavily inspired by The Water is Fine (Crimson Edition), by Chloe Ament , a song I deeply love that fits my characters’ stories so well.It represents a scene from my story, featuring my own version of the Greek god Poseidon and Sekhmet from the Egyptian mythology.I hope you like it. I can’t wait to share more about these characters soon especially an animatic I’ve made that I’m planning to clean and post on YouTube this summer when my school year will be over. I don’t say it enough, but thank you so much for your patience and for the lovely comments on my art. It truly means a lot.
