Around the Sims 3 | Heatwave
A tiny set to say: I'm sorry to be late with my updates, they will be all delayed by 7 days, I haven't used my computer for a week due to the insane heatwave we had in France (41°C/106°F during days, still 30°C/86°F at midnight or 1:00 am, which is just CRAZY for the place where I live)
That tiny set will be released on Around the Sims 3 the 31st 24th of July
It’s available in early access for all Patreons right now.
European friends, stay cool, we're not yet out of the hell of these temps. Southern hemisphere friends, I hope you're enjoying winter! Friends from all over the world, I hope you're well!!! Hearts on you all!
🍎This mod adds more realistic schoolwork responsibilities for child and teen Sims. Instead of school performance being based mostly on regular homework, students can now receive extra assignments after school that must be completed at home before the next school day.
🍎These assignments include studying for tests, writing book reports, completing Home Economics projects, and completing Art class projects. Studying can be completed on the computer or via the homework book. The mod is designed to make children and teens feel more like active students with school obligations outside of the classroom.
🍎Completing assignments improves school performance, while ignoring them lowers school performance.
How Assignments Work
🍎Each child or teen student has a chance to receive one school assignment after school.
🍎By default, the mod checks for assignments between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
🍎Each selectable child or teen has a 60% chance per Sim day to receive one assignment. A Sim can only have one active assignment at a time.
🍎Assignments are due the next school day. The Sim will not immediately receive a grade result after completing the work. Instead, the result is processed after the Sim arrives at school the next day.
Assignment Types
The mod can assign four types of school responsibilities:
🍎Tests
Students may be assigned a test and must study before school the next day.
🖍️Children may receive tests in:
Math
Science
Literature
History
🖍️Teens may receive tests in:
Algebra
Calculus
Biology
World History
To complete a test assignment, click the Sim’s homework book or a computer and choose the study interaction under the School Responsibilities menu.
🍎Book Reports
🖍️Students may be assigned a book report that must be written at home.
🖍️Children receive shorter book reports with lighter topics.
🖍️Teens receive longer and more dramatic book reports inspired by funny real-life 2000s movie-style themes, such as popularity drama, sparkly vampires, pirates, teen romance, dance battles, and school hallway chaos.
🖍️To complete a book report, click the Sim’s homework book or a computer and choose the book report interaction under the School Responsibilities menu.
🍎Home Economics Projects
🖍️Students may be assigned a Home Economics project.
🖍️The assignment notification will tell the player that the Sim needs to cook something at home and bring food to school in their inventory.
🖍️To complete the project, the Sim should cook food at home and have the finished food in their inventory before going to school the next day.
🖍️If the Sim arrives at school with food in their inventory, the project should count as completed.
🍎Art Projects
🖍️Students may be assigned an Art class project.
🖍️The assignment notification will tell the player that the Sim needs to paint something and bring the finished painting to school in their inventory.
🖍️To complete the project, the Sim should create a painting and have the finished painting or canvas in their inventory before going to school the next day.
🖍️If the Sim arrives at school with an art project in their inventory, the project should count as completed.
Where to Find the Interactions
The mod adds a School Responsibilities menu to several objects.
🍎Homework Book
Click the Sim’s homework book and look for:
School Responsibilities...
Possible options include:
Study for Upcoming Test
Write Book Report
The available interaction depends on the Sim’s current assignment.
🍎Computer
Click a computer and look for:
School Responsibilities...
Possible options include:
Study for Upcoming Test
Write Book Report
The available interaction depends on the Sim’s current assignment.
🍎Fridge
Click a fridge and look for:
School Responsibilities...
Possible option:
Cook Home Ec Project
This appears when the Sim has a Home Ec project assigned.
🍎Easel
Click an easel and look for:
School Responsibilities...
Possible option:
Paint Art Class Project
This appears when the Sim has an Art project assigned.
School Performance Results
Assignment results happen only after the Sim gets to school the next day.
🖍️If the assignment was completed
The Sim receives a positive notification saying they passed the test, did well on the book report, or turned in the project successfully.
Their school performance increases.
🖍️If the assignment was not completed
The Sim receives a negative notification saying they failed the test, forgot the project, or did not turn in the assignment.
Their school performance decreases.
Fun Motive Changes
Like real life, schoolwork reduces Fun while the Sim is actively working.
🖍️Default Fun reductions:
Studying for tests: small Fun decrease
Child book reports: moderate Fun decrease
Teen book reports: slightly stronger Fun decrease
Home Ec and Art projects: small Fun decrease
This is meant to make school responsibilities feel like work without heavily punishing the Sim.
Assignment Frequency
🍎 By default, each child or teen student has a 60% chance per day to receive one school responsibility assignment.
🖍️The possible assignment types are weighted like this:
45% chance the assignment is a test
30% chance the assignment is a book report
13% chance the assignment is a Home Ec project
12% chance the assignment is an Art project
🖍️Since the daily assignment chance is 60%, the real daily chances are approximately:
27% chance of a test
18% chance of a book report
7.8% chance of a Home Ec project
7.2% chance of an Art project
40% chance of no assignment
These values can be adjusted in the tuning file which will be provided separately with this mod in xml format.
Tips:
For relaxed gameplay, leave the assignment chance at 60% or lower it to 30–40%.
For stricter school gameplay, increase the assignment chance to 80–100% and increase the performance penalty for missed work.
Important Gameplay Notes
The mod only assigns school responsibilities to child and teen Sims who are enrolled in school.
Boarding school Sims are ignored.
Non-selectable Sims are ignored by the assignment generator.
Assignment results are only processed when the Sim is at school.
A Sim cannot receive a new assignment while they already have an active assignment.
The mod does not replace regular homework. Regular homework still works normally.
A collaboration between me and @destrospean! This overhauls sim teeth and replaces them with brand new 3D versions, with lots of different variations to choose from in-game! 😄🦷 More info and download below 😊

Hiking Skill
Hiking is a 6 level skill, and is primarily gained by sims going on hikes under the new “Hiking…” pie menu option on the Campground Map.
There is also a new hiking skill class available at the Stadium rabbithole for §300.
As your sim increases their hiking skill, they will unlock longer hikes and the ability to hike at night.
Going on hikes also raises a sim’s athletic skill, albeit slower than a traditional workout.
Sims who get hungry while hiking will automatically eat, though there is a chance that what they eat may make them Nauseous or fall into a Dark Slumber (poisoned).
Sims with low bladder need will “go in nature,” but they also have a chance of getting the Itchy or Poisoned moodlet after the fact.
If a sim becomes too tired, too hot, or too cold, they will abandon the hike early.
Hiking cooldowns vary depending on how long the sim’s hike took to complete and give sims the Fatigued moodlet.
Sims with the Athletic or Adventurous traits, or with a high Athletic skill will have their hiking cooldown cut in half.
Child sims with the Scouting skill (if The Sims 3: Generations is installed) will get a boost in the hiking skill when they age into teens.
Day hikes can take place between 8:00am and 8:00pm, and night hikes can take place between 8:00pm and 4:00am.
Sims can only hike in sunny weather or during a reviving sprinkle (if The Sims 3: Supernatural is installed), unless they have completed the Seasoned Hiker skill challenge.
Sims cannot hike when it is actively snowing or when there is snow on the ground.
By completing the Expert Hiker skill challenge can lead Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced hikes during the day to earn extra simoleons.
Upon successfully completing a hike, sims will have a 2% chance of finding a gnome and a 1% chance of finding a genie lamp.
Hiking Skill Unlock Levels
Level 1: Beginner Hike
Level 2: Beginner Night Hike
Level 3: Intermediate Hike
Level 4: Intermediate Night Hike
Level 5: Advanced Hike
Level 6: Advanced Night Hike
Collectibles
While out hiking, sims have a 30% chance of finding collectibles of varying rarities like gems, metals, space rocks, insects, and wildflowers.
Certain traits or occult states can either increase or decrease your chance of finding collectibles by 5% (note: this value stacks the more traits or occult states your sim has):
Increased Chance - Lucky, Gatherer, and Loves The Outdoors
Decreased Chance - Unlucky, Loser, and Hates The Outdoors
Night Owls, Vampires, and Werewolves also have a 5% higher chance of finding collectibles on night hikes.
Day hikes and night hikes each have their own set of collectibles that can be found.
Additionally, the longer the hike, the higher the chance of your sim finding rarer collectibles.
All wildflowers can only be found during the day, and the same space rocks can be found both during the day and at night.
A full list of collectibles can be found on the download page under the header “Collectibles.”
Foraging
Sims can go foraging using the “Forage” interaction on the Campground Map.
Going foraging will give sims a 30% chance to find harvestables, seeds, and honey/beeswax.
Certain traits, skills, or occult states can either increase or decrease your chance of successfully foraging by 5% (note: this value stacks the more traits, skills, or occult states your sim has):
Increased Chance Traits - Lucky, Gatherer, Loves The Outdoors, Green Thumb (or Gardening skill level 5 or higher), and Super Green Thumb (lifetime reward)
Decreased Chance Traits - Unlucky, Loser, and Hates The Outdoors
Night Owls, Vampires, and Werewolves also have a 5% higher chance of finding harvestables while foraging at night.
Sims can forage during the day or at night for 2, 4 or 6 hours at a time, with day foraging and night foraging yielding different harvestables/seeds.
Sims who get hungry while foraging will automatically eat, though there is a chance that what they eat may make them Nauseous or fall into a Dark Slumber (poisoned).
Sims with low bladder need will “go in nature,” but they also have a chance of getting the Itchy or Poisoned moodlet after the fact.
If a sim becomes too tired, too hot, or too cold, they will abandon foraging early.
Foraging cooldowns vary depending on how long the sim’s foraging took to complete and give sims the Fatigued moodlet.
Foraging also carries a 2% risk of contracting Botinitus Minorous, which will turn your sim into a PlantSim.
Upon successfully completing foraging, sims will have a 2% chance of finding a gnome and a 1% chance of finding a genie lamp.
A full list of foraging harvestables/seeds can be found on the download page under the header “Foraging.”
Ailments, Injuries, Fear, and Insects
Both hiking and foraging have a chance of giving your sims different ailments or injuries, scaring them, or giving them encounters with insects.
When hiking, there is a 25% chance of a sim developing an ailment, a 40% chance of injury, a 35% chance of fear, and a 25% chance they encounter insects.
When foraging, there is a 40% chance of a sim developing an ailment, a 25% chance of injury, a 35% chance of fear, and a 25% chance they encounter insects.
All of the possible ailment, injury, fear, and insect moodlets are listed below:
Decreased Chance - Lucky and Athletic (or Athletic skill level 5 or higher)
Increased Chance - Unlucky, Loser, Childish, Clumsy, Coward, Absent Minded, and Hates the Outdoors sims have a higher chance.
Note: If a sim is wearing mosquito repellent (from The Sims 3: Island Paradise), they will not get bitten by mosquitos while hiking or foraging.
Certain moodlets like Bee Attack, On Fire, and Terrified will end a sim’s hike early.
Chance of Death
There is also a 5% chance of a sim dying while hiking via drowning, burning to death, or blunt force trauma.
Certain traits, skills, and moodlets can either increase or decrease your chance of death by 5% (note: this value stacks):
Increased Chance - Unlucky, Clumsy, Absent Minded, Loser, Daredevil, Hates the Outdoors, and Tired moodlet
Decreased Chance - Lucky, Athletic (or Athletic skill level 5 or higher), Adventurous, Brave, and Hiking Skill (level 4 or higher)
Note: There is no chance of death while foraging.
Tuning
All of the tunable values can be found on the mod download page under the header “Tuning.”
Conflicts & Known Issues
This is a new script mod so there shouldn’t be any conflicts.
Uninstallation
Same as with other custom skills, removing the hiking skill may cause issues in saves where the skill has been used. I have created a new cheat called “uninstallHikingMod” to remove the hiking skill from any sims in the world and cancel all hiking interactions that may be active, but use this mod with caution.

Hey all. I know all of us use the late-great cmar's Skintone Picker Panel extension so we can use all the skins we have in our game without the vanilla EA UI bugging out.
I went in and edited this file for funsies, and with the helpful edits by cmar decided to expand the skin picker grid from 5x5 to 10x10. Idk if anyone wants to use this fr but here it is just in case :)
If you want to make edits of your own, I did leave notes in the file to help you navigate. :p
Pretty much only works with computers with resolutions with the height OVER 960
Download 10x10 [RESOLUTION HEIGHT OVER 960] version here: https://simfileshare.net/filedetails/6147748/
If you have a resolution with a height under 960px, the UI will overlap on the lower part of the UI, so I made a 8x6 version!
Download 8x6 [RESOLUTION HEIGHT UNDER 960] version here: https://simfileshare.net/filedetails/6147749/
I do not know what's gonna happen to you if you have Tiny UI Fix!!!!!
Install by placing .package file in your Packages or Overrides folder!
Another batch of blushes / tear troughs, jowls, facial folds/ for your Sims. And one eyeliner.
Download: SFS | BOX
Textures are DXT5 format, mostly 512x512 px
*You can enable or disable makeup for various ages / genders with Outfit Organizer.
Enjoy!
(makeup dump II is here)
*This is for THE SIMS 2
I've somehow missed marionette jowls, but these are also included.
Icon preview features two types of reddish under-eye shadows, but one is missing and I'm not sure what happened to the file well I deleted it, what else.
It's all universal, but looks best on skintones S2 - S4.
I rarely do 'real' makeup, there's so much of it around, but I needed an eyeliner that goes over waterlines, and this one does that. As you can see above, a part of the waterline is still visible. I avoid 1024x1024 face textures but this just couldn't be any smaller :S
These skin details are very good, and I mean like next level 👍👍👍 They look natural and are visible from a medium-close distance without looking painted on. Really give shape to a face!
22 years later, give your Sims 2 kitchens a pantry.
As I hinted at with my club counter mapping fix, I've been invested in a long-term-want-to-do-this-one-day project the last week or so. Pantries. ALL the pantries.
Dusting off my very meagre and rusty Blender skills, I have made some things for you all.
All pics and details below.
The value kitchen gets a pantry at 2 heights - lower (for more generic cupboard vibes) and ceiling height.
Quaint kitchen looking cute. This one is ceiling height
One of my favourites, the Epikouros set, also ceiling height
The "blue ribbon" seasons country kitchen gets a non-ceiling height pantry cos I wanted the pretties on top.
Chiclettina Fjord, at ceiling height (get yourself a non-blue glass default though, it looks better I promise)
The University Industrial Steelate kitchen also gets 2 height variations because I could see these cupboards being useful in a variety of different settings and thought options might be nice (medical cabinets maybe?)
Forbidden fruit, just ceiling height
The club kitchen, also just ceiling height, and make sure you grab my counter mapping fix cos it makes these counters look SO much nicer
The "Fat City" kitchen, ceiling height only. This is actually a really nice kitchen set with some nice recolours.
Castanoga, only ceiling height. This one was the bane of my existence and definitely the hardest one to get right.
Mission, which I wasn't gonna do cos I NEVER use this kitchen, but I thought others might like it. That pantry is at ceiling height.
Surfaco, probably the most underrated Maxis kitchen IMO. Ceiling height only here.
Neo Quartzo which again... I was gonna skip, but I thought, maybe some people use this kitchen sometimes? idk lol, not me... Ceiling height only.
Romantic wood 😍 I love this one. Not quite ceiling height, again for the pretty loopdey bit on top.
And Chez Moi, also a really tricky one to get right. Ceiling height.
These counters did not get a matching pantry:
Sorry 🙈🙈 If you REALLY DESPERATELY need one... yeah, nah, idk. Maybe I'll do a tiki one, but the others, nope. lol.
All pantries are located in surfaces / misc and cost the same $$ as their matched counter. They are all decorative only. I would love if someone smarter and more capable than me could turn them into functional "snack cupboards" but I lack the know how. So if you're inspired to do it, please be my guest!!
Some of the pantry meshes still have some small issues with normals (MY NEMESIS!!) but I want to give a huge shoutout and thank you to @gummilutt and @morepopcorn for fixing some of them for me, and Poppy particularly for helping me understand how to actually deal with normals in Blender. I really tried and I did improve the meshes a lot as I went.
All pantries were cloned from CTNutmegger's set of upper cabinets, so credits to them. These were occasionally a little "interesting" to work with, but again, I tried my best. And if you need some upper cabinets, you can download those and they should match fairly well. Otherwise, I recommend @nixedsims's Counter Completers and Mutske's kitchen addons too.
Oh, and it should go without saying that these are all repo'd to the Maxis counters so will pick up any recolours you've got 🤗
With that said, if you'd like them, here's the link!
Playing with the new Kayaking Mod V.1 by @omedapixel
I've wanted kayaks in game ever since I started working on Tørsvall, and when TS4 included it with Adventure Awaits, I could finally make it
Thank you for this @omedapixel As usual, this is another superb mod from this creator. Wow. How much fun is this? I like to Kayak in real life, so I colored the kayak the same color as my kayak in real life. The satisfaction level 10/10. This is another great day in the simmiverse. I REALLY REALLY hope they can add fishing to it someday like they were talking about in their post. I LOVE fishing from boats in Sims 3. But I AM NOT COMPLAINING. This is a great, long-awaited addition to the game. Happy day!
Hej vänner! Welcome to Yorkshire, where you'll find one of Northumbria's biggest trading ports, plenty of farms ready for the taking and, if you're lucky, perhaps you'll get to meet a member from the original Great Heathen Army. However, if you're a Saxon or have some sort of quarrel with Northern folk, then we recommend you turn around and walk away before you're spotted by a Ragnarsson. If you're still reading this then it means you're not a foe so please, make yourself at home! Drink some mead at the tavern, enjoy a fight at the old Roman Colisseum or invade a neighboring farm to settle in! Warning: the King takes no responsibility of any robbery, killing or kidnapping you may experience when walking near the old watch tower.
>Okay so first things first: 1) this is a CC heavy world, it works fine for me and most of the cc are tsm conversions but low poly cc is still cc. 2) I am *not* going to link the cc used in each building, but I included some of the lots in .sims3pack format so you can get all the required cc from them (you don't need to place the lots, but I recommend downloading them if only to get the cc objects and patterns), though I did include the walls I used in the city. 3) all lots are mostly shells! I'm going to share updates of them if I actually decorate them, but otherwise feel free to furnish them!
>All relevant information is under the cut + some notes about the lots.
>DOWNLOAD< (always free on patreon)
General Information;
-This is a big world and if you download it you will notice it has a familiar shape aka this is literally an emptied and greener Al Simhara :p
-I have all dlcs, but I think you should be good if you only have World Adventures and Supernatural (for a tree lol). I also used some items from Monte Vista (the ampitheatre) and Dragon Valley (the ruins, the well of wisdom, most of the tombstones, the dragon shaped roof decor, the "lofty roof lantern" and the ornate door) but I got them all from blamseastore!
-I also included a save file, which doesn't add much to the save but some of the lots were added or edited after I installed the world in my game so I recommend you download it as it solves some issues with missing content/has all the proper Nrass Settings!
-This world is currently on beta because I want to build some more lots and hopefully finish it: this means half of it is pretty empty and maybe not so functional, but I think it's great to take pictures!
-As mentioned above, the lots are mostly empty. The only sort of functional lot is Skårr's Witch Hut, but the rest are empty or decorated but not made functional. / Do feel free to change or furnish any lot, though! Some lots have little stories related to my sims as I built them thinking of them, but obviously you can forge your own story (;
About the lots;
-Jorvík's Stave Church: Built as a place where your sims can worship the Gods, though I decided to place a shell rug so it also works as a city hall/military/police station.
-Jorvik Castle: A not very historically accurate "roman" castle, I meant to furnish it many times but I get lazy just looking at all the rooms lol The church is decorated as a throne room for the King (who in my save's lore is a Viking, hence the decoration) and it also has a functional kitchen!
-Ravensburg Longhouse & Market: The longhouse is a residential lot which includes the actual longhouse, a few tiny huts on the side and a small graveyard. / The market is set as a small market mainly so sims can easily go through it to reach Ravensburg, but it has a bunch of little huts which can be your sim's new home.
-Ragnar Lothbrok's Tomb: An actual tomb! There's not much to be done in it and naturally it contains a mummy which I couldn't customize but that lowkey fits the lore for that place (aka that actual Ragnar is not buried there because he's not dead), you can at least get a few gold coins from there hehe
