For those of you who have been missing my CR fanart (some of you have asked, I'm so sorry), there's some wild news: I'm actually being paid to do it now!
I had the huge honour to provide illustrations for both the soldiers and seekers table recaps on C4 -- and what an amazing story is being woven for us.
These characters mean so much to me already, so to be trusted with them like this is honestly surreal.
love when an absolute nightmare of a character is introduced and all you can think is "jesus christ buddy what the hell is your problem" and the narrative gives you a hot minute to stew before explaining Exactly what is Their Problem. and you just sorta sit back in your metaphorical rocking chair and think "huh. yeah okay fair. that would do this to a person, yes."
elaborating on the post i made last night, women’s hockey is where it’s at if you watched heated rivalry and want to see it happen irl!!!
the montreal victoire have a married couple on a line together (captain marie-philip poulin and assistant laura stacey), which led to this iconic line. and yes that’s them wearing shirts of it at their bachelorette party
as for RIVALRIES let’s talk about the OGs, captain of the american team julie chu and captain of the canadian team caroline oullette, who now are married and have children together!! they played against each other in THREE olympics
not to mention current rivals, girlfriends emily clark (assistant captain of the ottawa charge) + jamie bourbonnais (assistant captain of the new york sirens) who met and played together on team canada
the vancouver goldeneyes have TWO couples on it now, captain ashton bell + rookie nina jobst smith and veterans michaela cava + emma greco, who are finally reunited after playing against each other on different teams last year
and that’s just a small percentage of the players who are together!!!
anyways the PWHL season is on now, watch it (on TSN/CBC/Sportsnet in Canada and on YouTube in the USA/internationally) if you want to see actual gay hockey players
suddenly realized i haven't seen a single tumblr post about yesterday's ECJ ruling (that all EU countries must recognize same-sex marriages conducted in another EU country, even if the country in question does not have legal same-sex marriage). this is huge and feels like people on here would be more enthusiastic about it
European Union countries must recognize the lawful same-sex marriages of EU citizens conducted in other member states, the bloc's top court
Updated my Inprnt!:D
Here's a few of the wisptobers I just added !
If you would ever like a print you can find them here! Will be posting day 31 in a couple hours.;)
Tragedy alignment chart. Feel free to use, but please reblog if you do.
And of course the second part of the tragedy, which is: which quadrant did you think you were in vs. which one you were really in
Most tragedies are "you were technically in control, but because of who you are as a person, you were always going to use that control to make this decision and have it turn out this way."

Have you seen the new movie? It's on library. It's literally on the library. It's on library without ads. It's literally on your local public library. You can probably ask for it on your library. Dude it's on your library. It's in the original case too. It's on library. You can watch it at the library. You can go to your local library and watch it. Register onto your local library right now. Go to your library. Dive into your library. You can watch it. It's on there. Your library has it for you. Your library has it for you.
Have you seen your post? You can see it at library. It's at library. It's on the library staff cabinet. It got printed out on paper and put up on Library.
oh my GOSH wow... I'm on Library...
btw while people continue to fight the system don't forget about Undue Medical Debt (formerly RIP Medical Debt), a charity that buys and forgives medical debt. on average a donation of $10 will forgive $1,000 of medical debt.
I'm fairly confident that this is now the one original post I've made that has gotten the most notes, and I honestly couldn't be happier. the more attention we give this, the higher the chances that someone will see this and donate. medical debt is both one of the most crushing things a person can deal with and one of the stupidest things humanity has invented. and if you live in the US, I have no doubt that you've had to deal with medical debt in your life, either for yourself or a loved one. even a small donation can do so much good, and now is the time of year when we are encouraged to think of others.
Obsessed with the tables for Campaign 4 being decided based on what the players wanted to explore in a story. The Soldiers table will be exploring stories that centre conflict and combat where the violent solution is not only the right answer but often the only answer. The Seekers table will be digging into mysteries and lore and magic and problem-solving on a cosmic scale. And the Schemers table will be focusing on the dynamics of power and institutions and relationships to those things and each other, with plenty of intrigue along the way.
Love this because not only are all of these kinds of stories that D&D is well-equipped to tell, but because it also indicates the prep work was done to make sure all the players were on board with the type of story each of their tables would be telling so they could design their characters -not just mechanically (though I am currently very excited to eventually learn the class/sub-class distributions between all three tables based on which type of story the characters are in), but also in terms of personality- to fit that type of story their table will be telling, Especially because the lack of this kind of prep work unfortunately hamstrung Campaign 3, so I'm very happy to see they seem to have learned from the experience.

The cast for Campaign 4 (x)
truly wild how driving really does become like piloting a mech after a while. like it sounds so car-bro-y but the car genuinely does become like an extension of your body. your muscles are simply making the correct micro-movements to perfectly manouvre a giant piece of machinery through a constantly moving maze while your brain is busy singing karaoke. you can physically feel when a gap is too small for your car-sona to fit through, like a cat putting its whiskers into a crevice. your brain is suddenly able to do on-the-fly s=d/t calculations in a milisecond and tell you exactly how quickly you need to move to avoid an oncoming vehicle while turning across the road. why does driving unlock the unused 89% of my brain
What the hell.
Is that what driving is for most people? I looked in the notes expecting to see a bunch of bewildered reactions but everyone is agreeing with OP and it's not that I don't believe you, but like.
I drove for years and hated every second of it because I was constantly aware of the fact that I was in charge of a massive chunk of speeding steel and glass capable of causing death if I sneezed at the wrong moment. Not for a single second did the car feel like a part of me. Driving always felt deeply unnatural and highly dangerous. It is indeed Wild to think that the vast majority of people apparently smoothly mind-meld with their car.
No wonder I hate driving so much. Everyone else is having a fun Carsona drift experience while I'm strapped into the pilot seat of a complicated memory game whose penalty for losing is dismemberment.
How in tune people are with a car can vary wildly. But from various studies, many involving brain imaging, the human brain is actually pretty good at adding inanimate objects to our body. It's how we use tools. The brain just adjusts to whatever tool you're using as "that's my body" and treats it as a thing to interact with as part of self.
Yes, this includes potentially Really Weird body plans including extra limbs, fingers, tails and body plans significant shorter or taller than our actual body or joint arrangements that don't match how our regular joints work.
"Car" is just a particularly large version of My Body Includes Tool AND also a really common one!
ALL of these require practice. There's also a warm up time between not having tool to brain adjusting to "that's my body" even when you use it all the time.
If you have poor proprioception with regards to your regular body, you may struggle with getting your brain to recognize an object outside your body as part of your body. Proprioception being the sense which tells you where your body is in relation to the rest of your body. It draws info from visual, auditory, vestibular, and touch information.... including INTERNAL touch, which you usually are not consciously aware of as a thing you perceive. You probably don't normally want to be aware of the fact leaning forward changes the position of your diaphragm.... but it does. (sorry for everyone trying this and now being hyperaware of your innards)
You can do exercises specifically aimed at improving proprioception, which likely will improve your ability to use tools of all sorts, likely including the car. Whether it ever suddenly clicks as "oh that's my BODY" as a conscious thought, that's an entirely different matter.
BRAINS ARE WEIRD.
"Youtube is applying post-processing to all shorts so they look more like Al. this is intentional & malicious. when their generative Al shorts feature launches users will be less likely to discern what's Al-slop and what's not, and the audience will think Al video is just as good"
Please be aware.
If everything starts to look a little off and a little fake, it's much easier for bad actors to not only push through actual disinformation, but also attempt to discredit factual video sources.
