The Stairs on the Staircase

The note read simply "My Office. Immediately after dinner." On Monday Professor Snape saved me from falling off a moving staircase. Sparks shot out of our hands where our skin made contact as he pulled me to safety. Over the course of the week I have become obsessed, and uncontrollably aroused thinking of him constantly. I feel his eyes on me. I catch him looking at me. Nothing brings relief from the arousing day dreams churning through my mind since Monday. I fear I've gone completely mad. It's Friday and now I have this note. I know who it's from.

(This is a reader/Severus Snape story but it's formatted differently. It's written in first person I don't use name inserts. )

A Miss Measured Hiatus

Hello Dearest Readers, 

There’s been something I’ve needed to say for a while now, and I’ve put it off, but here it is: I’m going on hiatus, How long? I do not know. I am not thinking about the story very much of late. 

The guilt is nearly overwhelming when I get asked about updates. So I am formally letting you know this tree is going dormant. I have been lucky enough to be cast in a community theatre show, which is a long underused part of my creative side. I’m hoping the play, and shaking up my routine in other ways will inspire fresh buds on my writing tree. 

I really hope this won’t make anyone upset. I took some time off already to work on my mental health and I’m seeing a lot of positive change, but the writing feel more like an obligation than a joy. So I need reset. I love you all so much, and I’m so grateful for you.

Sure thing! First of all, welcome to the fandom! We’ve got plenty of Alan Rickman goodness to go around, so you’re in for a treat.

As for my favorite stories, let me start with @smilingformoney. My absolute favorite has to be "Sins of the Flesh." It’s the first one I read, and it hooked me right into the Alan Rickman fandom—talk about starting with a bang!

For @evans23, I’m all about "I Am Yours." The way she portrayed Sinclair in that one shot just had me swooning! 🫶

And there’s a gem over on Wattpad by cwwonder called "Tears from the Moon." It’s a beautiful mix of laughter and tears, focusing on Alan and an actress who falls in love with him throughout the story. Sadly, the author hasn’t updated it in a while, but I’m still holding out hope for more chapters! 🫤

I actually finally have a drafted chapter. Editing it soon. Mental health recovery has been slow. My anxiety is way down but I’ve been very bummed out and unmotivated. Thanks to my beta reader giving me ideas I was able to get the inspo I needed to link the pieces together for a chapter. So hopefully soon I’ll be posting when I get a chance to edit and read through with my beta.
