I'm hi and listening to my mom's Oasis cd, sitting in my own apartment but with her comforter on my bed and her college tapestry on my wall. The plates she bought as a young adult are in my cabinet, her favorite wedged heels from her thirties are in my closet, her wire jewelry holder now holds jewelry that belongs to me, and the necklace she bought in college is one I wear every day.

For all I swear is different about us two I find ways to remain an echo of the person she once was, different in so many ways but so much the same.

Julie and the Phantoms just came up on my youtube recommended and I regressed into the 2020 version of myself.

I actually miss that show so much but omg that is a different version of me who watched that show.

When I was a young teen I was a huge Why Don't We fan and Daniel Seavey stan and then around 2020 forgot about them and I just found his recent music and why am I on the cusp of tears??? Why is this the biggest marker of the years that have passed since 2020 for me???

That whole thing about fictional couples being alive in other universes has to be real because I’ve seen it TWICE now.

Two years ago I worked with an extremely smart girl who had blonde hair and a weird relationship with her dad. Her long term boyfriend who she’s been dating since they were like 14 has jet black hair with a grey streak in the front (and only in the front) and bright green eyes.

Now I’m working at a summer camp and one of the campers has a father who looks exactly like every piece of fan-art of James Potter (glasses and British accent included) and a mom with bright red (natural) hair.

Reading fanfiction in public is always a bit reckless but I lived my worst nightmare when my friend told me the man sitting next to me on the plane was reading “whatever it was” that I had on my phone.

“It” happened to be a Luke Hemmings fanfic and I break into a cold sweat whenever I think about it.
