This account has been with me for over 10 years now. I have stopped using it and have come back a plethora of times. I have used this through many points in my life and it is a permanent log of all of the different mindsets I have had. At 23 years old, my mind almost fully developed, I have decided to return to Tumblr again. However before I return to shit posting or perusing fandom content, I must scream some thoughts into the void. If you scroll far enough you will find hateful rhetoric I became a part of during 2016. I have grown from this and realized how hurtful most if not all of what I was saying was. Living with conservatives, being on 4chan, etc was not good for me lmao. But that does not excuse me from any of the 'trolling' or things I have said. I lived in hate for many years. Hate against myself and the life I had and I put it onto others. Internalized homophobia, misogyny, and racism that I was able to navigate out of after therapy and self reflection. I don't want to make a new account because I don't see a point. I want to take accountability for my actions, do my part in communities in real life, and move on. So for anyone who sees this. Hi. I'm sorry if I was ever rude to you in the past. I hope today and all your days going forwards are better.

It’s so deeply frustrating to have it become controversial, even taboo, to correctly and rightfully call out shitty and poorly made entertainment. So much of it is deeply entangled in this idea that the gesture and the symbolic value outweighs the actual quality and execution of the story or show or whatever, and it’s a really shitty way of telling people that they can’t be angry because it’s supposed to be a special treat for all the dumb idiots who should feel honored that someone made a terrible movie for them.

Interestingly, though The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is narrated by Boris Karloff, the big musical number is sung by the late Thurl Ravenscroft - an American voice actor better known as the voice of Tony the Tiger.

My headcanon is that the Grinch and Tony the Tiger had a bad breakup, and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” is the resulting breakup song.
