I watched some edgy 2Doc edits from like a decade ago and stumbled across this beautiful, enriching relic of a comment.

Like, this was written long before bubbline was canon and TNN existed.

Also the reasons they listed give me the same vibes to why people shipped Elsa and Jack frost back at the day. (It was mostly aesthetic bs...)

I personally find this comment fascinating. It really is a relic of a different internet and shipping era. Also probably whoever commented it was rather young. This is not me hating on this comment but dissecting it in retrospect.

Hii twin!!! I’m glad you asked :] I adore 2Doc fics lol ever since last summer I dedicated a ridiculous amount of time for them.. here’s some of my favs, all on AO3:

-“The devil and Stuart pot” by Witty-fool, my favourite long form 2Doc fic of all time. Absolutely nails their dynamic, and the second fic ever to make me audibly laugh from its sillier moments. Though it gets darker in many instances. Takes place after phase 6. It deals with Murdoc’s mental health struggles after he finally decides to start a treatment process, and his romantic relationship with 2D that develops alongside it. It’s NOT a slow burn (yay!) It captures the struggles of mental illness and relapses so accurately and humanises it too. I don’t see many medias that humanise that kind of specific experience that is portrayed in there enough. That just shows it as, well, life. Honestly it’s my comfort fic. Currently there’s an epilogue being written, but the base fic is complete. I can’t do it justice by my description alone tbh, go read it for yourself :D

-“Can’t get back without you” by Superfast_jellybitch, a pretty sweet short multi chapter fic that shows 2D and Murdoc on the beginning of phase 4 coming to terms of how screwed their relationship is. Though it does start sour, things develop between the two throughout the fic. I read it all in one sitting and I remember enjoying it.

-“Ephemeral Euphoria” by Anonymous, an adorable one shot that is based on a specific canon twitter interaction between 2D and Murdoc post the “Momentary bliss” mv. It’s delectable I always enjoy revisiting it.

Overall, those are picks I really like! I hope you enjoy any of them lol

It’s not just my comfort fic, it’s the fic that would forever hunt my subconscious.

I think about it often while I draw them or listen to certain songs on my 2Doc playlist.

Menthol cigarettes would forever be associated for me with 2D (and Murdoc’s whining)

Though, I love your other 2Doc fics too :D

A good friend of mine brought me this from their trip to Japan <3

I still haven’t got a Mountain CD so that means I will do a listening party with me, myself and my Journal. (Maybe Keith).

Also now I have the day and sunset Plastic beach CDs. It has a couple of differences, for example the Japanese version comes with an extra huge poster and “Pirate progress” as a bonus track. They also have a size difference.

Also this was my initial reaction when I flipped through The mountain’s booklet and found out the pickle in the running art isn’t visible like I’ve seen online before. (Very heartbreaking 💔)

(No but still I’m so freaking excited about The mountain hdchjfjfjg CD. I love you eccentric British old men 🙏 you and your manic OCs <3)
