they live in complete darkness!! the stream which flows through the cave is rich in sulfur, and microorganisms in the water are the primary producers. since theres no light they use chemosynthesis, not photosynthesis, to turn the sulfur into energy. the cave is really rich in fauna not despite but because of its complete lack of light
