I have this Headcanon that Gareth is Dustin’s cousin (like Gareth’s mom is Dustin’s aunt) and that they’re pretty close and that Gareth would end up finding out about the Upside Down and Vecna and what happened to Eddie from Dustin, (who really didn’t want to tell him about Eddie’s death) then he would (with the other Hellfire members) help defeat Vecna (since I think they would have helped and I think it was a mistake in the story that they didn’t)
