a gentle reminder to everyone in the pitt fandom who is tempted to blame all the female characters struggles on robby- stop it.

stop stripping the female characters of their own plotlines, own motivations, and own disabilities. stop acting as though their suffering is solely caused by a third party agent rather than allowing them to be complex and nuanced characters who are every bit as worthy of in-depth analysis as a white male character.

stop painting over baran's disability, stop ignoring mohan's ongoing struggles with residencies, research funding and her family, stop dismissing trinity's backstory of childhood abuse, stop diminishing javadi's growth as she goes into choosing her residency. stop acting like their layered emotions and struggles are all based on the actions of one man- because they are not.

baran has been battling the realities of her disability all day, realities that mean that she cannot do the job she was hired to do to its full capacity because it is not safe. she is angry and mourning the loss of autonomy and independence that this will cause her now and has caused her in the past. while robby could have phrased himself better, baran's suffering and storyline is *not* about him and is *not* catalysed by him. how dare you strip her of her storyline, that means so much to so many living with disabilities?

the same goes for all the other women. I should not have to tell you how misogynistic it is to do this. yes, discuss and look at misogyny. yes, talk about robby's unconscious bias. but right now the misogyny you need to be looking at most is your own, for constantly flattening these well written female characters and attributing their whole story to a man. come on. don't be an instrument in your own fucking dehumanisation.

and the thing is that gymnast!trinity never would’ve made it to the olympics to begin with but more importantly, she never would’ve won!! beyond the fact that being an olympian essentially makes it impossible for her to be an r2 at the age that she is (most elite gymnasts are homeschooled full time which translates to -> a few hours of school a day so the rest can be spent doing gymnastics) trinity doesn’t have the mentality of someone who would make it to the olympics. and she especially doesn’t have the mentality of someone who would make it and win

and no, i don’t mean this in a “she needs to be positive!” way — i mean it in the way of, gymnastics burns you out and teenage trinity santos is nothing if not burnt out. she is a ticking time bomb full of pressure — she would have been the worst of what marta and bela karolyi could’ve ever produced. she is carrying a thousand expectations on her shoulders and she is patching herself up day after day while she continues to internally break and she’s doing this for years

so if trinity made it to the olympics, she wouldn’t have been a “and shawn johnson takes silver after nastia liukin wins gold” graceful concede to second place. she would’ve been alexandra truvosa crashing out on public television — going after her coaches, going after the camera men, going after anyone who came near her. only trinity would’ve been a thousand times worse than sasha truvosa because that is just who she is. any other outcome is simply incorrect.

Leo and Piper going to a “wilderness school,” and it’s just a troubled teen program. Before Coach Hedge and Jason got there, they were just outside for hours, and the staff treatment was horrible, but it was also a big part of their adolescence because it was the only school they made friends at (each otherand Jason, I guess, kinda). On the Argo 2, they’ll be talking about school sucking for demigods, and it’s mostly about monsters disguising as students or teachers and Piper’s like “remember that one shitty teacher we had who wouldn’t let us inside until someone dropped from heatstroke,” and Leo’s like “which time?” like it’s totally normal. Everyone’s thinking the teacher was a monster only for Piper and Leo to be like, “No, he was just a regular guy who was an asshole.” Hedge feels bad about it sometimes that he couldn’t come and get them out sooner.

Chat, can I just say my username Mr.Melancholy is not meant to be homophobic or transphobic in any sort of way I am a lesbian and an ally. One of the things I HATE in media is when they put a girl with guys and kinda dull down her character to make her a mother figure to them even if previously she proved to be just as weird and wacky on her own. That’s why I love Community and how when Annie moved in with Troy and Abed rather than picking up after their hijinks she gets involved and has her own chaotic part in them.

I love those Pitt fics where Trinity Santos is a gymnast but like not just a small club or hobby but she was GREAT like Olympic level talent and she just doesn’t talk about it. Yeah, Simone Biles is her close and personal friend; you can Google her and find all of her old routines on YouTube as well as how she scored the best. She also just doesn’t tell anyone, and one day she’s recognized, which leads to a whole “ YOU COMPETED IN THE OLYMPICS AND DIDNT TELL ANYONE!” She shrugs it off because at the end of the day, she chose med school, but she’ll sometimes go to a gym when she’s really missing it, and every few years, she and a bunch of other Olympic athletes will meet up to get brunch.

fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.

“college is absolutely nothing like this” “why are we writing four people on the team scoring a hat trick in one game” “so tech work is nothing like this, hope that helps!”

if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.

The difference between the later seasons of disventure camp from the earlier seasons is crazy bc the worst thing that happened in season 4 was Isabel making a couple fight over who stays in but in season 2 Riya was gonna let Aiden fall from a cliff and die 😭

The seven and how they would play animal crossing

Percy: He would like going to all the different islands collecting bugs and fish and stuff, but it’s a slower game, so he mostly just plays it for Annabeth.

Annabeth: HER ISLAND IS BEAUTIFUL she enjoys the designing part the most and definitely time skips to her the most important thing is making sure her island is functional and beautiful tends to ignore the museum and shops in favor of designing the island.

Leo: He’s just like annabeth but less on the aesthetic part more on the functionality of it all. Also doesn’t put too much thought into the museum and is peciluar about his islanders because Piper made him feel insecure about them. His island has the stupidest fucking name like Leolandia and he tells all his islanders to call him bad boy supreme.

Piper: The most peculiar about her islanders bullied Leo’s for his and is invested in the museum. Plays for like 2 weeks then hops off for a few months before going back. Has a nice vegetable garden and runs the turnip stock market.

Jason: Doesn’t play too much animal crossing got it bc of Piper and Leo but is probably the only one who plays the game without skipping and doing everything he’s supposed to do. Was stuck on 3 stars for the longest time.

Frank: does not discriminate against his islanders and detests when others (Piper) do. Likes catching bugs and fish but lets most things happen by fate. Wasps are not his friend alsways getting stung.

Hazel: Plays the game correctly but with time skipping she is locked in when she plays. Does all the events forms connections with her neighbors finishes the museum and does it all in a short period of time.

The difference between Pearl and Maxine in the X trilogy is the difference between desperation and determination. Pearl is desperate, and Maxine is determined. Pearl was desperate to be a star; to leave the farm and to be seen and loved, something she didn’t feel from her mother due to how off-putting she was. However, she only goes to one audition, and when she doesn’t get it, she goes crazy. She also promises her mother beforehand that if she doesn’t make it, that means she never will. So, while she was desperate to be a star, she was not determined like Maxine was. Maxine didn’t go to one audition. She separated herself from her family, was a porn star, and went to countless auditions before finally getting her break that she worked her ass off for. She was determined to be a star, even repeating that mantra to herself to keep her going: “I will not accept a life I do not deserve.” Which is different than the one Pearl says: “I will not accept a life I do not deserve. Nothing’s going to keep me here.” The final part shows further her desperation for being seen as a star and getting out rather than determination for becoming a star.

If everything had gone well and Anakin hadn’t turned evil, the Skywalkers would not have been a happy family. Luke and Leia would be children of divorce. I’ve talked of this before, but Anakin and Padmé loved each other selfishly. They knew being together would hurt them both and still went through with it. They’re also both really stubborn, so when they clash on views, they really clash, and one of them (Anakin) goes a little crazy over these clashes. If everything had gone well, they would either be divorced or together and unhappy.

No exactly like as much as I want the to be happy even separated with an organized calendar nd simple drop offs Anakin would probably fall even farther without Padme and his kids either looking just like her, acting like her, or just reminding him of her in general would NOT help Leia goes no contact 100% and Luke goes minimal
