Holiday Health
My husband and I moved states a year ago. He works in retail management so the holidays are a busy time for him, and we are maximizing hours over the next couple years before children come along and our priorities change.
So...
We don't have any big fancy plans for Christmas, which means
I'm starting my "new year" early, and doing keto in December. Keto is never going to be a complete lifestyle for me, at least I don't think. But what it is, is the best, most effective way I've been able to manage my health journey.
Next post will ask for tips of the trade, because I know no one reads a wall of text ;)
Outrunning the Fork
Ive been a bit lost, I guess.
Off the wagon, so to speak.
Just eating a bunch of bad, bad foods in massive quantities.
Those good habits? They seem to have died.
I guess I'm writing this post to hold myself accountable? I know the biggest, most important part of this journey is the food. And the thing is, even though I'm busy and I don't have a lot of time right now to focus on the gym, they two aren't a pair. Its not like I can't have one if I don't have the other.
But I think I've been behaving and maybe even thinking that way. Working on food, would make it so eventually food comes easy, and then it wouldn't feel like work.
So I guess, what Im trying to say, is for the rest of the year while I deal with this homebuying and renovation and moving nonsense, that I'm going to stop trying to be a miracle worker and hit the gym on top of 10 hour work days and appointments and all that.
But that doesn't mean I have to eat like shit.
I am going to focus on taking care of my body and filling it with nutrients. I need some help with this. I like food and I can afford to eat bad food all the time. But I just can't be that person. One day Im going to have a baby (thats the plan anyway) and I don't want to fill that baby up with junk food. I need to get a handle on this now, not then.
Thanks for listening.
what if things go well? that’s a possibility.
I bought a house!
Kind of, sort of, not quite.
They accepted our offer!
Our loan got approved!
The inspection is tomorrow!
So it's all going as planned and looking a-o-good!
It's hard to believe. I got back from my honeymoon 11 days ago and in that time, we got pre-approved, accidentally walked into the perfect house, and had our offer accepted. So crazy.
I can't wait to buy an elliptical! Ahaha.
Two Days Back
Everyone has that point. Mine is at 2 days. Where I just think WHY AM I DOING THIS I WANT TO EAT EVERYTHING.
If I take a step back I realize that I don't. That I'm not even craving anything. But I think it's because of this whole idea that you "cant" have stuff, that my mind is rebelling. It's been years since I've thought that way, so I wish it would stop. I'm a grown ass adult making the choice to not eat those items right now, but some old part of me from a decade ago gets deeply in touch with that "I CANT HAVE IT SO I NEED IT" vibe and day two is always hard.
Anyway, it's day 2, y'all.
I took my debit card to the break room to go buy SOMETHING, ANYTHING, and stood in front of all the junk food for a good minute, and realized I didn't actually want any of it. So that's a win right there.
Another win? I'm so excited to make brussel sprouts tomorrow.
The best stress relief anti depressant there is
Enjoy your holidays, because I want to start 2020 with a big challenge. I wanted to do something similar to last year's Summer Games hosted by @evolutionofacosfitter, over 90 days. A metabolic blitz to follow all of that tasty holiday food 😂
Thought I'd bring it up early, see if anyone is interested before I get into the serious planning.
So down.
