it annoy me when people say kunikida sees his glasses as a part of his body😭 he says that in AN AD!!! and it's so obvious he is joking!!! he's trying to be silly why do yall take him seriously!!! and he breaks them like all the time, in an omake he says he has to remake them with his notebook, trust me he doesn't care that much about them

Trust me I don't take him super seriously when he said that and its not some huge defining aspect of his character... but also this isn't really a mischaracterization IMO, people who wear glasses are just like that.

As someone who's needed glasses since I was 4 years old, Kunikida is the most relatable glasses character I've seen in a long time. He's not completely useless without them, no "jinkies my glasses". But he also isn't one of those characters who wears them but doesn't even need them. He needs them but he's very casual about it.

In my experience you just get so used to wearing them for so long that they do kinda feel like an extension of your body. Yes I've broken my glasses before, yes I get replacements for them, but that doesn't mean I don't care about them. I still rely on them to see and because I've worn them for so much of my life it does feel kinda wrong to not have them on sometimes.

Personally I wouldn't take mine into a bath bc that sounds annoying, but honestly I get it

I love that kunikida treats his glasses this way, like as someone who cannot see without mine it's very healing.

I feel like the idea that people who wear glasses don't need them to this extent is probably tied to the fact that people don't think of glasses as a replacement organ. But my glasses do in fact compensate for my eyes the same way a pacemaker might compensate for a heart. The same way a cane might compensate for a limb. The same way an artificial arm might compensate for the lack of a flesh one.

There's no other way to say it but they simply? Are a piece of my body? I can't drive without them, I can't read without them, I can't see people's faces without them. If I did not have glasses I would not be able to live.

I can break them because I can replace them but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to take them off, yes, even in the bath.

no but you can FORCE it away. use ublock origin and copy paste the blacklist i made into the filters to be able to remove the bullshit AI overview that google forces. it also removes youtube's forced ads (at least until they fix it)

you can also use the ublacklist extension and use this blacklist of AI image generation websites to curate your google image results

there are ALWAYS ways around stuff. it's just a matter of looking into it and asking around

You know I have several thoughts about bsd chapter 121.5(spoilers)

but mainly I'm just deeply impressed by how quickly atsushi realised he was in a 4 dimensional space.

It's one thing to conclude he has to go into the time sword to destroy it and another to realise in that same vein that if the sword can travel through time, the inhabitants of said sword may also do so. It's just, sometimes it's easy to forget that Atsushi is a very intelligent young man and having his subconscious literally take the form of his mentor in order for him (and by extension the viewer) to believe that, is very funny on Asagiris part.

It's the only way this would have worked also, Atsushi has grown more confidence in his combat abilities but he's still fairly meek when it comes to his observation and intellectual skills. He's hallucinating Dazai right now because he doesn't have the confidence to trust that he himself is smart enough to figure this out.

Also in case your confused by what the mumbo jumbo said in this chapter means, basically in the real world we can only Actively travel in Three Dimensions that being length, width and height. We do Passively travel through a Fourth Dimension though, that being time.

In amenogozen space is technically Four dimensional. It's inhabitants can Actively travel in four Dimensions, time being the main one of concern. Now in theory Atsushi could use this opportunity to travel into his future, but being that Atsushi himself is a Three Dimensional being, the future isn't something Atsushi can see. He can go back to the past because he knows what's there, he's already been there before.

Basically image a 2d triangle, now you or I can turn a 2d triangle into a 3d pyramid because we know what that third dimension looks like. We know that triangles "future". But the 2d triangle can't perceive that 3d pyramid so if it wanted to change it could only go back to the first dimension, in the direction it can perceive, "the past". The same concept applies to Atsushi, he can't become a 4 dimensional being because he doesn't know what that feels like, so he can only travel back into the past because he's felt that before.

It's for this same reason that Fukuchi can only use amenogozen to effect the future if another future Fukuchi warns him he needs to do so. Otherwise he mainly effects the past.
