I wanted to take a moment to write about Sailor Jupiter. She is by far one of my favorite Sailor Scouts. I’ve read a few articles about her written by people who claim she has no personality, but I just don’t see that. She’s me. I related to her in school. She was that girl was tough, who didn’t let anyone know they hurt her, even when they did. She was one of the guys, but really wanted to be one of the girls. Her tough persona was who she was, she wasn’t hiding anything. She’s just her. She’s PERFECT the way she is. She’s also loyal. So very loyal. She’s Usagi’s protector in a way the other scouts couldn’t have been. Isn’t she always the first to stand up? The last one to back down? Jupiter is amazing. Mako-chan is amazing. Plus come on, it was pretty cool how she just snatched her transformation pen and BAM BAM, she was Sailor Jupiter. She didn’t even need to be told what to do. That’s a BASC right there (Badass Sailor Scout ^_~) I love all the scouts. I hate seeing them picked at, because I feel like each one of them represents some kind of inner beauty we all feel we relate to. Each scout, I promise you, has helped someone emotionally. I just felt like speaking up for Jupiter, because she’s so very special to me. <3

Jack is not gone yet. He's still with us for now, however we DON'T know how long he'll be with us for. We've checked with Unforgettable Pets (a local place out in Slidell) who does pet cremations. They will pick Jack's body up if he goes at home, which means we may be able to put him down here, where he's comfortable. Most of you who know me, know I hate asking for help like this. Not only that, but posting this is very hard because it feels very final. But with everything going on, this hit us out of no where and I want us to be prepared when the time comes to have to think about this. It could be a few months, but it could be a few weeks to a few days. The truth is, we really just don't know. We DO know that he has a progressive disease (bone cancer) and that he won't be with us much longer. If you can help out at all either by donating or re-blogging this post, I'd really appreciate it. I have never had good experiences at the wal-mart in Hammond Louisiana. The employees are all, save for maybe one or two, the rudest people I've ever come across. Still, I shop here because there are things I can only get here. After today, I will NOT be shopping here anymore. I have never been treated with so much disrespect - for no reason - as I have today. I stood in line for about 15-20 minutes while the people ahead of me, who had a huge buggy full of items, rang up things in order so they could coupon. It took forever, but that was understandable. When it was MY turn, however, the cashier completely ignored me and ushered the man behind me AHEAD of me so that she could ring up his items since, in her words "that was all he had." I was not asked if I was okay with this. I was not even spoken to. I was flat out ignored. I had FROZEN items in my buggy and I had to get home to start dinner. This behavior was NOT okay. I had patiently waited for my turn, only to be "cut" because the cashier decided who was going to go first. NOT cool and NOT professional. I worked as a cashier at CVS for a long time. Had I done this, I would have been fired - ON THE SPOT!!!! My boss would not have tolerated that kind of behavior! So I called to talk to the manager - instead I get someone who keeps trying to insist I speak with them. Eventually I'm told the manager is in a meeting and that they could be in the meeting for "hours" - that they have NO idea when the manager will be out. Frankly, I felt like they were lying to avoid letting me speak to the manager. Her overall tone was nasty, snotty and almost as if she were amused by the fact that I wanted to speak to the manager. So I called corporate. But I had to write a about it, because I'm so disgusted right now by this walmart and their employees. I will not EVER step foot back inside this store.

This is Jack. He's eight years old and was the puppy of a hurricane Katrina rescue dog. For the past eight years, he's been a vital part of our family. He's more than just a pet and companion, he's a friend and family member. We noticed within the last few days that he seems to have a overgrowth of gums that is swelling his mouth. We hate asking for help, but we're in a bind here. Jack needs to go to the vet and will likely need xrays. There is a good chance he will have to be put under to have the growth cut off. At the moment, we're unsure exactly how big the bill will run.We're hoping the bill is minor and if it is, we'll return whatever donations are given to help us. But as it stands, he may need surgery and we can't afford to go through with it.Any little bit will help and please know we're grateful for any help you can give.
