Hey <3 Would you be up for some headcanons (or short scenario if you like) for IkeVamp (Comte, Vlad, Faust) with reader who does understand them and their motives but calls them out on their behavior and how they choose to acomplish their goals (basically the ethics of their actions)?
Heyy, I haven’t read their routes yet so it might not 100% be what you expected, but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless, and thank you for requesting! :D
Themes: angst, some fluff, gender-neutral mc
- “I see through it all, you know.”
- MC’s words jolted Comte out of his afternoon reverie, catching him off guard as he looked over at them to find them scrutinising him.
- Being one of the oldest vampires in the mansion, perhaps in existence, nothing much surprised him anymore, yet his human lover continuously did.
- Arching a brow delicately, wondering where they were going with this, he replied, “See through what, ma chérie?”
- “Your act. You buy endless amounts of gifts and pay for everyone here to hide your pain and guilt for those you couldn’t provide for in the past.”
- MC really did have a way of leaving him speechless.
- Because that was it really, wasn’t it?
- Comte had always considered himself to be a picture of the finest nobility, leading an example of how those in the upper class should be, and treat those who were less fortunate with the utmost respect, no matter what their background was, and he helped his residents to prosper and grow as both people and vampires.
- Despite the fact that he’d always been told that he should be respected and revered all because of the pure vampiric blood that ran through his veins, a type that other vampires admired like royalty.
- And, yet, it had never stopped the pain that struck him like a stake through the heart when he lost his first love; or the guilt of feeling as though he’d never tried hard enough to keep Vlad by his side and stop him from becoming what he was now.
- He wanted to deny it, truly he did, but that would be a lie, and he refused to do that to MC.
- “But, you don’t have to hide how you’re feeling. At least, not with me. Confide in me, scream, cry, whatever you need. It’s another way for you to reveal your true emotions while you complete your goals.”
- That was why he loved MC.
- But, perhaps they were right.
- Maybe it was time to reveal the extent of his pent up pain, and who better to bare his soul to than the one he loves.
- “There are other ways to save and love people.”
- Vlad had had a nice, peaceful day outside tending to his flowers in solitude, and had been hoping to have a relaxing evening with his lover, but it seemed they had other ideas.
- “I know you’re trying to save the world, but is what you’re doing really going to achieve that? How do you know you’re not the cause of the future?”
- That was what was on their mind.
- Ever since the dramatic event between himself and Comte with MC caught in between, Vlad had told them the truth behind his actions, his reasons for sabotaging, mimicking, intimidating those around him, and they’d accepted them.
- It had been a long time since anyone had done that - in fact, he thought Comte was the last person who ever would.
- And, yet, in spite of that, MC still nagged at him, encouraging him to renew his friendships with everyone, to change his old ways for the better.
- If you’d told Vlad, the last remaining descendant of the pureblood house Draculesti, that he’d become enamoured by a mere human, he’d have laughed.
- That he would become fascinated with the human race in general, love it so much that he’d cause an endless amount of pain on their account? Tears of laughter.
- But, maybe MC wasn’t just being dramatic.
- He, himself, had had second thoughts about his questionable decisions, unsure as to whether he truly was making the right choices, but he’d always pushed those thoughts away, determined to not be led astray from his path.
- “I know you want to save humanity, but there are other ways to do that without disrupting lives or causing chaos. Have you tried actually getting to know the people around here?”
- For once, Vlad was speechless.
- But, maybe, just maybe, MC had a point and, with them, he’d start to change his bloody ways.
- Faust looked up from his work table at the sound of MC’s voice, their question raising a brow.
- The scientist froze, surprise briefly flashing across his features before he regained his composure, having a feeling he knew where this was going.
- He had performed many questionable experiments throughout his life as both a human and a vampire, on both himself and others.
- It may sound despicable, inhumane, but Faust enjoyed the rush of adrenaline the feeling of smoothly dissecting a corpse gave him, the numbness his strange concoctions caused him to feel when he tested them on himself.
- Well, he never thought about that.
- It had been going on for so long that when he performed them he no longer felt . . . anything.
- After all, wasn’t that another reason for his barbaric experiments - to see how much pain he could take before the feeling was as familiar as coming home?
- Although, he still had tingles and suffered minor side effects that, if he were human, probably would’ve almost killed him, which was as close to feeling pain as he got these days.
- “They do, don’t they? I get why you like doing them, for scientific study or whatever, but there has to be another way for you to do them, especially ones you do on yourself, without damaging yourself or committing crimes.”
- At that, Faust couldn’t help but smirk softly.
- His lover did, admittedly, have a point, and it also reminded him how lucky he was to have them.
- But, old habits die hard, don’t they?”
