The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.
Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.
No carb, engine don’t start. No protein, engine dies out fast.
Easy carb add on:
Cookie
Fruit (canned or fresh)
Chips
Piece of bread
Popcorn
Crackers
Easy protein add on:
Nuts
Spoonful of nut butter
Cheese
Roasted chickpea snacks
Glass of milk (dairy or non dairy)
Small canned sausages or similar
Sugar in there.
I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.
Love it when a character is like “I can tell you’re trying to smooth talk me and I’m fully aware you’re trying to manipulate me but it’s working. Keep complimenting me.”
Ah, you’re trying to flatter me. My one weakness! Keep going.

Amazing moments in Dads: my friend’s dad’s critique of Frankenstein was, “I just don’t think the author had read science fiction before.”
"I'd say she knows a little more about sci-fi than you do, pal, BECAUSE SHE INVENTED IT!"

This work is about the joy and freedom that come with deconverting from an oppressive religion. I hope you enjoy!
Debates about belief/religion are not welcome. If you disagree, just keep scrolling :)
Magical girl who had wanted to be one so badly but never had that magical mascot/mentor encounter so she summoned a demon to contract with instead.
It's not a dark story or anything, the magical girl is just as cute and cheery and friendly as factory standard and never loses that faith and optimism, she's just Pact-bound to a frightening demon from the underworld instead of a cute teddy bear mouse.
“What if he’s manipulating her to evil-“ No.
“What if she needs to eat souls to survive-“ No.
“What if she becomes horrified with what she’s becoming-“ No.
Demon being viewed as weird for making a pact with a cute, cheery schoolgirl.
At every demon party where they show off their pacted there's evil, terrible, and frighteningly beautiful and then there's this teenager in a cute magical girl dress.
"I don't get you Goragog." "Listen, it's nice. Just nice! Can't things be nice? Is it a sin for things to be nice?" "No and that's part of the problem..." "You're just jealous Samantha created a "bffs forever" blingee with me. When was the last time one of your warlocks did something like that for you?" "*on the verge of tears* it's been DECADES!"
Meanwhile on the other side of the room...
"So what do you get in exchange? I get eternal youth and beauty."
"Yeah, and I get all my enemies smited."
"And my guy gave me immeasurable wealth. What'chu got, kid?"
"This super cute compact! Isn't it pretty? The heart-shaped jewels are so sparkly, and the mirror is always spotless!"
"...."
"And since we're pactbound, we're basically roomies now, so I also get a cool best friend and sleepovers on weekends!"
"...."
"Oh, and I also got my magical powers, of course."
Er'trian, Harbinger of Eternal Night, Defender of the Shrieking Chasm, and Lord of Eight Furies stared at eir favorite rival in confusion.
"But it's a pact," ey said. "A deal. An exchange is built in! You can't just Bestow Magical Powers for nothing in return. So what are you getting out of this, Goragog???"
Goragog's dark eyes wept their endless ichor. A halo of eldritch nightmares flickered around his head. With deliberate slowness he turned to meet Er'trian's accursed gaze.
"The power of friendship."
Bugs Bunny accidentally transformed the word nimrod into a synonym for idiot because nobody got a joke where he sarcastically compared Elmer Fudd to the Biblical figure Nimrod, a mighty hunter.
Etymology is ridiculous and terrifying sometimes
Bugs Bunny is more powerful than God
He also solidified the idea of rabbits loving carrots when carrots actually carry very little nutritional value for rabbits. The funniest part of that is that the original joke was a reference to a Clark Gable film where Gable munches on a carrot, it was never meant to imply that rabbits love carrots. The Clark Gable reference would’ve been obvious to audiences in the 40s but it has been pretty much lost to time.
Bugs Bunny has too much power and should be feared.

if i was a popular minecraft youtuber id just tweet "hey guys stop drawing shipping fanart of me and my friends/coworkers, i only fucked one of them and seeing me paired with anyone else is kinda weird and crosses my boundaries" and then i'd turn my phone off
Oh, okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don’t know, that gaslight gatekeep girlboss meme, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you think modern feminism has been co-opted by corporations. But what you don’t know is that that meme is not from Instagram, it's not from Twitter, it's not from Tiktok, it’s actually from Tumblr. You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in January 2021, Tumblr user missnumber1111 posted, "today's agenda: gaslight gatekeep and most importantly girlboss." And then I think it was a-m-e-t-h-y-s-t-r-o-s-e, wasn’t it, who reblogged it with an image of the phrase edited over a piece of "Live, Laugh, Love" wall art? And then gaslight gatekeep girlboss showed up in the feeds of eight different Twitter repost accounts. Then it filtered down through Instagram and then trickled on down into some tragic “alt side of Tiktok” where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that meme represents millions of notes and countless Tumblr users and so it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from Tumblr when, in fact, you’re wearing the meme that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of “stuff.”
I swear this is how I feel every time I see a Tumblr screenshot out in the wild

CONTENT CREATOR ARC - FINALE
AUUGHHHHHH this one was such a doozy to make!! The work was split about halfway between me and Jasmine (milkguzzler99 on Reddit), and I'd say all in all it took about 20 hours total.
I have more to say about the arc itself tomorrow in the reblogs. BUT!! Thank you all for reading and enjoying the stuff we've put out over the past month!! This is the most intensive art project I've ever done, but I think it turned out extremely extremely well
BLASTS ALL OF U (affectionaltely)
living under a rock is so fun i love watching a movie that’s been famous for decades and being like wow this is so good.. did you guys know about this
i dont think whites understand how being white makes literally everything easier.
it effects everything.
being trans is easier when youre white.
being gay is easier when youre white.
being disabled is easier when youre white.
being a woman is easier when youre white.
being autistic is easier when youre white.
oppression is eased when you are white, as you get extra privileges, and your whiteness is seen as a positive characteristic that in some ways counter-balances your other forms of being a minority. whiteness controls everything.
you are automatically way more innocent in your own oppression as a gay, trans, disabled person because of your whiteness.
never forget this.
three things:
1. it’s true
2. white people get pissed when i bring this up/wear this shirt
3. the comments to this thread melted my fucking eyeballs seriously why the fuck are y’all like this
white people you don’t need to say you’re white when you reblog this btw. you don’t even need to mention it btw
Slop is Good Food: Relaxation v. Revelation
Okay, this one is getting the tags. I think it's important. Spread it around if you're so kind.
I've noticed that there has, throughout history, been an ever-changing term for 'art I like but feel a little bit bad about liking so much.' You know, terms like 'guilty pleasure,' 'slop,' etc. We enjoy them, but we use these terms that have intrinsically negative connotations when describing them, as if trying to preemptively acknowledge their flaws lest we be ridiculed for ignoring them.
Stop it. Cut it out.
Like so many things, that collective cultural guilt has its roots in classism and racism and it's wrong and I'm tired of it. It's part of the long-standing separation between so-called 'high art' and the mire of everything else implied to be 'low art.' And while I can't solve those deep-rooted cultural issues (or at least if I can, no one has told me how) as a professional author I'd like to propose something to salve them with my preferred weapon: words.
(Quick credentials blast: I've written eleven books across four series over the course of the last five years. Writing is my full-time job and I hear I'm at least decent enough at it to make a very comfortable living, for whatever questionable worth that has as a measure of skill. I care a lot about art and think a lot about art. Okay, we good? Good.)
First, it is important to acknowledge that the distinction between high art and low art has not persisted exclusively through the dark, evil will of the Mystical Cabal of Nebulously-Defined Bigots. The phrasing persists because it does actually touch on a very relevant difference between what I think most people intuitively understand as the two major types of art, particularly (but not exclusively) in longform media, i.e., TV shows, movies, video games, books, etc. Traditionally, 'high art' has an ephemerally different feel to it. It makes you think about things. It makes you have to wrangle with your own emotions. It makes you cry, or wonder, or do one of several other rather exhausting but rewarding mental activities. Meanwhile, 'low art' is just… fun. It's nice. It's funny. It's entertaining. It could not more obviously still be art, but it's… different. It doesn't move you on a deep level, and it was never trying to. If anything, it's a nice way to keep comfortably still.
AND THAT'S FINE, ACTUALLY. That's okay. It is, I would in fact argue, essential to the human experience and human society as a whole! News flash: people need to relax sometimes. Crazy idea, I know. We don't have to pretend it's somehow intrinsically low-brow to enjoy an action movie or laugh at a comedy sketch. That is a wretched thing to do to our own culture.
So that's where the alternative names I've been cooking come in: relaxation and revelation. I do think, as someone who likes to focus on the latter where possible, that both are immeasurably important. Art, when created for revelation, has immense potential to move and change a person. It is a teaching tool, it is an outlet for pain, it is a way to feel seen and understood and loved in a wide and often horrible universe. Much of my worldview has been fundamentally altered for the better thanks to transformative works of art, and they are so, so, so important to society and good for humans in general. All of that just… isn't a good reason to get weird and gatekeepy about it.
Because again, relaxation is also important. I imagine a hypothetically healthy person (I've never met one and I doubt you have either but thankfully that doesn't stop us from using them as a reference somehow) would take time to enjoy quite a bit of both. And all art (again, especially longform art) has elements of both, because it's all very subjective! A piece of revelatory art that is making a point about something you've already internalized and understood isn't going to rock your world, but it might be entertaining. And likewise, while I would be mildly concerned for you if you walked out of, say, Michael Bay's Transformers with a fundamentally altered outlook on life, my horror does not make your revelation any less valid. This is something I think we should work to internalize as a culture, and the first step for that is to stop using negative-connotated language about our own entertainment.
So yeah. Relaxation and revelation. Those are my suggestions. What do y'all think?
reposting this so staff will have a harder time trying to make everyone forget it <3
if you're a man and you consider your imagined female version to both be more likeable and have "more personality" I have incredible news to share with you. I think you know what it is
