People who are anti-gun control act so bizarrely when you bring up that 60% of gun deaths are suicides and that a person is much more likely to shoot themself with their own gun (purposefully or accidentally) than discharge it in self defense and that having a gun in a house actually makes the house more dangerous for the occupants and not safer. I’m not even a gun hater. I grew up around guns. I think shooting is fun. I think ethical hunting with guns is good. I just think continuously stating that you need guns for self protection and that guns actually make you safer when there is evidence to the contrary is extremely bad. Guns are fun. They are. But they’re not safety tools.

Also, I am just going to say it:

If your CEO is so inconsequential to the success of your company that he can be gunned down in the street like a dog and it has absolutely no impact on your company whatsoever, maybe he doesn't actually need to be paid several hundred times as much as your median employee.

Maybe you could get away with, like, ten to fifteen times and spend the extra tens of millions of dollars you save on something else.

i know i've said this a lot i'm just sooo exhausted with the casual cruelty of the internet i genuinely don't think you guys have any awareness of how badly you've been poisoned. every day i watch people i follow gleefully feed into it by embracing "haterism" and finding new and exciting ways to make interpersonal violence cute and memeable. you can contribute to making the world a worse and more unsafe place for everyone as long as you learn therapy words and reblog a mutual aid request every once in a while for cover
