FUKING MOST BEAUTIFUL POST IVE EVER SEEN DEAR FUCKING CHRIST BLESS
Itâs the 10 year anniversary of 2009âŠ

salem was very trully representative of the gays. Like i watched my fair share of lgbt movie but this cat held more of my identity and culture than any gay character on tv

Songs with the same bpm but played over different than original video tracks give me life

good job baby
Iâm so proud and I donât even know who this dog is
âHow can we take down this flag and erase the honor of those proud Americans-â
Confederates werenât Americans. They were actual, honest-to-god Not Americans; that was the whole fucking point of the Civil War. They were a bunch of people who collectively said âfuck Americaâ and then spent years desperately fighting in order to not be Americans anymore. Flying the Confederate flag doesnât honor Americans, it honors Confederates, and they donât exist anymore because they lost the war, so there is no goddamn point to this flag ever at all. Right-wing folks really love to talk about âanti-American sentimentsâ and âtreasonâ until it comes to the (white) people who actually did commit treason and were anti-American in every sense of the word.Â
ALL OF THIS
and it was all because they wanted to keep slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaves
Also, they didnât fly those damned flags in the years following the Civil War, they only flew them again after the Civil Rights Act was passed. They were literally flown to protest the abolishment of Jim Crow.Â
There are two appropriate places for Confederate flags:
a) inside of museum displays, with accurate historical context, so that future generations donât make the same damn mistakes
b) the trash can
I thought about the appropriateness of using them in Civil War Reenactments, but that particular flag wasnât universally flown on the battlefield, and if youâre going to reenact historical battles as a hobby you should at least get the details right. So even thatâs a maybe.
It is literally my PAID JOB to teach people this. I want to scream this from the rooftops. Bless this post forever and ever, amen.
Treason is what that flag represents, at its very most generous interpretation. Racism and slavery are its heart.
An American patriot wouldnât be caught dead with it.
Me: I donât know if I ever want to be pregnant, Iâd rather adopt a kid or two that are a bit older
Someone: Are you SURE? Older adoptees present UNIQUE CHALLENGES
Me: We are discussing human beings not digital pets
Literally every child every born and/or parented presents unique challenges. Itâs like people are unique individualsâŠ..or somethingâŠâŠâŠâŠ.
An amazing and revolutionary concept
When people ask me, âWhy do you want to adopt teenagers?â I always answer, âBecause you asked like that.â
Iâm real over it. If I become a foster mom to a 17 year old kid and I get the privilege of the option to adopt them? You better believe I am legally making that kid mine.
âTheyâll be a legal adult in no time, why spend the money to adopt? Theyâll be aged out of the system.â
Thereâs no aging out of family, Marvin.
âThey might be rebellious or smoke or do drugs or steal things! What if they wonât listen to you?â
Then I guess Iâll have to step up and do some fruxking parenting, Stanley.
âYou want to adopt problem children then?â
All. Children. Are. Problem. Children. If youâre not prepared to deal with the fact that at some point, any child ever, whether you birthed them yourself or adopted them at any age, could become a problem? Then you are NOT ready to have children, and should really just step off and let the people who actually want to be parents live in peace with their kids.
Hey Iâm so glad this post is picking up
âOlder children are so difficult why would adopt them??â ALL CHILDREN ARE DIFFICULT GUESS WE SHOULDNâT HAVE ANY GODDAMN
I love this post so, so much.
because apparently this needs to be said AGAIN
in the most general aesthetic terms possible
1600s:Â most witch-hunts ended in this century. no witches were burned in North America; they were hanged or in one case pressed to death
1700s:Â the American Revolution. Marie Antoinette. the French Revolution. the crazy King George. most pirate movies
1800-1830:Â Jane Austen! Pride and Prejudice! those dresses where the waist is right under oneâs boobs and men have a crapton of facial hair inside high collars
1830-1900:Â Victorian. Les Miserables is at the beginning, the Civil War is in the middle, and Dracula is at the end
1900-1920: Edwardian. Titanic, World War I, the Samantha books from American Girl, Art Nouveau
1920s: Great Gatsby. Jazz Age. Flappers and all that. most people get this right but IT IS NOT VICTORIAN. STUFF FROM THIS ERA IS NOT VICTORIAN. DO NOT CALL IT VICTORIAN OR LIST IT ON EBAY AS VICTORIAN. THAT HAPPENS SURPRISINGLY OFTEN GIVEN HOW STAGGERING THE VISUAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ERAS IS. also not 100 years ago yet, glamour.com â100 years of Xâ videos. youâre lazy, glamour.com. youâre lazy and I demand my late Edwardian styles
I just saw people referencing witch burning and Marie Antoinette on a post about something happening in 1878. 1878. when there were like trains and flush toilets and early plastic and stuff. if you guys learn nothing else about history, you should at least have vague mental images for each era
