The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.
Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.
So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.
Bears. They’re everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.
oh shit
As the OP of this post, I’m going to threaten that if this gets to one million notes by the 10 year anniversary on 1 June 2026, one year from today, I will get a lower back tattoo of the loch ness bear monster.
Y'all know what to do Tumblr.
welcome to ‘no note bungus’. reblog and you will feel a sense of accomplishment and goodwill wash over you
Shots from a PHM animatic I’m doing which I’m planning to post tomorrow!
Edit: it’s now out!!
I copy pasted parts of this but I do hand letter everything, because while I'm trying to work easier as I'm chronically ill, I am still chronically stupid
Feeling this hard. My 14 year old beloved pug passed away on Monday.

"girls could NeVeR!!1!1! beat '''''males''''''™ in athletics????? it's BiOlOgY!??!?!?"
idk bud have you tried um. feeding them
these murderous idiots are teaching young girls and women to be afraid of calories when eating a LOT of calories is literally vital for performing well in competitive sports. and then claiming it's 'natural' to uphold sex segregation bc of this imposed malnutrition. it's fucking crazymaking.
the mechanics here are truly horrific. systematically deny [cis] women athletes adequate nutrition and hydration, overwork and injure them. deprive them of the ability to realize the true extent of their strength and skill. segregate athletics based on false ideas of "sex" based on generations of malnourishment and poor training. blame trans woman athletes for the mere possibility that one might beat a cis woman, while claiming that the cis woman's defeat is inevitable. create emotionally stressful and often sexually humiliating tests to "purify" competitive athletics rather than foster the physical health of athletes. continue punishing all women for daring to play sports + have bodies.
Fyi as soon as I started passing as a man gaining weight was suddenly a good thing. People congratulated me. I still have the fears that most women acquire as they are socialised, among which is a fear of gaining weight or "looking fat" (which literally only applies to me and no one else). I fear the number going up even though I go to the gym 2-3 times a week, and I know my body composition is pretty healthy and balanced.
Societal expectations impose eating disorders on women and afab people.
shoutout ppl w tooth gaps btw. or overbites. or underbites. or crossbites. or uneven teeth. or other dental conditions. and also ppl who don’t want to/can’t afford to get that stuff changed/"fixed". ily

I had braces for 5 1/2 years. I'm missing my two front bottom teeth and have peg lateral incisors. I've chosen to love my funky pointy teeth. Partially because you couldn't pay me to get dental surgery again.
"Are you good in bed?" No, I can't sleep.
What they don’t tell you about speaking multiple languages is that your brain does not in fact have a box labeled Spanish and another one labeled German. Instead it has a box labeled “Not English” and sometimes when you’re talking or writing in one of the languages you speak it will just start pulling random words from that box.
I just wrote down “Tengo eine Katze” and then put my head in my hands
If it makes you feel any better I once wrote an entire French test in Spanish. I also spent literally ten minutes trying to remember the word for tree in French (arbre) while writing an in-class paper and could only remember it in Spanish (árbol).
Rapists, and killers, too? Really? (Those on death-row?) The drug/prostitution problems are just a portion of USA criminals.
yes, all criminals. the moment you say “except X criminal” is the moment that people will try to convict their opponents as having committed X crime.
it’s the same thing as what’s going on right now with people equating drag to some sort of child exploitation. “but the children!!” they wail, and people listen because oh, if drag is harming children, then drag MUST be BAD, so we HAVE TO BAN DRAG.
do you understand what i’m saying? you can’t take away the rights of any category of criminal, because suddenly that category will be overflowing with people who totally 100% definitely committed that horrible crime.
Just to look at this from one step further back, let's accept the premise. Let's imagine that there is a type of crime that is 1) horrible evil irredeemable universally-agreed-upon bad, and 2) could somehow be prosecuted with 100% accuracy and 0% bias. Yes, even then, those criminals deserve a right to vote.
Do you they're going to like vote themselves out of jail? Vote to make murder legal? What exactly are you afraid of.
Realistically they'll just... vote just like anyone else. They'll help elect city councilmembers they think will better their hometowns, and presidents they think will best serve the country. They might even vote in their own interests! To reform prisons, fund rehabilitation programs, and outlaw predatory practices by telecoms. Are you saying you don't want any of those things?
And even if there were one of those super-duper-unambiguously-evil totally misanthropic death-row convicts, who's scheduled to be execute the very next day and just wants to sow chaos and watch the outside world burn however they can... what's the worst they could do, vote republican?
Taking people's rights away isn't bad because it might happen to someone you like, it's because taking people's rights away is bad.
do people think that convicted serial killers are going to vote to legalize serial killing
Hi. You, yes, you reading this right now. Come here, I need to tell you something. And I need you to know I'm being 100% serious when I say this.
You're a human, yes? Moreover, you would consider yourself a person? Here's the deal. You know how there's ~8 billion other humans also living on Earth right now? They're all people too.
I know this sounds obvious. I am not being facetious. I need you to internalise this fact. Every unit (1 human) in the at times unfathomably large number of 8 billion, represents someone with both unique and shared thoughts, opinions, and lived experiences. And, generally speaking, people too often forget this fact.
Every tragedy you hear about has affected other people both like and unlike you.
Do you (speaking mostly to people in the so called "global north" here) know why you aren't a refugee? Geographical luck. Do you know why your country is not being bombed right now? Geographical luck - and it's probably the country you live in doing the bombing and/or supplying weapons. Do you know why you have access to the conveniences available to you? Geographical luck - and active exploitation and subjugation of people who do not benefit from your geographical luck.
The people outside of your bubble are not just fragments of people. They are not NPCs. They are other humans.
If something would be unacceptable if it were to happen in your home to your family or to your country, why is it acceptable in other countries happening to other people?
I want you to think about that.
And please understand, I know that's overhwelming. I know dehumanizing other people is easier. But just because it makes you comfortable doesn't make it right. The people who benefit and profit from the dehumanization of others don't want you to humanize them. Because if you do, you might just realize the things they are doing are abhorrent crimes against humanity.
(also you should care about the other creatures and animals and plants that make up our world, it doesn't work without them)

Hey has anyone asked Andy Weir why his main characters always blow up (at least once) in all his books? Just curious
