I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

absolute fucking nightmare. my process below.

well shoutout to my friend @bellaleaf first and foremost for narrowing down the time frame. imp was right, the dirt gif shows up EARLY in the records. 2015. this is good. meant i didn't have to search That far, but i still nosed around 2014-2016/17 because these type of posts circulate well past their initial posting.

i used the search feature first. it's not awful for finding stuff from specific years, but reblogs are a no-go. i found plenty of gifsets that dropped around tpp's e3 teaser and started saving a shitload of links.

if a gifset had lyrics plastered onto it, i checked the blog Throroughly. every single metal gear post in their tag. i saved More links. and then i ran into @/zadornov.

a deactivated blog, of course.

i checked 'mutuals' (i assume they were mutuals if they were reblogging from one another frequently). i found plenty more of their gifsets and they were a dead-ringer for the infamous Dirt gif. same font, same style. i kept looking.

and Eventually, when searching in tumblr wasn't working, i went outside of it. pasted "zadornovs-deactivated20160503" into google and narrowed down the search through either "mgsv" or "mgs". more gifsets. this HAD to be the person.

i can't find the link right now because i dug through so fucking many but one of these posts, which i suspected was made by them, mentioned they had moved blogs. couldve been a different person, whatever, but i was lead to one called "v has come to".

link was broken.

i was about to backtrack but, on searching through someone's archive, i found That Same Blog STILL ACTIVE. and HOOOOLY SHIT there's so much in there.

i kept scrolling. dozens of fucking mgs posts. i only knew i was on the right path when, mid-2015 in this metal gear tag, i found the "dirt" gif being used as a meme. and then another. i was close. i could fucking smell it. it had to b

less than 200 hundred notes, the original gifset. scowl thinks it's meant to be "hurt" by nine inch nails, which i also suspect. and oh boy did it hurt. to. dig through the metal gear dirt.

anyway. i found it. yippee. i can rest now.
