the transcription is 100% accurate and yet still doesn’t do it justice somehow
This is going to sound so "oldie yells at cloud" of me but the radicalisation of the young into black and white, zero shades of grey thinking, both in the media they consume and in real life situations, is genuinely terrifying.
The world is complex. The world is grey. There is infinite nuance in everything. No amount of trying to shove it all into neatly labeled boxes is ever going to work.

I'm almost 30 and still amazed you can just walk into a library and pull a book off a shelf and read it, don't even need to ask anyone, can just sit down and read book for free until closing time. There is nothing that free anywhere else that isn't serreptitiouly religious or requiring registration. that's how stuff should be. Libraries are so good
And if you live in the city/county the library is in you can probably even take that book home for free. Not just "can" but are actively encouraged to.
i’ve been diagnosed with needy and annoying disease. i will be put down now.
Honestly bizarre that tomatoes get all the flack for “not being a vegetable” because they're technically a fruit when:
A) There are a ton of fruits that get categorised as vegetables. Like this also applies to pumpkins, squashes and cucumbers.
B) The fucking mushrooms are standing there at the back of the crowd in this witch trial, trying to look inconspicuous because they somehow got into the vegetable club with no fucking controversy despite the fact that they're not even plants.
Alone.

Antique safe made in France around ~1780 / 1810. With three keys and a combination of ordered switches
All this fuss about password security when it turns out that security peaked in 1780
Can I be so 100% honest rn every time I see someone like freaking out scandalized by sexual elements in horror I'm kind of just sitting here like Yeah dude I love combining the erotic and grotesque it's my favorite pastime. What do you mean "the writer's barely disguised fetish" are we supposed to be disguising it? I think the throat-fuck guy is perfect for directing the new alien movie. Get with it
Now obviously "horror with sexual themes" is extremely broad. Not all of it is Good. Like the misogyny in 80s slashers or those occasional art films that expect you to be scared of women's sexuality in itself. I fucking hated antichrist sorry. But yknow. The thing is that horror is kind of About exploring what's nasty and shocking, societal fears, what we're Not Supposed To Talk About, & there's considerable overlap there with Sexuality. There is such a thin line between fear and arousal this is like, known. "Ermmm so this is Definitely Fetish Material" yeah? And?
prev tags were good
[ID: tags from @biracy that read, "#also like. so you're comfortable with horror as a genre and all the violence it carries with it #but the mere possibility of 'fetish material' makes you completely shut down? #what makes murder and torture acceptable in fiction but anything slightly sexual not? why is sex considered separate from other human acts? #curious" /end ID]
Literally. People get so weird about the concept of "fetish material" like there are Secret Perverts lurking around infecting things with Horny Cooties. And yknow they *could* be focusing that energy on the actual real problems with sexual exploitation in the entertainment industry, but they're not, people just like pointing and going "ewww this guy's Weird" & it's so tiring
