if you watched xena before the canon f/f ships of 2016-2019, it’s just like. nothing hits enough compared to six seasons of relationship development and camp antics and absolute balls to the wall tragedy. one time gabrielle’s antichrist daughter murders xena’s son and they have such a horrible rift that xena throws gabrielle off a cliff and they have to do a musical episode to forgive each other (one lyric is “the love of your love is you” and they HOLD HANDS THROUGH A WATERFALL) and one time gabrielle dies so xena travels miles and miles to join her in the amazonian afterlife ALSO THEY HAVE A DAUGHTER AND EXPLICITLY GABRIELLE IS THE SECOND PARENT, plus her biological second parent is xena’s former enemy whos’s ALSO a woman. xena and gabrielle are soulmates in multiple aus and future timelines. one time beowulf met them and was like “hello lesbians, let’s get this bread" (the sacred rheingold ring so odin’s wife can go back to asgaard.) xena personally caused the ides of march. gabrielle friendzones homer. god it’s like. where is that energy!! where is it!!
