we were planning on visiting our friend and her wife in madison at the end of june but the plans just fell through bc apparently they forgot to like...put it on their calendar? jack was getting ready to buy train tickets and our friend was like "hm well my wife is going to be out of town that weekend...oh and i have to work some of those days" ??? and it fell apart from there

i think it was basically an honest mistake and i'm trying to be cool about it but there's a big part of me that's like hey what the fuck? also a big part that's just sad sad sad. idk dude we're just grieving our cat and we kept being like "well this really sucks but at least we have our trip in june to see our very good friends" and damn i guess our friends barely thought about us. feels like shit! it's just been soooo so many weeks of "i just gotta get through this week" do you know what i mean

gf had to renew her passport and we're not sure why but it did come back with an F on it. like okay i will take it!! don't get me wrong! but...what are they doing over there. what are the rules

i'm listening to an old interview with melissa gira grant and jules gill-peterson about the lavender scare and its like...historical revision, and they were just talking about how the lavender scare was in part a reaction to the sprawling state bureaucracy that existed in the 50s, as a result of the new deal. and how we just don't have that kind of state anymore. the state is still being used to ferret out perverts but the ferreting is sloppy and haphazard because they just don't have any fucking money or personnel lol
