@n-hexane
Always bear in mind that there is absolutely no legitimate evidence that Luigi was actually the one who killed the insurance company guy.
Of course he wasn't. He was at a party with me that day.
No but like literally, actually. All bits aside.
He didn't do it.
The cops very clearly planted evidence on him because they had to make an arrest because all eyes were on them and whoever actually did the deed was making them look stupid.
Why would the real killer hero have kept the weapon on his person and traveled two states over while carrying it and a manifesto in his bag, conveniently turning the crime into a federal matter? The same guy whose bag they found in a park, filled with monopoly money? Why did the police turn off their bodycams, take Luigi's stuff, drive a block away, turn their bodycams back on, go back into the restaurant, and then arrest him?
From the moment of his arrest, even left-of-center media has been presuming his guilt without examining anything (e.g. calling him "the killer" instead of "alleged" or "accused") and then when I say he didn't do it, the nearest person chimes in with some quip that tells me they think he did do it but should go free anyway. Don't get me wrong, I would have the same attitude if he had done it. But he didn't. It makes me feel like the only sane person in the world, even among my staunchly leftist friends.

Elizabeth Kirkman Fitzhugh, Militant Mary
November 13, 1914
I had never heard of this character before, but it really was published over a hundred years ago. Here’s a comics blog talking about her, and a couple more gems:
It's hard to believe that this blog has been running over a dozen years now, and I am just now getting around to mak

Link to the article itself.
From the article:
The past: “On a budget of just twenty-four dollars per American—out of the fifteen thousand dollars in taxes paid per person last year [or less than a fifth of what E.M. reportedly paid for twitter, or less than 1/100th of the yearly US military budget] —they had saved lives at an almost unimaginable scale. An independent, peer-reviewed analysis in The Lancet estimated that U.S.A.I.D. assistance had saved ninety-two million lives over two decades.”
The present: “We are now witnessing what the historian Richard Rhodes termed “public man-made death,” which, he observed, has been perhaps the most overlooked cause of mortality in the last century. ... As of November 5th, it estimated that U.S.A.I.D.’s dismantling has already caused the deaths of six hundred thousand people, two-thirds of them children. The toll is appalling and will continue to grow. But these losses will be harder to see than those of war. For one, they unfold slowly. When H.I.V. or tuberculosis goes untested, unprevented, or inadequately treated, months or years can pass before a person dies. The same is true for deaths from vaccine-preventable illnesses.”
The short documentary “Rovina’s Choice” tells the story of what goes when aid goes.
This is weird bevause ive had this exact thought before
Actually it really does help to paint the picture
"why don't you set an alarm to remind yourself to put your marbles in your bag?" i will fill your shoes with goo
[Image description: screenshot of text that reads:
ADHD is like everyone has to hold 100 marbles and you're the only one without a bag
Youre trying to manage the same stuff everybody else is able to manage but marbles keep falling out of your hands. And neurotypical people are giving advice like "well, why don't you just put them in your bag?"
BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A BAG.
Maybe you're struggling to carry only 50 marbles, and you see people around you easily managing 150, which is bitterly discouraging. But the fact that you can even hold on to that many is incredible BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A BAG, BUT YOU'RE STILL TRYING.
Medication is like having a bag with a hole in it. It's so much better than what you're used to so when you start using it you feel on top of the world. Then you notice that marbles are slowly falling out and you think "what's the point, it's just as bad as before." But you have to remember it's still worth it.
The worst thing you can do is trip on the marbles you've dropped. That's my biggest struggle. I focus on one little thing I've messed up and all of a sudden I've come crashing down and drop all the marbles I was able to hold minutes before.
I don't really know where I'm going with this but as soon as I thought of the analogy I hyperfixated on it (of course) and had to share it. Hopefully this helps you in some way, maybe as a way to explain ADHD to people who don't get it.

There needs to be more allowance for disabled people to be angry. People want us to be somber and quiet. Sad at our condition and how hard life is. And yeah that’s allowed. But we’re also allowed to be fucking pissed off. People don’t help, people infantilise, governments don’t supply enough support, places aren’t accessible. This isn’t momentary. This is forever. There are so many things we can’t do and so many things we can’t be. Life isn’t fair. It likely won’t get fair enough for most to be comfortable. Yeah, I’m grieving, I’m sad, but I’m also FUCKING ANGRY.
actually I think you're lying about your lived experience and the proof I have is that i asked the warped and evil strawman version of you that I built to live inside my mind and it said you're full of shit and you never have good intentions ever
Said every chronic pain doc ever
average us republican bill: The 'Powerful Angel Blessed Love Peace And Smiling Babies Bill' provides 1 trillion dollars in funding for death camps and makes it a felony offense to cast satanic curses on soccer moms. voted in by every republican and john fetterman
average us democratic bill: The 'Affordable Sensible Moderation And Financing Bill' gives multinational corporations a 3% tax cut for buying carbon credits from tesla and allows the Senate Budget Analysis Comittee to convene biyearly on whether shutting orphan crushing plants could reduce the deficit. fails in the senate because joe manchin refuses to vote for it
average us bipartisan bill: The 'Security of Our Defensive Homeland Safety and Securtiy Act' gives the president a big red button that kills a hundred brown people at random every time it's pressed. if you complain about the button the FBI come to your house. passes the senate 99-0
Gotta admit the headline is a banger.
rolling stone: every person in a position of power in the US collaborated together to do this to you. the media sold you out for profit and aided in the indoctrination of millions to right-wing xenophobia via instilling a fake crime panic. Biden sold you out by putting his own selfish ambitions before the wellbeing of 330~ million citizens by running for a 2nd term and failing to undo any of the cruelty and pain done to people who were hurt under Trump and in some cases making the pain worse. the rest of the Democratic party sold you out by falling in line, normalizing Trumps rhetoric and becoming Republican Lite. Federal law enforcement sold you out via Merrick Garland doing absolutely positively nothing to prosecute right-wing extremism, falsely adding to the Trump narrative that it wasn't all that serious. and most of all, corporations sold you out as they always do, by working together to falsely inflate prices over the last 4 years, causing the economy to appear far worse to the (yet again) unwitting public who have been totally devastated and in some cases made homeless. this also dooms the Democrats on the economy for the foreseeable future. hold these institutions accountable.
you, a person completely immune to being radicalized through propaganda: the american people really dropped the ball here
what a beautiful post to summarize my hatred towards "this is the voters' fault" posts.
If y'all have as many guillotine dreams as me, you better know the name Peter Thiel who we can directly blame for shit like Facebook and the entirety of launching JD Vance on the national stage.
If you're rattling off names of mega rich assholes who "got us here" don't forget to list him right after Musk and Zuck.
we seriously need to stop conceding to the personhood trap when it comes to abortion rights. is a fetus a person? thats a spiritual question. i dont care about the answer. should another person dictate what someone can do with their body? simple answer: no.
like if a fetus isnt a person it has no right to my body and if a fetus IS a peson it also has no right to my body because there is no other context in which we are required to put ourselves at risk of physical harm to preserve another persons safety or even life.
you dont have to save someone from drowning even if youre a strong swimmer. even in death youre not required to donate organs and that could save several people. you can kill someone if you truly believe your safety is at risk. we dont mandate preservation of life over autonomy in any of these circumstances.
the procrastinator’s mind will invent distractions you’ve never conceived of in order to avoid tasks even a dog could do.
