Having been named after a character in The Great Gatsby by my English-major dad, I thought I would ask about this.

All my life I was told that my dad just liked the name he gave me. This past year I learned that I was named after a intellectually disabled guy that my dad knew in HS who was like, my dads biggest fan. I'm still sort of tumbling that around in my mind.

washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes

Just adding a little rant here because this picture led to the straw that broke the camels back. But like, Read the room. Seriously, take a moment to consider how what you say could be interpreted and what effect it could have.

Twice now, the same person has left a, frankly, rude comment on two different pieces of my art, somebody I was mutuals with on a different site. I was caught really off guard but I don't have the energy to deal with all that. The first time, I didn't reply or delete the comment. But after the second time, I'm just not interested in providing an opportunity for it to happen again. So I unwatched and blocked the person and tbh we don't interact as much anymore anyway so meh. But both times I was like, "why would you say that?" I don't require my watchers to interact with my uploads so if the only thing you can think of when you see a particular piece is something negative, then just don't comment, please.

Apparently too the Dead Malls of Discord (DMOD) server got killed off by a picture Sal took of the music sheet he was playing which had two very small images of his dogs and red annotations on it.

My blood work came back normal though so idk.

So sometimes I get home and I'm awake for like an hour, then I wake up for work, rinse and repeat. Then on the weekends, I'm at my boyfriends house.

He knows about my drawing hobby and he's seen some of my stuff, but hauling my tablet and laptop around is a huge pain. So I normally just leave it at home.

So TL;DR

No time for art :( I've barely been posting on the BTB server I'm in too :((

Rambling about art lol

I sometimes look at my older art and think my art regressed

But then I remember I've been sad and not as consistent and confident with my art as of late so no wonder I'm getting a bit lazy with it or maybe don't like some pieces

I'm just going to try and keep experimenting more on what direction I want my art to go in. I also should pull more art style inspiration with more variety than the same thing constantly lol.

I've at the very least have been grabbing references more often with help which is nice. You can't constantly nail poses and anatomy first try so it doesn't hurt to have references. There was definitely a point with my art where I felt like constantly trying to nail everything on my own, and I still wish I could do that sometimes wkdjw.

These are some like art pieces I look back and enjoy I definitely miss doing pixel art sometimes. Maybe I've been too critical of my art over time still even if I don't think of it. It is probably why my art has been mostly doodles and posted here often than not. Got to get confident with my art again
