Life is about balance. Be kind, but don’t let people abuse you. Trust, but don’t be deceived. Be content, but never stop improving yourself.

This resonates.
I like both of these, but you`ve got to live with it.
Such a special night for them.
Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish transform into hobbits in Men in Kilts clip
Nasty, Filthy Sexy Hobbitses.
By Maureen Lee LenkerAugust 31, 2023
Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are trading time travel standing stones for one ring to rule them all.
In an exclusive clip from Friday's episode of their Starz travel series Men in Kilts, Heughan and McTavish transform into creatures of Middle Earth. While McTavish is given the ears and long hair of an elf, Heughan (and his impressive biceps) are made over into a dwarf, complete with curly red hair, a matted beard, and a bulbous nose.
Heughan surprises McTavish with his new look in the clip, sending the two of them into giggles as they touch each other's prosthetic ears. Heughan even puts on a rumbly, thick accent and crouches a little to really get into character.
While the first season of Men in Kilts followed the two Outlander stars around their homeland of Scotland, this second season has sent them south of the equator to New Zealand.
"The combination of Graham now living there and the country having such a rich Scottish history made it the perfect location for the second season," director Kevin Johnston previously told EW of the reason behind their new locale.
While they spend plenty of time chasing thrills on ziplines and exploring the natural beauty of New Zealand, no trip to the Kiwi nation is complete without a taste of its most famous exports — the Weta Workshop and the Lord of the Rings franchise.
Watch the clip above for more. Men in Kilts airs Fridays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on Starz.

You see how she explained how race is a social construct (it is) while ALSO SAYING THAT RACISM EXISTS AND IS FUCKED UP? You see how she did that? Don’t mistake this for colorblindness because it clearly isn’t.

Unsolicited Advice For Newbies
So you are a newbie, welcome to the shipper/standing on the shore/neutral/chilled out/fun side of the OL fandom. I’m glad you have decided to joined us. My advice .. that you didn’t ask for/handy shit that I wish I knew when I jumped on this tub ….
1. Don’t doubt your gut feeling. That bitch is usually right.
2. Stay strong in whatever it is that you believe.
3. Do not get sucked into the narrative. It’s entertaining, but it’s nothing more than that.
4. Remember what we see, re the narrative, is just business, nothing more nothing less. It’s not about them, Sam and Cait, it’s about money, and not Sam and Cait’s money. Simple as that. No Sir, it’s purely about the studio suits doing what Hollywood studio’s have done since the beginning of time, lie, cheat and deceive the fans. All in the name of making more money.
5. The studio’s do not see Sam and Cait as living, breathing humans that have feelings. No, they are only viewed as assets, money makers, nothing more.
6. When the narrative takes a turn down ‘fuck here we go again’ street, look at it through logical and common sense sunnies.
7. If you view the narrative, aka the shit show, through an emotional lens, you are going to burn out and lose your shit, quicker than you can say “fake wedding”.
8. A good rant is always welcomed here, but I would suggest you don’t post anything when you’re in a highly emotional state. Chill a bit, have a ponder about things, then post what you want to say.
9. Do not hesitate to hit the unfollow or block buttons.
10. There are times around here that no matter how much you dodge, duck, dip, and dive you still gunna get hit with shit. And sometimes it can start to suck the life out of you.
11. Try not to get stuck on the surface layer of shit re the narrative. The surface stuff they show/give us means jack shit.
12. Don’t take anything personally. If you’re one of those people who do, this is not going to be the fun and enjoyable experience you think it will be. Taking things personally will just lead you to be in a constant state of being pissed off.
13. Be respectful to others, it’s a good look to have. What isn’t a good look, nastiness, intolerance, rudeness, spitefulness, inconsiderate, holier than thou, manipulative, and judgemental.
**MOST IMPORTANTLY CHILL THE FUCK OUT AND ENJOY, HAVE FUN**
Anyone else wanna add their unsolicited advice ….
@widchadidcha …..dear Lord….where have you been????? We’ve missed you so much. I want to send you a special gift….something that is so precious that you will know how much we have missed you. So I give you a choice…..Tbag or RDM or STARZ front office or my son (who has not called me in two weeks). The loyal S/C shippers were on “life support” and you just saved us. Welcome back, you fucking genius.
Well it just so happens @mrsd79 I have kept the pimp hand strong ✋ and it’s more than ready to dish out bitch slaps to all of the above mentioned contestants. Namaste 🙏 Especially you Mrs D’s son, you’re being a turd .. call your mother❗️
For the newbies.🙂
Glad you’re back @widchadidcha! I’m co-signing your very wise advice. As I said before my mantra has always been “I have faith and trust in Sam and Caitriona” That’s what’s kept me faithful as a fan to them since October 13, 2013. Went from shipping to believing based on tons of receipts and personal, logical analysis.I’m not going to lie. It hasn’t been easy on this roller coaster ride but I stayed the course. I’ve never bashed them. I’ve never walked in their shoes so who am I to make any judgement. Been staying in my own lane and believing happily. One thing though, I don’t hesitate to block those who follow nasty antis, deluded Taits, selfish Onlys and haters who denigrate the Heughans. They don’t belong in our playground. So if you are here, be firm in your belief. If you are a fence sitter, make up your mind: jump in and join in the fun or jump out, leave, end your misery about the Heughans and move on and sit on another fence! Peace.

my Outlander journey
When I first read Outlander in the spring of 2005, I was captivated by so many things. The plot. The characters. The setting. The tragedy. The soul-deep love between Jamie and Claire.
Then I looked online to find places where other people were just as captivated by the story as I was - and found two. The Ladies of Lallybroch, and Diana Galbadon’s Compuserve forum (that was the only place she’d post comments and excerpts - remember this is waaaay before Facebook/Twitter/etc.) In both places I found a group of terrific, like-minded Outlander fanatics with whom I could discuss and debate and squee all about this incredible story.
And the consensus at the time was - isn’t it too bad that Outlander can never be adapted into a movie or miniseries? Because it’s just too difficult. But that’s OK, because if an adaptation is done, it has to be done the *right* way. And no two-hour movie or six-hour miniseries could *ever* do justice to the plot and the characters. And how could anyone *ever* find the right actors to play Jamie and Claire, anyway?
So this was the status quo for about 8 years - until I saw on Compuserve in 2013 that Starz would be adapting Outlander. And then the later news that two complete unknowns had been cast as Jamie and Claire.
I was very, very skeptical. Because I know that everyone had one chance - just one chance - to do this the right way. After living with these characters for 8 years, I felt (and still feel) extremely protective of them. It didn’t matter to me that Diana Gabaldon had signed off on it - and that Ronald D. Moore would be producing. I honestly didn’t know how they would do it.
So it was with much trepidation in August 2014 that I watched the first episode of Outlander. I had ignored all the discussion on Ladies of Lallybroch and Compuserve, with people speculating about what would be adapted from the book, how it would be adapted, and whether it would be a good quality adaptation. I wanted to come to it fresh and open-minded.
It was so, so jarring to see on the screen the iconic scenes that I’d read over and over and over again. To see Caitriona Balfe *become* Claire, right from the very beginning. I was deeply impressed by her - I immediately believed that she *was* Claire. Had become Claire.
As soon as she touched the stone - I thought, well, I wonder how long it will take her to make her way to the cottage, and to Jamie.
The scene where she sets his shoulder - OK, I’ll admit I liked it. To be fair, Sam Heughan wasn’t really given a lot to work with, except to sit there and brood and be injured. He could do that. OK, fine.
Then the horse ride in the dark - and the “I suppose that means you’re coming with me” scene. Hmm. Well the guy is good-looking, I’ll give you that. But I didn’t see Jamie yet.
And then - and then - and then:
“Stop - help - he’s going over!”
Jamie falls to the ground. Claire curses at him as she doctors him.
And Sam Heughan became Jamie to me with one split-second look:
Because in that look, he embodied EVERYTHING that Jamie is. He’s hurt, and confused, and STRUCK DUMB by this strange Sassenach.
You all know that I can quote the Outlander series chapter and verse - so this iconic passage popped into my mind:
“When I asked my da how ye knew which was the right woman, he told me when the time came, I’d have no doubt. And I didn’t. When I woke in the dark under that tree on the road to Leoch, with you sitting on my chest, cursing me for bleeding to death, I said to myself, ‘Jamie Fraser, for all ye canna see what she looks like, and for all she weighs as much as a good draft horse, this is the woman.’ ”
For Sam Heughan *perfectly* captured the moment when Jamie fell in love with Claire.
To see this on screen - after reading this passage so many times and loving these characters so deeply, for so many years - brought tears to my eyes.
In this moment, Sam Heughan became Jamie. Without saying anything, he proved his incredible depth and attention to nuance as an actor. He proved his commitment to getting Jamie *right* - to showing who he is as a man.
And my skepticism vanished - and I was hooked.
So - Sam, wherever you are, happy birthday. Thank you for bringing Jamie so lovingly - and honestly - to life. You have given me a gift I never thought I’d have. And for that I am so incredibly grateful - for it not only made me happy, but it brought me to all of you. =)
