i hate the way fat antagonists have their weight moralized and used as a metaphor for greed and corruption and i hate the way it's overcorrected into fat people being "soft squishy friend-shaped cupcakes who look like they give incredible hugs" and i long for the day we have nuanced, interesting, and complicated fat characters and most of all i long for the day people are normal about fatness
a big part of my issue with art is that i'm terrified to share anything I actually care about publicly, so every once in a while i go to a handful of discord servers with other artists and am brave enough to share something and hope maybe the response there will make me realize i've actually made something worth anything, but it almost always ends up getting words that scan as the most "trying to think of something polite to say" feedback ever to me and I end up getting scared and deleting it and retreating further into feeling ashamed. i can't get over this cycle at all
There's always a moment of intense cultural whiplash whenever I realize I'm talking to someone who thinks "legal" and "illegal" are meaningful categories and ascribes innate goodness to following the law. It's like meeting a space alien.
Let me give you all a tip that I doubt will be helpful for you, do not build a house if you do not already own a house. You might see “new construction, buy the lot and pay us and we’ll build this” listings on real estate sites, do not fall for them. A shitty one bedroom bird in the hand is better than a three bedroom new construction in the bush. These contractors suck ass. There is an 85% chance it will take YEARS to build that house and they will do it so incorrectly you will spend the rest of your life suing them to fix it. It’s not ALWAYS a scam but it is not a risk you want to take if you’re already renting and scraping buy. Get a house with good bones (get a private inspection) and work on making it your dream house, avoid paying for the concept of a house.
There has to be a way to dress gothy and masc in a way that's also comfy. Like "clothes that could also double as pyjamas" level of comfy wear.

Do you have tips on how to style sweatpants in a dressy, goth way?
you can get black sweat pants online from any store or goth specific stores if you want a definitive goth look with skulls and crosses or rips and shit, but to be really honest? As a goth myself, I just wear cheap thrifted shit thgat came black or I dyed black and an oversized hoodie with whatever band i like or skull pattern fits the vibe of the day. Oversized shirts and tank tops also work.
you're not gonna make them look fancy, im sorry. Casual is a genre and it clashes with dressy or fancy.
I don't want to look like I'm wearing sweatpants. I don't want my "it's illegal to be naked so I just threw some shit on" outfits to look like I just threw some shit on because it's illegal to be naked.
I'm not sure why you don't already find masc gothy comfy? Can you elaborate on the sort of stuff you wear that you don't find to be the comfy stuff?
Baggy, black cargos were always the staple trouser in my circles, easy to apply stuff to and build up to be more than "just cargos" when ya want, comfy and easy to wear plane. I know you said pajamas but this was essentially our athletics wear (we were parkour kids)
As for top half, can never go wrong with baggy hoodies, personally always a fan of long sleeved, tight fitting tee under whatever else I'm wearing but that's just my idea of comfort and I know most folks would prefer to keep it baggy.
My waist is my narrowest part and I have thick thighs. For me, menswear comes in two options: looks bad, or feels bad. There are outliers that are both, and I feel like I need to clarify that I don't need anyone suggesting something that looks bad and feels bad at the same time, I specifically want the opposite of this.
Besides the comfy pants I wear at home, I own three pairs of bottoms: the zip-off goth jorts which I like but are uncomfortable, my suit pants which are good enough but are uncomfortable, and my sweatpants which are sweatpants.
I have no particular problem with shirts, they all fit just fine and none except skin tight ones look particularly bad. The problem is pants.
I think I kinda understand your problem with the pants.
I would suggest pants that are straight cut, this will help give a more masc shapeless look. Barrel cut could also help give a more masc look by lowering the widest point to your knees. They will be quite roomy in the legs and thus be more comfortable (in my opinion at least).
Now fabrics can also affect the comfort level:
Elasticity is usually more comfortable as it restricts movement less. Do try to find pants that have an elastane content of around 5-7% and the rest being cotton as that will help the pants keep their straight shape and still be a little stretchy. WARNING - clothes with elastane contents wear and tear faster than those without so keep that in mind.
Wool could also be a good option as it does have natural elasticity. If you want a soft wool that does not feel scratchy try to go for worsted (way of spinning wool yarn) wool fabrics. Mens suits are usually made of worsted wool fabrics. Its a bit more of a pricy option but one can find a lot second hand stores or like vinted. Do try to go for 100% wool or at least wool blends with other natural fibers like cotton.
There are certainly types of weaving that can make clothes stretchy without elastane additives but that is its own rabbit hole that i shall leave you to explore. I do recommend the youtuber Nicole Rudolph, she has a whole series on different fabrics and their uses.
Do not go for linnen or silk they have no stretch whatsoever.
You could if you want to add stripes of leggings fabrics to the seams of pant to give them stretch but that does also change the look.
I dont know if any of this helps with the "comfy as pyjamas" but it should make it easier to find more comfortable pants I hope. Good luck!
