Re: the last post, the article mentions that some places use clams to test the toxicity of the water. It’s like that in Warsaw- we get our water from the river, and the main water pump has 8 clams that have triggers attached to their shells. If the water gets too toxic, they close, and the triggers shut off the city water supply automatically.
The clams are just better at measuring the water quality than any man-made sensors.
Edit: check out this documentary trailer : https://vimeo.com/408820791
God Bless Our Troops
They hot glued a spring to a clam and gave it full control over the water supply
No of course not, that would be ridiculous.
They hot glued springs to eight clams and gave them collective control over the water supply.
No of course not, hot glue would kill the clams.
The used silicone adhesive to attach springs to eight clams and gave them collective control over the water supply.
Do you ever get a wave of nostalgia for a hyperfixation that’s never coming back with the same sort of melancholy with which you mourn a lost childhood friend
Like “you consumed my every waking moment for six entire months, and now I haven’t thought about you in years…I miss that passion”

“yes, I’ve been wanting to read that!” I say with complete earnestness, as I proceed to ignore every opportunity I have to read it
“I’ve been meaning to read/watch/listen to that, but the stars are not in position, so I can’t do it yet”

yeah it’s pretty funny

This post was made 7 days ago. What do you mean old content?
This post is a fucking week old
doing my damnedest to free myself of the “just gotta get through this week” “only x more days til the weekend” mindset & learn to appreciate each day for whatever it is lest i be driven to madness
so what if tomorrows monday i have leftovers & maybe this week i will make soup. maybe ill see a cat. maybe each day will show me something worthwhile even if im tired & maybe i can enjoy it
if u are negative on this post im blocking u ! some of us are trying to get better
Cannot get over how accurate those text images are in describing the intonation of the dialogue.

Inspired by this post from @manikas-whims where Amita and Freddy contradict each other on how Kanej would propose to each other. Freddy, it seems, had a way less romantic picture in mind than Amita, and if that doesn't perfectly sum up these two...
"Kaz..." she groans.
"What?"
Inej looks at the paper and the ring laid out in front of her, on Kaz’s desk. The immediate source of her frustration, at the moment.
When she’d imagined him proposing to her, one day in the far-away future, it hadn’t been so... well, so direct.
He was always surprising her, it seemed. Though not always in the ways she wanted.
Trust Kaz Brekker to wring out the romance out of a proposal and do so with ease. On second thought, her flighty fantasies seem like exactly that -- flighty fantasies.
She shakes herself out of her thoughts and attempts to give him another chance to course-correct--
"You're kidding, right?"
"I'm not.” he says, one brow raised, and he’s got that look on his face when he’s trying to figure out something particularly complex. “You said you wanted to get married one day, right?"
"I did,” she agrees.
"Do you not want to marry me?" and the flash of sudden, genuine concern on his face damn nearly makes her laugh, were it not so deadly serious in its countenance.
“Yes,” she says quickly. "Yes, I do want to marry you, Kaz,"
"But,” she continues, “you need to ask in a way that makes me actually want to say yes."
“...and what’s wrong with this?”
Inej throws her hands up in exasperation.
It’s good for the soul okay
