tonight in my fevered state i went on a nostalgia trip back through my old livejournal (which was embarrassing, yeah, but i was fourteen and all fourteen-year-olds are embarrassing) and it's fucking wild to me that i had such a big influence on the night at the museum fandom of all things

an old friend of mine and i coined the ship name tablet guardians for larry/ahkmenrah and made a community for it, sister community to chest_bump, of course (which was jed/octavius, and probably the hub of the entire fandom for years)

i think edo and i were the first people to ever even consider larry/ahk. honestly, looking back, little teenager me just wanted someone to ship ahkmenrah with because i thought he was hot and didn't like making OCs at the time – thus a ben stiller ship, i guess. such is the way of things

apparently that ship name is still used today, though, which is fucking insane to think about. it's been seventeen years. i'm thirty-one. what the fuck.

i can't help but wonder if there's anyone from that era still on the internet alive and kickin'. i turned out to be a trans dude, for the record. the teenage fujoshi to gay trans man pipeline got me in its jaws

alright everybody OP here. i did not in fact draw the image in question but my friend and i were very shocked to discover this well drawn and enigmatically captioned image while ironically searching up popular children’s movie franchise “night at the museum” fanfiction on archive of our own to see if it existed. we expected to see fanfiction but where unaware that artists used the website and thus were in a state of shock after unintentionally seeing a realistically drawn near nude rami malek as ahkmenrah.

Ahkmenrah is said to be very curious. Which isn’t weird after being dead for 3000 years. XD Ahk’s tongue will be stuck forever. XD And yes Ahkmenrah x Larry is one of my otp. I have this sad rp in which he ages and Ahk feels very depressed about it. Eventually Larry even gets a heart attack. Ahk tries everything to make Larry immortal, in the end it works. :3

WE'RE GETTING A NEW LIVE-ACTION NATM PROJECT! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!

I found out about it from this video by NATM Archivist, and found the source. We're back, folks! What do YOU think the new thing will be? A TV show? A new sequel? A reboot? A side story? Tell me!

(I just hope there's more Ahkmenrah per square inch. Our pharaoh deserves some characterization.)

Today, Bill Cobbs, best known as Reginald in the NatM trilogy, has passed away today at 90 years old.
