Hi! This blog is my everything blog so it is a lot of things I know but it’s fun I promise

Anyway

I'm N.C. Zaversnick, which lets be real is a pen name. You can call me NC on whatever variation on my name you like :)8

I'm 23, disabled and queer as hell. I also have ADHD and autism. I use he/they pronouns and I've been writing and drawing since I was 8. I also read a great deal, mostly fantasy though I started reading more dystopians when I started seriously working on Project Gemini.

Just finished part 2 of Rhythm of War. I’m already not okay and I’m pretty sure that if this one doesn’t kill me, reading The Lost Metal next will.

Does anyone have any weird favorite smells that aren't just like gasoline or sharpie? I do like those but I want to dig deeper. I love the smell of frozen cardboard and brand new hardware

Specifically the deli in my hometown. I can only describe it as a meat smell so intense it made my jaw hurt. And I fucking loved it.

Alright gang, I know I’ve been away for a minute but I’m trying to get back into doing creative things and also using the internet again. As part of this effort I’ve made an account on VGen and will be working on getting my own artists code. If you’d like to check out my profile, you can do so here.

I've noticed being a writer is one of two things:

1.) having five thousand different WIPs because losing inspiration for one can just mean working on something else

2.) having one mega WIP you've been thinking about/working of for five thousand years and not wanting to work on anything else because you have to finish that one first.

Listen. Listen to me all three of you who will see this.

I have never been into Superman. I grew up a Marvel kid with my godfather watching the MCU and my uncle going off about the comics at literally every opportunity. And over the years I've grown exhausted by superhero movies.

But I saw the trailer for the new Superman movie and I cannot describe to you how it felt. I got a good feeling about it. A feeling I might even call hope.

So I went to see it today.

And it was everything I wanted it to be. It felt very genuine. It felt like it was there to tell a story. To share a message. It lined up with what film, as an art, is supposed to be. Yeah it's Superman. And yeah it'll probably make a lot of money. But it's not trying to. And even if people don't like it, even if I'm wrong and it flops, I still respect it for trying. The people who made this movie, every last one of them, have made something to be proud of.

There are so many things to love about this movie but I don't want to spoil anything for you guys. Except for just one thing (because as an artist I feel I definitely should point this out)

Even Lex Luther doesn't use AI. Not even once.

My last text was a very long tangent about autism representation in tv and movies.

That’s pretty much the entire biography right there.

Y’all should watch The Residence on Netflix. It’s a mystery series (only about 8 episodes but theyre each an hour long). The detective is this very autistic black woman whos special interest is birding. She is so unapologetic and I’m only like 20 minutes into episode four but I haven’t felt so seen as an autistic person since that episode of community about Annie and Abed in the dreamatorium. (I recognize Abed is not necessarily the best rep of autism out there, but he is significant to me because he was the first, for me specifically, autistic character I identified with)

This show is amazing. There are few shows I consider to be objectively the best I have seen but this show is one of them

My stubborn ass refuses to start Sunrise on the Reaping until I finish relistening to all the other Hunger Games books but I’ve been procrastinating finishing a Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The problem is that I cannot open Pinterest until I do because every time I do since the book came out I accidentally come upon a very funny (but still very much a spoiler) meme and it’s killing me not knowing the context
