SUMMARY
The 4t2 DIY Garage Set (Moocha Muses, 2019) is a great deco item, especially for urban landscapes – I highly recommend it! There are 4 recolor files, however, with small errors that distort the TXTR. I’ve identified/fixed them. Grab the fixed files below – they have their original filenames so replace the old files.

You might have noticed that the GMDC importer/exporter by DjAlex88 doesn't work with Blender 4.1+. So I made a compatible version… with a new feature I needed.

I recommend to download all in one with TF addons because it's less than 5 mb and you get 3 defaults, 6 hat recolors, everything available for TF, AF and EF in one package

Today I'll share my thoughts on the DeBateau family.
Even if Jessica is one of my faves, I still have a soft spot for Armand and Tara DeBateau
I'll admit I also really enjoy playing with rich Sims 😂
It's a bit of a long post so I'll hide it under a cut
- Armand DeBateau
I see Armand as the typical workaholic, gifted from a young age, he has always been very studious and successful at everything he does. He is a self-made man: the family lives in a (very fancy) apartment, which to me shows that they are new money. They did not inherit land or a big mansion from a long line of ancestors.
But his hardwork came at the price of his social life, and more specifically his love life. While he is at ease with business settings, he is very awkward when it comes to dating. Yet at the same time, he is a romantic who dreams of the classical love story: meeting his soulmate, getting married, starting a family. Because he was very naive and inexperienced, he easily fell for Jessica Peterson, despite all of her red flags (the most important being that she doesn't want kids).
That being said, he wasn't completely naive since he did not share his fortune with Jessica, leaving her with nothing after their divorce. After this, Armand was so disappointed he definitely gave up on love, and chose to adopt to create his family on his own. Armand is used to handling everything himself after all.
- Tara DeBateau
Let's talk about my darling Tara. According to her memories and the family album, she had a rough upbringing before being taken by social services, and she was adopted by Armand as a child.
Armand absolutely adores his daughter, and I imagine that when she was younger he would bring her with him everywhere. Business trips, diner with clients, golf, tennis games, you name it, she was there. His business partners knew at the time that if they can't make Tara laugh, the deal will not go through.
However, I imagine that it must have been very jarring for young Tara to go from the foster system to becoming the daughter of the richest man in town. Now a teenager, Tara has the Knowledge aspiration with the lifetime wish to max all 7 skills (at least in my game). The girl is ambitious, but she also puts a lot of pressure on herself. Subconsciously, isn't she trying to earn her place by becoming the perfect daughter Armand dreamed about? From the outside, Tara can come off as very prideful (she's a Leo, hello), or even a spoiled brat, but deep down she still struggles a lot with imposter syndrome. She choses to mask it by chasing knowledge and skills.
I don't think Armand did anything to make Tara believe that his love is conditional, but he is simply unaware of how traumatic her early childhood was.
Despite them being inseparable, Tara still rebels against her father at times, because he can be a bit controlling at times, while she needs the freedom to discover who she is truly.
If there's one thing ts2 does best, it's depicting dysfunctional families.
Today I'll talk about the Cleveland family.
If you're familiar with Belladonna Cove, you already know the main gimmick: Jason Cleveland is a closeted gay who is secretly attracted to his wife's younger brother. It's unclear whether Marissa is aware of her husband's inclinations or not.
Here's my take on it, under the cut:
My interpretation is that she is in complete denial about it. I imagine that both Marissa and Jason's families were part of Belladonna Cove's high society, thus their alliance made sense. Marissa herself is someone who cares a lot about appearances and her standing in society.
Despite being a Fortune Sim, Marissa is unemployed and her bio suggests that she spends her time meddling in her son's life. Justin himself is said to resent his mother for forcing him to take a part-time job in the military. However, his lifetime wish is actually to become the military general. Ungrateful much?
Here is my unofficial diagnosis of this family as a toxic system. Jason being a closeted gay means that he is probably not very invested in his marriage. That's not to say that he doesn't care for his wife, they are good friends, but there is an emotional disconnect between them. However, instead of addressing the issue, the couple keeps pretending that everything is fine. Marissa copes with her unmet emotional needs by obsessing over her son too much. (I see her as the type of boy mom who sees her son as perfect, and always makes up excuses for him. She even makes his bed every morning!)
Worse than that, Justin grew up witnessing how his parents interact with each other: Marissa nags her husband for attention, and Jason always dismisses her. Thus, Justin treats his mother the same. He knows that she's always nagging, so he only listens with one ear. He complains about her behind her back, but never stands up to her. He is ungrateful, but still a mama's boy. So yes, he complains about his part-time job, but if not for his mother, he would have never taken the steps to work towards HIS dream. While Marissa is overbearing, Justin accepts it because it does benefit him in a way.
In my game, Jason unexpectedly passed away, which I think would only reinforce Marissa's codependency with Justin (because now her son is all she has left! What better argument for guilt tripping?).
My inspiration for her is Rex's mother from Desperate Housewives
Now it's up to Justin to set firm boundaries with his mother and become more self-reliant. Or he can remain a mama's boy forever and let her drive away all his potential love interests. Because, of course, no one will ever be good enough for her son.
No matter what, both will be entertaining to play 🤭
I used SimSlice's crocodiles. They move around the lot very much like Sun and Moon's animals! They can mate and die and even kill Sims if they don't have food...
I also am working on modding them to be viewable and more attractive on business lots. That way, it will simulate guests in a zoo.

All images are taken in Body Shop only, for ease of time. I have tested all defaults in my copy of Ultimate Collection on my laptop, but please let me know if there are any issues. I am still new to default clothes!
