"she thinks this is bonding behavior" my friend this has BECOME your bonding behaviour
Hi Apple users, Apple released a fun thing where they take your photos and Siri transcripts and use them to train AI! And they may be automatically turned on without your knowledge, because oh boy they sure were for me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Open the “apps” section in your settings (it’s usually at the very bottom), go to photos and scroll until you see “Enhanced Visual Search” and then turn that shit off. Then go to “Privacy and Security”, scroll until you see “Analytics & Improvements”, and turn off “Improve Siri & Dictation” as well.
I am an artist with hundreds upon hundreds of my artworks in my photo album. I also have plenty of photos with not only my own face, but the faces of my friends and my family. I do not appreciate that being used to train AI without my consent, and I’m pretty sure it’s the same for others too.
I’m so tired of big companies.
I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area they’ve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record I’m fine with
But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base. They gave us a cowboy
Here he is, the Aldi Cowboy
Heavenly Delusion, ch. 60
Do you ever think about how so much of the deadly anti-science rhetoric that fills America today and is killing countless vulnerable people can be directly traced back to one fucking guy who decided to just straight-up lie about vaccines causing autism because it would make him a profit? Do you ever think about that? Because I think about it a lot.
Venonat for a 4-fun fanzine themed around Poison types! The lil guy’s one of my faves, they’re out there hunting 4 food, kekeke~
Hades gives Orpheus a trial he knows he himself could never succeed at, but it isn’t just that Hades knows he would turn around. Hades has been failing this trial every single year. He shows up too early. He turns too soon. He is so full of doubt that even the natural order of the world, that Persephone will return to him, is not something he can trust. Hades would fail the trial he has given Orpheus, and he already has. All alone, his blood runs thin.

i stand in front of an audience. okay so there’s this epilogue to a fantasy/sci fi series about the psychological decline of a protagonist who spent his entire life solving everyone else’s problems as fantasy protagonists often do and now he is confronted with the reality that he does not know how to solve his own and this destroys him completely. his mental health spiral is the focus of the story and is just as gradual as it is intense. no one knows what to do when the one that does all the saving needs to be saved and they all go about helping him horribly. incredibly claustrophobic in tone. most episodes end on a sour, open note. everyone is gripped. i say it is steven universe. the audience erupts into fury
there’s a scene about that exact moment in your mid teens when your parent is talking and you realize you’ve spent all your life looking up to a person who knows nothing and is telling you things you definitely don’t need or want to hear and all you can do is zone out because you’ve never been disillusioned like this before. and it’s so good. and it’s steven universe.
My mom likes to tell me about how when I was a little kid riding public transport with her I'd always smile and giggle and chat with weird old ladies who smelled like cat pee and homeless folks and strangers dressed in bizarre outfits but any time a tidy and respectable businessman in a suit and tie waved at me I'd immediately clam up, and she takes a great deal of pride in my supposed inherentability to clock personalities but the truth is I do vaguely remember those bus rides, and it was never about the clothes or the hair or the smell, but more because everyone "strange" asked interesting questions and listened to what I had to say and seemed to think about what I said while the neat and tidy and rigid folks only ever acted like they were going through the motions, which was boring as hell and also pretty annoying
Well-to-do finance manager with tidy shoes: "Why hello, sweetheart. Can you say 'hi'? Aren't you cute. Are you on a trip with your mom?"
4 year old me: why must we do this
Fantastic old woman in the leopard print coat: "Why yes, my tooth IS real silver! Nobody ever asks me that. Do you like cats?"
4 year old me, suddenly paying attention: Finally, A Person Of Intellect
Personally? I would never deny Hiromu Arakawa her right to a short bratty braided blond character in a kickass red coat
Invent a look this iconic and I think you should get to use it in every series.
so the headline was that google changed their search page to remove the actual search results and now you can only use the ai part of the site and the thing that actually happened is they replaced the search button on the front page with an ai button and if you want the real search results you need to press enter instead of press the button that says ai on it
