Not to hate on AOS, but actually, yeah to hate on AOS. I've forgotten 99% of the plot ever since I saw Into Darkness in cinema and I can't remember if I ever saw Beyond or not, but I must've. I've never seen anything AOS since then because I remember not liking it very much, but I wouldn't have wasted a conscious though on it if @nerdyspacepirate didn't enter my life and quite literally one of the first things they told me was that it's their favorite Star Trek media which did make me go "wow, now that's shit taste" in my head. It wouldn't be half as fun to hate on it if you didn't like it @nerdyspacepirate. I have to rewatch it some day to see if it is as bad as I remember it or if I just unconsciously internalized the memes and the hate it got as my opinion
