anyway i took inspiration from a michael ryan’s painting, “leaving asciano”

one of my favorite plot ideas from when i was younger that i oft revisited but never managed to make an actual story with was like

a bunch of people from various walks of life all get mysteriously teleported into some weird pocket dimension disconnected from reality run by an entity that acts as their host (as in host of a party/host of a show/etc) and forces them to do various games or challenges . and shenanigans ensue as the characters have character growth and develop relationships with each other while trying to figure out how to do the games and/or escape or something

usually i imagine them teleported into a giant expansive mansion floating in a white void. maybe a nice yard with hedges where they can really See the white void

idk why the entity would be doing this. my favorite 2 ideas are that it takes a bunch of random troubled people and throws them in a mansion together to see how they react to the trials/each other for its own entertainment or that it's some weird entity that takes people at rock bottom and forces them to grow and change through the trials and interacting with each other

anyway it's a fun idea but i never did anything with it. variations include "all the people teleported into the mansion are from different genres so you have some gritty noir detective and a silly cartoon beaver in one room" and the "possession murder mystery" plot that i like to do sometimes

i should try doing something small and fun with it sometime

nah it's not silly: i don't want to raise a fuss about this so i'm just going to say that the ones behind that show are pretty problematic people. some voice actors in particular and well go0sew0rx herself (sorry if i don't spill enough tea but i'm unsure if it would be totally ok to spread information about what i know; there are several posts that point out the facts btw)

but i *do* love tadc. or, better, i love it in my own way. as a creative, i feel free to "make those characters mine": how i perceive them, how i can draw them, how my critical thinking can think of rewriting them while maintaining the main traits of their personalities, if there is something that really bothers me... i love the fact that on my leg there's a tattoo of gangle, i love sleeping with my ragatha plush, i love making headcanons or AUs... that's it

this is my personal way of loving shows or media's like that: building my own personal view/ stories starting from what i see

Oh boy, Glitch's done it again.

so these screenshots of Glassdoor reviews from Glitch employees have been making the rounds on Twitter recently. now i personally cannot confirm or deny the truth of the allegations told in these screenshots, but i do know this: Glassdoor is a website where employees can review the working conditions they face at the company they're employed at. it's a well-known fact that Glassdoor doesn't allow just anyone to post a review there unverified; they have to show ample proof that they actually were employed at the company they say they were. so, we can operate under the assumption that these reviews are, most likely, more or less a legitimate look into Glitch Production's inner workings. however, if i'm wrong, please let me know. tl;dr: these reviews essentially state that Glitch treats its female employees like shit (what a surprise), sets ridiculously unrealistic expectations for its workers, resorts to intimidation and threats on multiple occasions, and even coerces workers to write false good reviews to boost their Glassdoor ratings (among other horrible shit). and Boy, am i not surprised but still somehow disappointed. honestly, i didn't think my respect for glitch could sink any lower, but here we are, i guess. apparently this is the same company that's going to be "paving the way for a new generation of indie artists" or whatever. more like falling back on the very same underpaying, overworking, greedy, toxic abusive bullshit that's been plaguing the animation and entertainment industries for decades now. great work guys, thanks! you're a stain on our history and the future of animation is even deeper in the pits than it ever was. we're one step back from ever redefining and reworking the rampant malpractice, mistreatment and dehumanization going on behind closed doors. link to Glitch's Glassdoor page: https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Glitch-Productions-Reviews-E8656356.htm Link to twitter posts with screenshots and summaries: https://x.com/lumirunner/status/2057519161648333178 https://x.com/lumirunner/status/2057800789977174404
