The Death Cure - James Dashner
*possible spoiler alert*
The third book in the series 'the maze runner'. I must say, out of the three I have read this wasnt my favourite. That doesn't mean it wasnt good though!
I feel like there was not as much of a story in this book. I mean, there was the story of trying to get the cure, saving Newt and Janson. Other than that, I feel low there wasnt much going on. More of a fight the people, then go somewhere else and fight them.
The whole Newt story really broke my heart, considering he has been a main character from the beginning I really thought he would be someone that was immune, evidently not. His note to Thomas also got me a little teary, asking one of his best friends to kill him off - not something Thomas took very lightly, I'm just glad he actually went through with it!
Also, in the second book I was shipping Brenda and thomas. Throughout most of this book though, I was convinced thomas was better off on his own, hoping he was going to find someone else. Towards the end, I got much more into the Thomas and Brenda idea. Luckily, at the end of the book they kissed! That, for me, made the ending so much better.
I would still give this book a 4.5 stars. Still loved it, just not as much as the first two, and managed to read it in two sittings. Considering I have a 6 month old I thought that was pretty impressive - I'm just lucky he goes down for the night at 7:30.
Straight onto the next one for me.

Playing with bubbles is something that relaxes me, as well as keeping the little one and the cat entertained! So it's kind of win win all round.
My productivity isn't something that has been super high recently. It just gets me through the day to be honest. I managed to sort a few clothes out, pick up the pushchair- something I have been meaning to do for almost a week now!
My proudest moment of yesterday though was when I finished my book! It took me only 2 days to read it, I'm just so into the maze runner series at the moment. I actually stayed up extra last to finish it and I dont even feel any worse today!
I’m such a “nah I got it” and suffer in silence type of person.

Happy 1st birthday to my niece, first of all. This has been the main focus of most of my afternoon today. Getting ready and dressed up for her little party. Seeing the family together has been a really good part of the day. Dressing ollie up in a little shirt and waist coat has to be my favourite thing, look how cute he looks!
This morning my productivity levels were through the roof! Actually managed to get quite a lot done, and found a way to keep this up- hopefully!
Writing this list definitely helped with all of my tasks for the day, even the small every day things it helped me with. On days that I dont go out I wont brush my teeth or even my hair, I writing down made it so much easier to complete them. Giving me the satisfaction of crossing each task off my list was enough to make me do them!
I even cooked. Yes. Steaming some broccoli for my little one counts as cooking!
Friend: would I know him, how old is he?
Me: yeah, he was at the same school just one year above me.

When does this age reference stop?
The scorch trials - James Dashner
Book 2/5 of the maze runner series.
*possible spoiler alert*
Like the first one, this is the second time I have read this. But unlike the maze runner, I didnt remember as much. Oh my god. This one, in my opinion is better than the first book.
Having already become acquainted with the characters makes is a much better story. It follows on perfectly, starting just how the previous book ended making it extremely easy to jump straight in.
One of the main story lines within this book is the love story of Theresa and Thomas. Something even I was confused about throughout most of the book. How can theresa just kiss thomas and then leave him like that. The whole way through I thought WICKED had dome hold over her, just like they had with Gally. Then she took him and kept telling thomas to trust her, even I was having my doubts with her trust. Dashner wrote this whome story out perfectly, not only leaving thomas guessing but the reader aswell. To add to this love complication, he added a new character - Brenda. In all honesty, I am shipping thomas and brenda much more than thomas and theresa. I just prefer brenda as a character, as much as I love theresa Brenda is so much better for thomas.
The amount of action in the book didnt disappoint either. Every single page and chapter made me want more, left me wanting to carry on reading to see how the story continues. The end of every chapter left me on a cliffhanger, needing me to read on.
Another new character is Aris, who I actually really dislike. I feel like because he is a new character he should have been wrote out to gain the trust of thomas and the rest of Group A. Which, in his defense, he did gain their trust at the beginning. More towards the end he was against the group. I still feel like there is something I cant trust about him, making me very weary of him.
James has ended the book with them being saved, again. Do I think they have completed all of the trials and are ready to learn all about why WICKED have done what they have, absolutely not! There cant be another 3 books if they find out, can there?

Theres me thinking my productitivity levels were low yesterday, day 4 has been even worse. I managed to actually get out of my house though. Going to see my family, meaning I got dressed and ready. That's not what I was expecting to do in the morning.
My mental health has been extremely bad today, making me not want to do anything. Stay on the sofa and sleep, which proves to be very hard with a 6month old😳
Happiness has been another thing I have struggled with. When i was at my family house they got a few people round for a few drinks, and pizza for tea😍

My productivity levels have been super low today. Although, I did manage to finish the second book of the maze runner series - review will be up once I have gathered my thoughts. What a way to leave it?!
My happiness has been on a high today though, took the little on to soft play - which he loves! Also got myself a coffee at a cafe and realised I am completely over pettiness and immaturity in my life. Cutting out the people who bring negativity my way, its such a refreshing feeling. Another little thing that made me smile today, an ecig came through my door that I have already received a refund for, because i didnt think it was delivered! So now I have a free ecig #winning
Even more books added to my tbr list..
