this is how it went, right?
ADHD tip: if u need to remember something, inconvenience urself with it.
works best with physical objects obviously but just. oh i keep forgetting my lunch box before work? now after prepping it i set it in front of the door so i cant leave without moving it. dont wanna forget to take my pills? well in about to eat dinner so im gonna set the pillbox down right where my plates gonna go. gotta deal with x before bed? well, ill set it on my bed so i cant sleep without moving it. make it so that u cannot proceed with another task without interacting with the forgetfullness object.
u can also sub in an object that maybe isnt the task itself but is a related reminder object (detergent for laundry, trash bag to replace bag when u throw out the damn trash, etc)
and not in the VICINITY of another task, like. the reminder object is On Top Of my game controller and i cant play video games without being reminded "oh i had TASKS".

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Yes this!!! I used to have so much trouble remembering my keys, so I put on them on a ring big and thin enough that I could thread them on the actual latch (this will depend on your type of lock obviously) so I couldnât physically open the door with out taking the keys off. Sometimes you just have to stuff in your way. And donât be embarrassed about it, you need it!
There is a certain type of Star Trek character that is extremely and vocally hated by at least some large segments of the fandom. These arenât just characters that many people dislike â these are characters who are actively hated by a significant number of people, usually ostensibly because they are âannoyingâ in some way. This isnât a phenomenon unique to the Star Trek fandom by any means, but Iâm interested in examining this phenomenon in relation to Star Trek in particular â including which characters it applies to and the potential reasons why it might exist.
First, I wanted to make a list of Star Trek characters that I believe definitely count as overly hated from the Trek shows whose fandoms Iâm most familiar with:
Wesley (TNG)
Pulaski (TNG)
Keiko (DS9/TNG)
Ezri (DS9)
Winn (DS9)
Neelix (Voyager)
Michael (Discovery)
Adira (Discovery)
Then there are the characters who Iâve seen a lot of hate toward, but Iâm not sure if itâs from a large enough segment of the fandom or is vitriolic enough to count completely:
Chapel (TOS)
Lwaxana (TNG/DS9)
Julian (DS9)
Kes (Voyager)
Naomi (Voyager)
Gray (Discovery)
Laâan (SNW)
Obviously, I think itâs perfectly fine and reasonable to dislike any of the above characters. What Iâm talking about here is when people act like there is something fundamentally terrible or irredeemably annoying about these characters in comparison to other similar characters, with a base assumption that most everyone in the world is going to agree that these characters just suck.
So what makes these particular characters such common targets of hate? The most obvious pattern I see in these lists is that female characters are vastly overrepresented, which is hardly surprising. Fandoms disproportionately finding female characters âannoyingâ and âbadly writtenâ is hardly a new thing. Also, in addition to just plain sexism, thereâs certainly a racial element to the ways people hate Michael and Keiko, and a lot of people who talk about how much they hate Adira will just straight up admit itâs because they hate trans people. On the other hand, Iâve seen more hate toward Wesley than most of the other characters on these lists, and heâs a white boy. Could there be elements of the hate toward characters like Wesley and Neelix that are also gendered â as in, these characters somehow donât measure up to cultural standards of masculinity in a way many people find irritating?
Obviously, bigotry plays a large role in why a lot of these characters are hated, but it probably isnât the whole story either. Fundamentally, the thing that confuses me here is that I donât personally find any of the characters on the above lists to be more âannoyingâ than average. I slightly dislike a few of them, but I donât hate any of them, and I donât understand what it is about them in particular that makes them prime targets for such vitriolic and widespread hatred.
Iâd love to hear other peopleâs thoughts on this. In particular, what do you think about the above lists of characters that I think definitely count and might count as overly hated in the Star Trek fandom? Are there any characters youâd add to or remove from either list? And do you notice any patterns in the types of characters that end up being overly hated?
Iâm so interested in this whole âphenomenonâ. Largely because I donât understand what people mean by hate re a character. Sure, there are characters I find meh, maybe even annoying, maybe I even dislike them. But hate? I just donât get how people hate on a fictional character so much.
Today I learned that "mangrove" is not a biological classification of plant, and instead a general word for trees and shrubs that are specially adapted to grow in coastal areas periodically inundated because of tides.
Huh. I always thought of mangrove as a habitat. As in, these species live in A Mangrove. Like a forest or a valley or a reef.
So many TV shows/movies depict the Epi Pen as a total solution for anaphylaxis...it's not. The Epi Pen gives you 30 minutes to get to a hospital where they can save your life. TV makes it look like you just have to use the Epi Pen and then the crisis is over. Do people without allergies or a loved one with allergies know that an Epi Pen only buys you time? The more I see this on TV the more I worry...
**Maybe you should reblog this because I'm actually worried that most people don't know.
Omg so much this! I have to use my epipens about three times a year and my doctor recommends I shoot both of them in my thigh and then call an ambulance! They are a STABILISER not a cure!!
EPI and NARCAN are both stabilizers.
After use, you STILL need to go to HOSPITAL!!!
Being a pharmacy technician, yes, this is very common and yes, the directions by default do tell patients or anyone administering either one to call 911 and seek emergency help.

Hereâs a little mirrorverse sketch comic. Instead of random inktober illustrations I thought you might like a little story ;) These are the prompts dangerous, beast, chain, sparkle and rush among others. (I have so much mirrorverse headcanon lately, I just needed to express some of itâŠ!) We get back to wholesome moments with plants next post. :D

Every day i am more perplexed by kelpian anatomyâŠ
Things we know:
Heâs an ungulate but his knees are in the wrong place
Ganglia have a secretory function for neurotransmitters relating to fear
Kelpians apparently have adrenaline and noradrenaline (epinephrine and norepinephrine for you guys in the states)
have incredibly strong senses (auditory, visual and tactile) (can sense predators from 10km away)
can sense the coming of death???? Bro are you prophets???? Get Sisko up in here.
have a larger optical window than humans + can see in ultra violet
the spikes after vaharai are a keratin based tissue
they can also grow bears but only when old
apparently they have to be older than 125 though (HOW OLD DO THEY LIVE?)
They can exceed speeds of 80km/hr
have sexual dimorphism
breathe oxygen
are carbon based
feed on kelp crop
go through vaharai (and can withstand pain that would render the average humankind unconscious)
Thinking about Vulcans prizing âcalmâ over âhappinessâ.Â
Keep reading
And how TâRina describes Saru as being a comforting presence. Not âyou make me happyâ, but, âyouâre so calm itâs comforting and I want to spend time with youâ. Which is basically a declaration of love by Vulcan standards
when the president of vulcan unabashedly flirts with your captain
Itâs called âenvironmental amnesiaâ and itâs an actual issue environmentalists discuss how to combat. The climate crisis makes it more widespread but itâs been something thatâs happening for generations. The story of The Lorax describes it beautifully. The idea that what you remember is what you consider normal, but if the changes happen slowly over generations, you donât see how large they are because you donât personally remember them being very different, even if you were told stories about it.
Also this but with animals disappearing. Eventually, no one will remember they are meant to be there.
When I sell my familyâs farm, the new owners wonât say âoh thereâs no cuckoos hereâ. It wonât even occur to them. Why would they ever think thereâs meant to be cuckoos? But, there used to be cuckoos. Iâm the last person that remembers they are supposed to be there. Now they are gone. But you wonât notice the absence if theyâve always been absent to you.
Michael Burnham and Saru reunite after a year
I want a hug like this from Saru
"David Tennant isn't the best doctor because the show is about embracing change and evolving and people need to move on and stop letting him overshadow the others. None of them are inherently better and they all deserve credit." I say into the mic. The crowd boos loudly. I walk offstage.
"she's right," a voice says from the back of the room. Everyone turns to look and there he is. Peter Davison himself.
THIS!!!!!
