Apollo 17 vs Artemis II
Despite everything, it's still you.

That's really cool actually
#excuse me but are you telling me that the Apollo pic is made with the help of the SUN and the Artemis one with the help of the MOON??? #that's actually so poetic i want to cry
@gorandomshesaid wait i need to sit with this one. wait.
almost everything men say they love about their culture is actually reliant on the labour of women. that’s why it’s so easy for them to feel proud and protective over it. taking care of elders and not putting them in care homes? the care is always done almost exclusively by female family members. the yummy traditional food? cooked by women. the fun events and gatherings? organised and hosted by the women. men love taking credit for their culture but in reality they barely participate in the actual hard work, they just get to sit back and enjoy all the benefits of it. it’s a scam 🤷🏻♀️
Some ya’ll who are younger need to google Frank Serpico and read about his time in the NYPD and what the cops did to him and attempted to do to him up until the late 90′s. He literally had to go into hiding in Italy and Switzerland and multiple times people tried to kill him. He only came back to America after the mafia (who hated the NYPD a lot, obviously) said “you’re under our protection.”
Damn, NYPD is so bad, Mafia started protecting good cops
I was a police officer for nearly ten years and I was a bastard. We all were.
👆Really really good article by the way. Feels like a good piece to show to folks you know who are still on the fence about things like police or prison abolition. Plus the pseudonym the author uses is hysterical, and he's really quite a good writer.
extremely good article, please read it. at the very least read the "how to be a bastard" section, it outlines a lot of the ways cops will try to trick you
I also think that the strength gap is at least partially manufactured women would in fact be stronger overall if little girls were encouraged to do physically taxing games and activities and eat their fill while they’re growing vs having to constantly diet and be sedentary indoors (or god forbid do intense cardio while under-eating). The amount of adult women honestly afraid to lift weights bc they think they’ll get bulky as though bulking isn’t a full time job that athletes have to spend all their time on and anyone on earth gets shredded from just using their adult muscles for their intended purpose, girl your bone density 🥀
if you say women are intentionally nerfed from birth in 2026 people look at you like you’re insane and start condescendingly telling you about how women are just better at different things (but not during their periods haha) but this was a completely basic feminist talking point I grew up with like “girls can do it too! [shot of little girls climbing and running with boys]” nickelodeon commercial tier base level I hate it how is everyone suddenly dumber than the average 7 year old
from someone whose parents did not enforce weird feminizing standards on me ("tomboy" was not spoken fondly by critics of their methods, but rather scathingly), let me tell you: nobody likes it when girls are stronger than boys. They will accept that some boys are stronger than some other boys. And some girls are stronger than some other girls. But whew, you better not cross those streams. And that grade-school level Nickelodeon feminism is just too much for them to handle.

“The opening ‘Living Look’ is a first-of-its-kind vision - Inhabited by 125 million bioluminescent algae that emit light in response to movement. Created in collaboration with biodesigner Chris Bellamy @/bio.crafted, it is a living system cultivated in seawater and encapsulated in a specialized nutrient gel. A translucent protective coating allows light and air to pass through.
Rather than constructed, the dress is nurtured. Its circadian rhythm and environment are carefully tuned to its marine origin, transforming fashion into an act of care.”

reminder to visit museums, even if you feel out of place. you feel out of place because there is an established concept of inaccessibility of "high culture" to the masses, purposefully developed to distinguish between social classes.
take up space, read the plaques, get the audioguides. you are just as entitled and right in being there. visit museums, boycott museums, be expressive about your opinions about museums.
a lot of museums are free, or discounted for youth and students. take advantage of that. check your local art museum. check your local history museum. museums are there for you, they are there to educate the public, not to distinguish between class. it isn't a private collection, it's a public exhibit.
GO TO MUSEUMS!!!!!!!
Don't shy away from chatting with staff and curators either!!! Please!!! They love it when people come to them with questions or a desire to learn further!! Get involved, see if they take volunteers, as local museums often struggle to receive the funding to be staffed properly, and public assistance helps greatly. Museums, as institutions, are flawed, but many, many folks involved with them do want to make them better, and the way they get better is by diverse bodies, voices, and people engaging with them!! PLEASE go be a nerd.
