I’m doing those character charts for my stupid characters because every writer on YouTube says you need to know your characters thoroughly before you start to write anything, and omg, are there people who actually like doing this?

Oh don’t tell me! Actually, I do believe there are some useful information and some just unnecessary information in these type of character sheet that one writer “needs” to know about a character. Favourite snack? Who cares?! Will it be important in the story? (in comic, maybe, it can be part of the background, but in a novel, i don’t think so.) Although, I did find some good questions once on pinterest I’ll try to look it up.

Yeah, fav song or drink? I will never know that about any character. I also dread making up their back story, I just hate writing about their childhood, relationship with their parents if it’s not 100% relevant to the story. And it’s so hard to write down how they react to things becasue I know how they react when I see them in the scene. Writing is weird because you need to know so many things about everything right away but you can’t know until you write it. Why do I try to write again… 😩💨 Anyway, thanks for the chart! There are definitely some useful stuff there ☺️

As opposed to that quote about “the horrifying ordeal of being known,” do y’all ever feel so positively UNKNOWN and UNSEEN that it frightens you? Like there’s a self that you feel on the inside, and you believe to be “you,” but it seems like nobody else sees that version of you? And they’re interacting with someone that isn’t you but a projection of their experience of you? What’s more, perhaps nobody will ever know your true essence and you will die without ever being fully realized????? I’m only two beers in honestly
