the peacemaker show: his white supremacist father forced him and his brother to fight for entertainment as children, and when chris punched his brother keith it caused a seizure that killed him. his dad then spent the rest of his childhood abusing him physically and emotionally, and forced him to become a killer. his father hates every part about him from his bisexuality to his taste in music and wants his own son dead. peacemaker only wants to fit in, and genuinely wants human connection and is fully aware of how much of an asshole he comes across as, but thinks he’s a worthless piece of shit bc his dad spent decades telling him that, and believes the only person that ever loved him is keith (who he killed). he blindly followed orders and is easily manipulated so that he can belong, but the death of rick flag effected him so much that he reevaluates every part of his life bc of it

There’s a documentary on Amazon Prime I’ve yet to watch about how this movie helped revitalize the SciFi genre or something, and I can totally agree with that. It’s more slept on than Megamind or Clue or even Logan Lucky.

I think this sums up what it did pretty well

I had originally not wanted to see [Galaxy Quest] because I heard that it was making fun of Star Trek and then Jonathan Frakes rang me up and said “You must not miss this movie! See it on a Saturday night in a full theatre.” And I did and of course I found it was brilliant. Brilliant. No one laughed louder or longer in the cinema than I did, but the idea that the ship was saved and all of our heroes in that movie were saved simply by the fact that there were fans who did understand the scientific principles on which the ship worked was absolutely wonderful. And it was both funny and also touching in that it paid tribute to the dedication of these fans.

it’s so funny how they got jack black to voice a character in psychonauts 2 but his brain ends up transferred into another body so he’s only voiced by jack black when you’re inside his brain. and it’s like yeah that makes sense they couldn’t afford jack black to voice this guy for the whole game so that’s a fun workaround. except the voice actor for the body he’s transferred into is elijah wood

I mean on the one hand, yes, shipping spongebob characters is certifiably absurd and people who do it do not deserve rights but on the OTHER hand if you took Spongebob and Squidward's personalities and dropped them into, say, a pair of anime girls from a gacha game or two white guys from a teen drama everyone would be like "oh of COURSE this is a big ship"
