this is one of the best characters in dgs. his introduction makes him seem SO suspicious. tells you before your own murder trial to say "i am" to a question the judge will ask you, not telling you what it is aside from "the question isn't 'are you the murderer'". your best friend and lawyer says "i should have known you'd try to pull that horseshit here. you also find out he and the victim (a foreigner from england) were friends and hes the one who invited him to work here. after the first case he does not show up again for the entire game but in the last case your assistant (his daughter) received a telegram that he's ill and has to travel all the way back to japan. he's fine nothing actually happened. he helps his daughter break a sexist law by creating a lawyersona so she can defend her friend in a murder trial. he also is actually bros with the judge so they could get away with her disguise. hes still suspicious as hell though because of the whole "faking an illness to make you come home" thing. one guy his daughter met in england said that he thinks it has something to do with something they found in england that freaked him out. then he goes to england too with his bro the judge. then you find out hes actually your formerly dead best friend's foster father. and then you found out he kind of lied to your formerly dead best friend about his biological father's death because that guy was executed for a crime he may or may not have done in england. and then you find out when he was in england he was your weird/roommate sort of mentor who is also sherlock holmes's partner which means he's actually watson. he also maybe has an illegitimate daughter who thought a different guy is her dad. hes really good at dancing. he's really bad with having serious conversations that can hurt people. he actually is not the father of that illegitimate child he just delivered her after her parents died and then raised her for a short while with sherlock holmes.
