i unironically believe there should be federal regulation of clothing size labeling and it should have zero loopholes. you should legally not be allowed to opt out of it even if you are selling something on depop or etsy that you made yourself. it should be set in stone when first codified and it should be illegal for the sizes to be changed later. you should be legally required to label your garments with either a standard, federally-determined size label like Adult Small, size 7 etc, OR label clothing with units of measurement like inches or cms. clothing gender categories are pointless and should be banned. shoes should be labeled by CM measurement of the footbed, not sole, in both directions (width and length)

in the former category (size 7 or size medium) could be clothing with a lot of stretch to it, where a single unit measurement may not be helpful, or clothing with adjustable straps, lacing, rows of hooks etc. "free size" and "one size fits most" labeling banned, not a useful category. if i am buying a poncho i want to know what the edge lengths are

It pisses me off so bad when people say misandry isn't real. Talk to any man of color and he can tell you how his manhood/masculinity causes him to be vilified and oppressed in a way thats different to women of his same race.

Maybe I’m prone to believe it because I’ve seen it first hand. My dad was impacted by misandry, to the point that someone found our house to 'confront' him. Men are so much more unlikely to be believed about their abuse or sexual assault. A man on my campus had his assault forgotten about because even though his assaulter admitted it with pride, she was a woman.

There are many more examples I can think of, but this post would be far too long. Misandry is real and I automatically don't trust anyone who says it isn't. I don't trust you to be normal about marginalized men.

I dont expect to change the minds of bigots, but I do expect people within my own damn community to listen when I say that there are nonsexualized versions of the things that I do.

I feel like a certain amount of queer persons have fallen for the propaganda that our existence is inherently sexual, so anything that is even remotely sexual (as identified by a needlessly puritanical culture) is factually for sexual gratification in some way.

One of our event coordinators wants to do a live art session with nude models that are trans, and I was explaining to a friend that the hard part was finding a venue willing to host it. She assumed that the person coordinating was going to be a model and that this was an exhibitionist thing.

Like ... no? He's a talented artist who wants to give opportunities to trans persons.

People think our nature programs are about hookup culture. I would simply like a group of birders that is not going to put me in exile for mentioning my wife.

I don't know what the specific terms are, but there's like one group of economists who are math nerds at heart, and they go "whoa, that's weird, I wonder why," and five years later publish a five hundred page thesis that's dense as a brick and says, "yeah man this is fucking unsustainable and is only going to get worse, however it looks like if we weren't putting 99.99% of all resources on earth into sustaining the lives of six people, we'd probably do okay," and no one reads it.

But there's some other group, and when they talk about economics they'll have a great, engaging tone with easy to follow graphs based on easy to locate data, with catchy titles and everything they write is like "not only is the economy getting better all the time, but it's the best it's ever been, and everyone is doing tremendously well, our system has never failed and never will, and looking at these figures we actually need to give even more resources to those six guys."

I think the second group should be put into a burlap sack and drowned.
