"You have such a positive way of framing it." He huffs. Being literally dragged along and recommended clothing, it was dizzying! But It was necessary, and not as big of a hassle as he made it out to be, despite his grumblings.

"It was... not unpleasant, I suppose. I needed more clothes." The dragon shrugged, resting his hand on his hip. "Her tastes were very vibrant, but in line with many in this city, so I needn't step in often... I find bright colors suit me."

"...I suppose I wouldn't be opposed to doing it again."

"If that's the case then I suppose it was a success." Or they at least met someone who provided some kind of enjoyable company. Either worked out in Camilla's eyes though she hoped whoever it was didn't go completely overboard and swamp him entirely...

"Though sounds like they knew a thing or two about fashion. I've been thinking about going shopping myself for awhile now. Just never the time nor anyone else to go along with."

A wyvern certainly wasn't the greatest when it came to that line of off hour fun after all...

"And if you aren't opposed to it maybe you can join me?~~"

SHE SEEMS AT LEAST A LITTLE INTRIGUED. now, whether it was truly a thing to behold or not... well, she wouldn't really know fully, either. instead, something else pops out of her mouth. ❝ I'm not sure about that. Two of them have put many people, including my sisters, into prison. ❞ it was certainly a fact, though she hadn't quite met the hydro dragon in person, everything merely hearsay. were they like nibelung in the end? whatever the case was, she would prefer not to seek them out of her own accord.

though when camilla begins talking about truly being one and carrying a dragon's blood in their veins, her brows furrow gently in thought.

❝ ... it does sound complicated. ❞ she can only wonder how long it might take to explain were she to ask. was it alright to ask in the first place? ❝ Then... does that mean you are not a family of dragons? Or are you? If only one of you can become one... ❞

"It's a little bit complicated. Though I don't mind sharing it with a dear like yourself." After all it wasn't as if she could do much with the information in the first place. The family history had long since been brought to the light once they achieved victory in Valla. At this rate telling others might've been a blessing rather then a curse.

"Legends say created twelves dragons waged war against each other. One of them was through with how much chaos kept being brought throughout the land, and decided to forge weapons to place into the hands of humanity in order to stop such a war."

The actual result of it was something she felt didn't need to explained, given how if humanity did lose she wouldn't have been standing here in the first place.

"Still the lineage of royalty of our land stretches that far back. Because of it we were "blessed" with their power and manifest it in the land itself. Although only my adopted sibling, the one who carries true royal blood as a descendant was able to perform such a feat." Albeit after going through such an event in the first place.

"The rest of us is like you said. While we're not a family of dragons there is blood from those ancestors runs through our veins. Like we both said, complicated.~~"

⚙ Sandrone merely sighed. "Do whatever you want. Use the phone if it's an emergency. If it's not, that's when I'd prefer paper." If other Fatui had a way to contact her so efficiently back home, she didn't doubt that her line would have always been busy with stupid questions or complaints. When Camilla followed her inside, she flicked on the light to the living room.

She would not be brought into Sandrone's bedroom, and she had turned most of it into a workshop anyways.

"No one else lives here right now. There might have been someone before, but i never met them. Would have been a waste of time either way." Especially since they'd already left. "Suits me fine, though. I'd rather live by myself than with someone else." Columbina hadn't given her much of a choice back in the day though.

"Paper it is then." It was a little different from what she had gotten used to in her time here but still something she'd oblige to. Losing a skill like that she'd practiced for so long wouldn't bode well once they all returned home...

"The same for me then. Although I suppose I did see someone else was suppose to share the same space with myself recently. So maybe things will turn out differently this time around."

Doubtful. But it was nice thought if it did manage to come true.

"Even if it's someone you care about? I feel that and the very least would make things a little bit more lively."

When Camilla arrived at the double doors at the manor's front, Insight was there to hold one open for her with a flourish. The gesture may have come off as chivalry, but she was simply eager to show the place off as best she could.

"Welcome, Camilla. I appreciate your timely arrival." Insight may have had all the time in the world, but she still valued it.

Beyond her extended hand was a foyer, with a floor of polished stone cut visually into thirds by a vermilion carpet. It stretched to the next door, open and exposing a glimpse of the atrium. Breezy windows and framed paintings lined the foyer's walls, each depicting a location somewhere on Radial Island. Split staircases led to another room above.

"I've discovered that when the island calms down, we have to make our own entertainment. This is merely a replica of my treasured domain, but it should suffice for today."

"But of course. Especially if it's you sending out the request as well. Rather rare you outright text me." It was usually a personal visit or even a phone call. But a change of pace like this didn't hurt, especially with how beautiful the manor was.

"Even as a replica I can see what you mean. It's a rather extravagant place you have here. Reminds me a little bit of what we had back home. Albeit without all the negatives that came along with it."

Like dealing with being royalty. And the inability to do much without being watched for every move Camilla wanted to do.

"Is this all for yourself? Or do you have someone else living along with you?"

Lyney's smile widened as he carefully pulled her closer. Charming as he was, he leaned in to give a brief kiss in her hand before letting go, speaking loudly enough for everyone around to hear. "Nothing dangerous, I assure you. Here~" - and he fumbled through his clothes, pulling out a variety of random items, such as cards and coins, which he theatrically dropped on the floor until he found what he wanted. "Aha!" he exclaimed, then holding a small piece of rope in his hands. "What would you say if I told you I could free you even from the tightest handcuffs?" - he suggested, and the added. “Without even untying it” ~

"Without even untying it? I'd say that'd be rather impressive feat considering how impossible it might be with how tight it could be."

Although the tone of her voice said a completely different story. As if she expected such a task from the complete stranger to be rather simple. Or maybe she was just used to encounters at this point...

"But you have something secret to make the impossible happen don't you? I do hope it wasn't in that pile you dropped down there.~~" Otherwise it no doubt would've been a little awkward.

⚙ "Very astute of you. I'm not a fan of phone calls. You could try communicating with letters if you'd like?" They were preferable because she didn't need to worry about responding immediately. She could let a letter sit on her desk for a week before replying at her own leisure. She'd use a communication device when it suited her, but it hardly ever did.

"Either way, you've already made the effort of coming all the way here, and I'm not a poor host. So, come in I suppose." It was easier to just gloss over Camilla's rebuttal than to go back and forth on it.

"A traditionalist in the way of messages? I can keep that in mind for you if it makes things easier."

Though somehow Camilla had a nagging feeling in the back of her mind that she'd still take quite some time to respond. Not because it was difficult but rather to try and shake the former princess of her tail as easily and quickly as possible...

"Still do you live with anyone else? Or are you too part of the fate of roommates leaving just as quickly as the arrive." It was the one part of the city that still managed to get underneath Camilla's skin, no matter how long had passed.

"Of course you don't need to tell me if you don't want. I'm curious more then anything."

"Right, you have siblings... Yes. They are much safer where they belong... Though it is, nice to see them again briefly." He nodded.

Just encountering her was refreshing enough, she needn't stay. She shouldn't stay. But he selfishly enjoyed the brief encounter.

"Hmph. I suppose it provides some variety, "Rafal admits. He continues more gruffly. " Most were still annoying. They like to attend my private lunches uninvited, or drag me along for a so-called 'Shopping Spree" because they liked my 'Fit'. Have you experienced such nonsense?"

"I...can't say that I have been part of most of that. The shopping sure but nothing about my "fit". Whatever that meant. Maybe something she'd get a chance at someday.

"Sounds rather lively though. And even getting a compliment at the same time to boot? Seems like things are working out for you."

Or maybe she was trying to sell a better situation then the one all of them currently were in...

"Have any fun with that? The shopping I mean. I hope whoever was dragging you around had some good fashion sense about them."

Coins were important everywhere, and Lyney had quickly understood that he would need to do something to earn them there. So, for several mornings he had been performing in that park, attracting the attention of a few people who crowded around what had become his makeshift stage.

Gesturing and playing with the audience, Lyney had left his top hat on the ground, hoping to earn some money. It wasn't the first time he'd done this in his life, actually. The difference was that, there, Lynette's absence was difficult to ignore.

Still, he seemed to be having fun and, charismatic as he was, he was getting sounds of surprise and laughter here and there. "Is there anyone brave and daring here with us today, I wonder?~" Lyney said, theatrically bringing one hand close to his eyes, as if trying to see into the distance. Normally, he would choose children to help him with the tricks. But this time, his eyes were fixed on a figure impossible to ignore. "Perhaps this beautiful lady? Do you mind, ma chérie?"

He extended his hand to her, flashing a charming smile. Lyney didn't know who she was, but he felt he might be able to make some good money off her.

Even when she thought back to her younger days Camilla couldn't remember ever being picked out of a crowd for anything but political purposes. On the streets those that did know who she was wouldn't even bother out of fear of getting into deeper water with the royal family. But here everything was different. And even better was her status of noble being completely scraped away...

...Meaning a little bit of fun like this was more then possible.

"But of course~~. And what will I be helping you out with today?"

⚙ "You really are annoying, aren't you? I had you lead me home one time and now you keep visiting me unannounced." Sandrone's tone and expression didn't exactly do anything to hide her irritation while the Marionette stood in her door with one hand on the frame. She had assumed the visitor was a friend of one of her roommates and was ready to shoo them away.

But it was just Camilla again.

"You've very bad at taking hints, aren't you? That or you're trying to get under my skin."

"Oh please. Unannounced? I doubt you would've picked up the phone even if I did try to call you." Still it was "pleasant" to see that Sandrome had not changed a single day since arriving here. Although Camilla did wish she did treat her somewhat better considering the attempt at friendship in the first place...

"Now why would I try to get under your skin? And through knocking on your door of all things? Surely you and I both know there are far better methods then trying to visit."

Someone had just opened all the windows to usher in spring and felt like entertaining a guest.

Despite the cheeky comment Camilla knew exactly why Insight had sent the message. But she knew better then to deny such a request on a beautiful day like this, even if her trip to the Sky-Strewn Isles was rather distant...

"Hello there dear~~. It's been a minute since we've been able to just enjoy ourselves like this hasn't it? Without the weight of this entire city trying to crash down upon us."

Its head inclines in a single nod at her suggestion.

"DOING THINGS AS THEY'RE NEEDED AND NOTICED IS WORKABLE. IF EITHER OF US REQUIRES HELP WE CAN LEAVE A NOTE."

They add "get pencils and a notepad for the kitchen" to their mental checklist. If nothing else it would also prove useful for in-household communication with them being unlikely to have the same schedule.

"IS THERE ANYTHING IMMEDIATELY PRESSING TO BE DONE, BEFORE I INVESTIGATE THE ROOMS?"

Might as well check with the current resident what the expectations are, before running off. It'd secure its position here soon enough, but for now, best not upset the status quo even as friendly as she may seem.

"ONCE I AM UNPACKED I PLAN TO CHECK THE KITCHEN AND SEE IF THERE IS ANYTHING LACKING FOR MY PREFERENCES AND THEN EXPLORE THIS WARD'S SHOPPING OPPORTUNITIES."

Sure, they had some familiarity with the mall, but for groceries they'd never strayed far from their own residence, so learning again as soon as possible was a priority, before there was even a chance of pressure.

And it at least seemed things weren't going to be too difficult to work with. Which was good, the last thing a house like this needed was something so stupid yet still could've been solved with a simple conversation or two. But at the very least that didn't seem like it'd be an issue with the new resident...

"Not that I'm aware of. Though feel free to take your time doing your little search too. There's no at rush at all even for the food situation." Which it at least was brought up right now then later on. Something Camilla didn't quite know how to ask without sounding too all over the place.

"Although what do you eat? It's not just like oil and that right? I could make you something specific if you are going to be busy enough not to make it yourself."

SO THEY DON'T TALK BACK, a strange difference between those dragons and wyverns she knew compared to this particular one. turning her gaze toward the lady, she takes note that she must be the handler fully and not just a friendly face, if not both. ❝ I see... ❞ her response is quieter this time, having gotten the answer she was seeking with relative ease, even if she could have deduced it herself if left with enough time.

still, she turns towards the woman fully, figuring it was best to communicate with her rather than the wyvern going forward. after all, she would hardly be able to comprehend it as she was now...

❝ Yes. Most dragons from my home could speak to those beyond their kind. While I did not have any dragon companions of my own, our history is full of such instances... ❞ including the one who reigned over her siblings long ago. ❝ Is there any reason that your own do not? I had not thought that there would be such a difference, even between worlds. ❞

"That must be something to behold for sure." Any dragons from her world that could have done that had long since been gone. And the ones that did still exist were dealt with thanks to everyone's efforts in the first place. Although she did wonder if the ones from her world were far more communicative then Camilla's...

"I wouldn't be able to tell you dear. Dragons are rather fickle individuals. And while we do have their blood in our veins only one of us can really truly be one of them in the first place. If it sounds complicated its because it is somewhat. At least compared to what you are telling me..."

He has succeeded at small talk without fleeing. Good. He can leave this encounter without feeling he slighted her more than he already had transitively.

" Right, I heard of that. I have been learning they can't help but to meddle with our lives every few months. Like toys." He clicks his tongue with barely concealed frustration.

"Hm... Most have only baffled or frustrated me," he answers. " But... I suppose there were some I did not hate speaking with. Many who are powerful or passionate."

"I did briefly find one I knew, Veyle, but she has since returned to Elyios. For the best, perhaps." It would do the young dragon more good to remain in the company of her friends and allies.

"Ah I know the feeling. I've had some of my siblings show up and return back to their home as well. It's...not the greatest thing to have to experience but I believe you are right. The company at home is far better then being here..."

At least she hoped it was. Maybe things had changed yet again while Camilla was trapped out in this world without anyway of anyone knowing she was here in the first place...

"Still I understand your frustrations. And glad you are finding some to give some attention too as well. Even that little bit can help some get through the days here."
