★ A few things about this blog and interacting with me ★
Since I apparently have a Tumblr now, I figured I should probably establish a few boundaries before chaos inevitably happens. Nothing too complicated—mostly just be respectful and remember that there's a human being behind the account.
★ Asks & Messages
Asks are always welcome, whether they're anonymous or not! Just remember to write exactly what you want answered because I'm autistic and can't read between the lines.
You can send me messages and talk to me casually too, although I'd prefer to keep things mostly related to me being a fanfic writer rather than getting too personal.
I may not answer every ask or message, though. Sometimes I won't know how to respond, sometimes I won't have the energy, and sometimes I'll simply choose not to engage. Please don't take that personally.
★ Fic Requests & Updates
Fic requests are welcome! I can't promise I'll write them, but I'm always happy to hear what people would like to see.
What I don't appreciate is being pressured about updates or chapters. I have a life outside of being a fanfic author, and sometimes life gets in the way of writing.
So please don't repeatedly ask when something is going to be updated, demand a chapter, or make me feel guilty for not writing.
Being patient and respectful goes a long way. ♥
★ Feedback & Criticism
Constructive criticism is welcome as long as it's actually constructive and respectful. I'm not a native English speaker, so if you notice that a phrase sounds unnatural, awkward, or simply wrong, PLEASE tell me! I genuinely appreciate that kind of feedback.
That said, giving me criticism doesn't mean I'll necessarily implement it. I may agree with you, I may disagree, or I may decide that I simply prefer my original choice.
Please don't give me unsolicited writing advice or criticism, especially if it's not constructive.
Negative comments are a little trickier. You're allowed to dislike something, of course, but there's a big difference between "this wasn't really my thing" and being unnecessarily rude about it.
★ Ships & Fandom
I'm a multishipper, so you're welcome to talk to me about pretty much any ship (I do have my favorites, though).
There are, however, some things I don't want to engage with, including ships/content involving rape, non-consensual situations, pedophilia, incest, and certain kinks (especially ones that blur lines).
And please, please don't send me ship hate.
You don't have to like the same ships I do. If you see something you dislike, you can simply pretend it doesn't exist. You don't need to come to my inbox to tell me how terrible a ship is.
Disagreement is fine when it's respectful and there's actually something worth discussing. Ship wars and hostility are not.
As for the fandom... I currently only write for the Undertale fandom. You can, however, ask me to write for another fandom—but be aware that I may refuse—so try to keep stories requests limited to the fandom/fandoms I like and have written for already.
★ NSFW
NSFW discussion is okay within reasonable boundaries.
I'm asexual, so while I can read graphic content, I'm not particularly comfortable writing extremely graphic sexual content myself. I am okay with writing smut (sexual intimacy with feelings overwriting the porn itself? Delicious), but it will usually be not graphic/milder than straight porn. Be aware of this.
I am also okay with seeing NSFW fanart and getting written stuff of the same caliber as a gift fic.
Please also keep in mind that I'm autistic, and double meanings/innuendos can genuinely go straight over my head. I don't mind them—I just might not understand what you're trying to say. Don't take any of this personally.
★ Reblogs & Reposts
Reblogging my Tumblr posts is absolutely fine! Please just don't claim my work as your own.
Please do not:
• Repost my fics somewhere else;
• Screenshot and repost my writing;
• Copy my work and upload it elsewhere;
• Claim my writing as yours.
Please give credit where credit is due.
★ Fanworks & Fanart
YES. PLEASE. GIVE ME ALL OF THEM.
Fanart? Absolutely.
Edits? Yes.
Memes? PLEASE.
Posts about my characters? Delicious.
Moodboards? I would love to see them.
Playlists? Yes.
Theories and headcanons? YES.
Quoting my fic? Absolutely—just credit me.
Please tag me in these things whenever possible because I genuinely want to see them. Making something inspired by my fic and then hiding it from me would be a crime./Joking.
If you'd like to translate one of my fics, that's okay! I'd just like you to send me the translated version so I can add it to the original fic's author notes. Please clearly state that it is a translation, identify the original work/author, and link to the original fic.
Translation ≠ rewriting it as your own.
If you want to give me a gift fanfic, that's also completely fine! Again, just warn me and send me the work so I can see it.
★ Personal Boundaries
I like keeping my personal life separate from my fanfic-author life.
Please don't ask for:
• My real name;
• My location;
• Personal information I'm not already sharing publicly;
• My other social media accounts.
Asking any of these automatically allows me to ignore your question/refuse answering. I will tell things when I want to, and not because you pressured me.
As far as social media goes, I have Tumblr and AO3. If you find an account somewhere else using my username, assume it isn't me unless I have explicitly linked it here.
As for "Why haven't you posted?"—you can ask, but please remember that I don't owe anyone an explanation. I may choose to give one, but that's my choice.
★ Finally: Boundaries Are Boundaries
I'm not interested in policing what other people enjoy. You do you, I'll do me, and hopefully we can all coexist peacefully.
But if I tell you that something makes me uncomfortable, please respect it.
If someone repeatedly ignores my boundaries after being told to stop, I will block them. That's not meant as a personal attack or a declaration of war. It's simply me deciding that I don't want that interaction in my space.
Basically:
Be respectful. Don't pressure me. Don't steal my work. Don't send me things I've said I don't want. Have fun!
And please remember that I'm here because I love writing and talking about fictional characters. Let's keep it fun.
♥
