"Joyce Byers, will you spend the rest of your life with a tired, grumpy, stubborn old man who loves you very much?" "Yes, I will."
Can we just take a moment to appreciate Winona Ryder here? She is so expressive in all her scenes, it made my heart ache with everything her character had gone through in this series and now you can just feel the joy radiating off her in this scene. Man, I felt this in my soul.
I still canât believe we got to see Jim Hopper cue up a band to play At Last so he could propose to Joyce.
That is probably the most unapologetically romantic thing Iâve ever witnessed from one of my favorite ships.
As someone who watched Game of Thrones and felt nothing but numb when that show rapped up, I canât help but marvel at how Stranger Things has done exact opposite to me; I actually find Iâm having a hard time expressing the range of emotions I feel after finishing the finale.
To be able to cry watching a show, to cheer out loud at the victories, to laugh, to feel a deep sense of pride over the growth of fictional characters⌠I was left feeling almost overwhelmed and with a deep sense of loss that this show was over; That our journey with these wonderful characters was done. Itâs the same way I feel watching Lord of the Rings and itâs remarkable the Duffer brothers were able to accomplish that.
Bravo to everyone involved with making this show happen! The message about being true to yourself, having hope, and coming together in community was the exact message we need right now.
someone tell them theyâre getting married and moving to montauk and will is happy and alive and everythingâs gonna be okay.
I rewatched the entire show before the final season and I just keep thinking about the scene in season 1 where Joyce finally kicks Lonnie out of her life for good after he accuses her of being crazy and then, in the very next scene with her, Hopper shows up at her house and tells her he believes her.
Literally the perfect start to this ship and the perfect ending.
JOPPER!!!!!! â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
Iâve never been anti-ship, but the Byler fans are basically choking out any space for the actual Stranger things fans to enjoy this series.
Guys, I know youâre bummed out, but you need to realize there is a whole show with a storyline, other characters, and other ships that other people want to talk about without having your ship shoved down their throats, constantly.
Let the rest of us fucking enjoy the finale.

Star Wars fans express frustration at Disney execs for canceling Adam Driver's Ben Solo sequel, taking their protest to the skies over Disne
COLLIDER: A galaxyâs worth of frustration just went airborne. In the latest twist following Adam Driverâs shocking revelation about his canceled Star Wars sequel, fans have taken matters into their own hands â literally flying a plane over Disney Studios with a banner reading: âSave The Hunt for Ben Solo.â
Actually so touched by Serious Film Man Adam Driver caring so very much about Ben Solo that he tried to get Ben brought back.
He could have just moved on and distanced himself (and we thought he did). Continued working on Big Serious Important Films with Artsy Serious Directors, and ignored the messy franchise stuff.
It may be one of his best and most heartfelt performances (his best, in my opinion) but it's not very prestige.
Yet no. He genuinely cares enough about Ben to have tried to give him back to the story. Enough to once have wanted a 'sentimental and obvious' conclusion for Rey and Ben, to quote that old interview. Enough to get a director and a script together and to pitch it, enough for DLF yo get behind it, and with a title that sounds mythological and questy and interesting.
I'm a bit devastated that we could have gotten it and didn't. Very, very touched that he cares that much though.
Adam Driver pitched a Kylo Ren 'Star Wars' movie with Steven Soderbergh, but Disney shut it down.
Weâre going to have to Deadpool this one into existence, arenât we?
Igerâs like, âSorry Adam, we canât make a movie about Ben Solo because we need to give a trilogy to Dan and David, because theyâre such good storytellersâ.
I really like that Valentina sort of represents an evolved Carol: sheâs healed, content, and grounded. Sheâs got a freedom to her that Carol is still working on. I think thatâs why Carol connected to her instantly and why she seems to be taking what Valentina says to heart.
I like her.
If she gets killed off I might riot.
wtf is this supposed to mean
I loved Carol seamlessly slipping into her cheery facade with Julian and giving Daryl the âSTFUâ look when he didnât play along. Get in the game, bro!
Maggie & Negan: A F*cked-Up Dynamic That Makes Too Much Sense
Once upon a time, my dadâa hardcore TWD universe fanâsuggested I watch Dead City. Apparently, in our relationship, Iâm the grumpy traditionalist who clings to the original series and side-eyes anything new. But I gave it a shot. Â
Letâs be real: the plot? Not great. And I wouldnât have made it through if not for Maggie and Negan. Jesus Christ, those two grabbed me by the throat and refused to let go. Let's address the walker in the room: Yes, I'm emotionally invested in the dynamic between a widow and her husband's killer. No, I don't need therapy (probably). Listen. Iâm not saying itâs healthy. Iâm saying itâs fascinating. And itâs not just because Negan aka Jeffrey is a stud whoâd make a killer power couple with Maggie (though, yes!). Itâs because their chemistry is electric, layered, and earned. Years of buildup, trauma, and twisted interdependence make their dynamic fascinating. Their relationship isnât about romanceâitâs about obsession, survival, and the f*cked-up ways grief binds people together. Iâm obsessed, so hereâs my take on #Neggie for anyone who cares. Â
Why It Couldnât Have Happened Sooner Â
Some fans try to force them together right after Glennâs death, or during All Out War. Thatâs not just unrealisticâitâs impossible.Â
That first year? Maggie wasn't just grievingâshe was haunted. Every glance at Negan was Glenn's last moments replaying on loop. Even years later, she still couldnât look at him without seeing Glennâs bashed-in skull. But by Dead City, something shifts. Sheâs had years to sit with her rage, and instead of fading, itâs mutated. It's no longer white-hot rageâit's a cold, calculating obsession that's kept her alive longer than any weapon ever could.
Negan was hyperfixated on Rickâtheir war, their rivalry. Maggie was barely on his radar. Post-war Negan was still a narcissistâhis redemption was performative. He helped people, sure, but mostly to prove he could. And Maggie? He sees her as a living monument to his sins.
This Isnât a Love Story (And It Never Will Be)Â Â
Maggie and Neganâs bond isnât about romance. Itâs about being the only two people who truly see each other. Â
Think about it: every person Maggie has ever loved is gone. Glenn. Beth, parents, the farm. Hershel (physically present but emotionally galaxies away). Even Rick's group are just memories now.
Negan is the only living archive of her pain. The man sheâs spent years obsessing over. Her vengeance is her anchor. If she killed him, sheâd be hollow. If she killed him, she'd erase the last witness to her grief. Worseâshe loses the purpose that's fueled her survival.
Negan never had real connectionsânot in the Sanctuary, where he was feared, not worshipped. Not until Carl, Judith, and later Annie. But Maggie? Sheâs always been in his head, a ghost of guilt and unfinished business. Â
He's spent years trying to outrun his past, but Maggie is his past. Notice how he never truly fights back against Maggie's manipulation. He wants her to punish him because he thinks he deserves it. That's why he follows her into hell without protest.
Theyâre stuck in this twisted codependency, and Iâm fascinated by it. Â
TL;DR: Theyâre toxic, tragic, and the most compelling duo in TWD right now. Fight me.  Anyone else weirdly invested in these two?  Â
All of this!
And I really love the idea that they embody that whole concept, when it comes to grief, that you canât avoid it or jump past it, you have to work through it.
*no spoilers*
Dead City finale didnât go down exactly how I thought it would, but Iâm cool with that ending. They built up to it really well and it definitely felt earned.
