IT’S SWEET FAT OF THE HOG TUESDAY!!
You can only reblog this today! Next time Thursday 20 will follow Wednesday 19 will be in 2439!
HOLY SHIT ITS WEDNESDAY THE 19TH TODAY FUCK
Watched Mousey’s video and heard her voice break. YOU DONE FUCKED UP VSHOJO. 🤬🔪
GET OUTTA HERE WITH UR FAKE PR BULLSHIT
The fact Gunrun went to state he "didn't know" the money raised by Ironmouse was meant for charity until much later is just fucking abstruse because OF COURSE! WHO HASN'T FUCKING MISTAKENLY FUNDED THEIR COMPANY AND COVERED EXPENSES WITH 500K OF DONATIONS MEANT FOR IMMUNODEFICIENCY RESEARCH?!
THAT 11 MILLION MEANT FOR OUR VTUBER TALENT POOL?! UHHHHH JUST ACCIDENTALLY PLOPPED IT IN THE LAMBO FUND! OOPSIE DOODLES! BUT HEY, ALL'S GOOD, WE COOL, RIGHT?!
I'll give Gunrun this - man's got some big brass balls. (Possibly even polished to the nth degree.)
'Cause it takes somethin' REAL special to just openly and blatantly admit to embezzlement the way he did.
Question for anyone who is in the modern, meta scene of Yu-Gi-Oh;
If all the currently banned/limited cards were suddenly unbanned and unlimited, what would the gaming scene look like?
Given how fast paced it is these days, I'm curious about this.
Also, if doing this wouldn't slow things down to the way the game used to be, what would need to happen to do that?
Honestly, were everything unbanned and unlimited, I think Exodia would be meta for about a week, then the meta would shift to a combination of Ishizu Tear, Ryzeal, Maliss, and MAYBE Tenpai or some flavor of Dragon Link. Perhaps some Kashtira as a somewhat anti-meta pick, and Dragon Rulers when the new support hits state-side assuming it doesn't immediately become part of Dragon Link.
As for what would slow the game down "to the way it used to be" - that would be banning... literally every card made from Cybernetic Revolution onward alongside the current banlist hits to cards from the GOAT era. This is, of course, ignoring that "how Yugioh used to be" for 90% of people that complain that the game is too fast nowadays is playing the card game on the playground as a child with next to no understanding of how the cards actually work and trying to emulate Duelist Kingdom and Battle City specifically.
One of the things that sucks about being an animation nerd is having to live with the fact that, from a technical standpoint, the Hotel Transylvania movies are absolutely ground-breakingly staggeringly incredible.
As completely ignorant on animation, why is that? How is Hotel Transylvania any good??
The short version is that they’ve been figuring out how to plug the strengths of traditional animation into cg animation.
Longer version: cg animation is essentially puppet animation. You build a model, paint it and dress it up, and then move it around. That’s why Pixar’s first animated film was about toys, and their second one was about bugs: it’s much harder to make something look convincingly soft and fleshy than it is to work with something that’s supposed to be rigid.
Working inside this paradigm, the progression that makes sense is to work on developing more and more articulated puppets. Figure out how to add fur (Monsters, Inc.), move fish (Finding Nemo), get to the point where you can actually make human puppets who look appealing (The Incredibles.) In 2012 the big animated feature films showed off huge strides in particle physics (The Guardians), and hair (Tangled, Brave). Character effects and lighting were really hitting their stride, and the general movement was towards more detailed models, increased realism, richer and more intricate environments. The models only had so much range before they started to break, so squash & stretch was never going to be as pronounced as something from drawn animation could be. Hotel Transylvania challenged that.
As a show creator and director, Genndy Tartakovsky’s always shown a preference for stylization. He’s also got a reputation for incredible and deliberate timing, spectacular silhouettes, dramatic movement and clear staging, and just overall really good at directing animation. He wanted Tex Avery-type animation in CG and by golly, he did it.
Look at how exaggerated those shapes are, and how snappy, smooth, and fast the transitions between each one: that’s not something that was really being done. The motion-blurring alone was so defining that apparently Sony calls it a “Genndy blur.”
Animation is essentially the art of movement: the better the movement, the better the animation, and the Hotel Transylvania franchise has spectacular movement.
The model is actually being resculpted for maximum exaggeration, and the smears and blurs make the transitions between each pose fast, energetic, and snappy.
Like. Look at that movement. Look at how tightly he’s rooted while the follow through of his clothing sells the hard stop of each hip bump. Look at how sharp and deep his knees are bending, the way his weight shifts onto his heels and that tiny little side step at the very end, where he keeps his weight on his right foot for a split second before popping over to his new position. And he’s dancing the Macarena because he had to find the most brain-dominating, toe-tappingist song in the universe to win a DJ battle where a Kraken was being driven into a murderous rage by a mystical melody and it had to be counteracted by another song.
Yeah.
Somebody once described the Hotel Transylvania franchise as “like seeing Lamborghini making a clown car,” and honestly, that’s kind of what it’s like.
I think it's very funny that a lot of the writing choices in Veilguard can be boiled down to, "We desperately fear causing the kind of discourse our previous games have." As if they could prevent that. As if finding things to argue over and get offended by isn't the internet favorite pastime. And don't get me wrong, that may nit have been the actual writers' choice at all, like that actively could have been EA interference and I would believe it. I just genuinely think it is funny that they clearly wanted to avoid it and it is happening regardless.
As much as I'd love to agree that Veilguard's writing is EA's fault, this IS Bioware (specifically post-2017 Bioware) we're talking about.
Besides, Anthem stands as a prime example that EA isn't always the source of the problem.
Fandom Problem #6381:
When a failed actress gains fame for being a victim of lesbophobic attacks. Then CCTV footage is released that shows she staged the attacks herself.
Ah, yes. The Smollet Gambit. Bold move for 'em, Cotton, let's see how it plays out.
Both gaining and losing hope that Metaphor Refantazio will say something new/interesting about religion.
So far the official state religion, Sanctism, is the typical only-opinion-allowed-at-Atlus take on organized religion, where it's all the worst elements throughout history crammed together and that's the end of it. They even went as far as to make the prayer gesture covering one's eyes with both hands-gee, I wonder if that symbolizes blind faith? So far, so formulaic, right? Well, yes...but also not entirely. See, I randomly decided to do the activity that raises your Tolerance stat(it's just like persona where you have 5 characteristic stats, only they're called kingly virtues instead), and the NPC offering it was of a tribe that has it's own religion. It started off typical enough, with a description of how the Sanctist church denounced them as pagans, but then something interesting happened. The NPC stated that his tribe's faith was exclusive to them, while Sanctism could be followed by members of every tribe which was, in his words, "a problem". A religion being mutli-ethnic is... a problem? And then it hit me-I'm increasing my Tolerance stat. Tolerance-as in, tolerating other viewpoints that you don't immediately agree with. I'd expected just a simple overview of the tribe's culture followed by more lines about how awful all this discrimination is and wouldn't it be nice if that wasn't happening, but no, Atlus actually went the extra mile and made the dialogue fit.
I'm sure if I keep going with this guy I'll get to the inevitable "there are no right/easy answers" conclusion, but getting there by showing a viewpoint that your average joe would normally be adverse to both humanizes this nameless NPC(yes, I know that "human" means something else in Metaphor, I just can't think of a better term) by assigning him a somewhat intolerant viewpoint while simultaneously not denouncing him for it, because all tolerance has to start somewhere and in this world it's pretty much gotta start from absolute zero: with everyone hating everyone else, someone has to be the first to break the cycle and say "ok, you may be judging me by my tribe and faith, but I'm not going to judge you for the same things because that's always the wrong thing to do even if I've been a victim of it in the past". I'm still wary about this whole idea of the Elda tribe being condemned directly by Sanctist scripture(it really seems like there's no point to it beyond Atlus grinding its eternal axe against religion), but I'm not even past the first dungeon yet and we've already gotten deeper into morality and religion than almost any other Atlus game I can think of.
"final fantasy didn't do the fight god plotline until X onward"
That is some revisionist bullshit, lemme tell ya'.
Even putting aside the fact that nearly every main villain in Final Fantasy pre-X had acquiring godlike power of some description as either their main ambition or as the means to then achieve their main ambition (the only exceptions being Garland who still ended up commandeering a time loop scenario for an untold amount of time and Emperor Mateus who merely wanted to conquer the world and, after the heroes killed him, got to add literal Heaven and Hell to his command), there is still one pre-X Final Fantasy game that is explicitly "fight and dethrone God" in plotline.
That being VI.
Y'know. The game where the main villain quite literally ascended to godhood halfway through the story and started murdering everything for kicks?
So Kob, any thoughts on the Class of 09 deal?
What happened?
From my understanding: "Fans of extremely edgy shock humor visual novel shocked and offended that the extremely edgy shock humor visual novel turned out to be extremely extremely edgy and full of shock humor."
From what I've seen, it's more "Fans of extremely edgy shock humor visual novel ship a pair of girls together despite the noted problems the relationship would have even in-universe to the point of pissing off the dev who then writes the worst possible ending for both characters out of spite for aforementioned shippers."
But this is with me refusing to go near that bullshit with a 20m pole, so I admit it could be inaccurate.

Hey, wasn't a scene or two in Goncharov shot there?
I like how every boss theme from the Revengeance soundtrack has that moment that makes you want to belt out the lyrics as you slice all your enemies into chutney

In USA if you insult their jingoistic toy commercials you are forced by the secret police of overgrown toddlers known as Der Fandöm to grovel in suppliance before their capitalist idols
But she was right she was so right!!!
But the fandom agrees the movies are bad. That's why there's so many fewer butts in seats. It's the corporate media who's mad on behalf of Hollywood and Disney.
The establishment has been blaming the fans for hating the movies so much, can you really turn around and say those same fans are the ones disagreeing with that sentiment now just because she said it?
Considering how Borderlands is being lambasted for being terrible right now, I think contrary to OP's cringe-ass Pretentious commie spew, JLC is taking the L for her mouth writing checks she couldn't cash.
Heartbreaking news: Woman playing lead role in bad movie makes valid point about other movie franchise, gets flamed by people who have spent years making the exact same point.
The most painful experience imaginable is watching a streamer ignore the tutorial in a video game and then complain about shit that was already explained to them not working.
You can say DarkSydePhil.
Sure, Arin Hanson qualifies too, but DSP stumbled so he could fumble.
Fandom Problem #5045:
Company: Well this show seems to be doing very well, it has a steadily growing fanbase, a ton of glowing reviews and everyone seems to love it! I wonder what we should do with it...
Company 5 mins later: Let's cancel it after 1 season! That's sounds like a perfectly sound decision!
Tail as old as time...
Many such cases.
