people hate women for real lol it crazy. you'll say that and then people will be like "I don't hate women. I just hate it when they're always whining about things that only affect women? it's fine that they're here on earth and I like it when they're quiet but when they try to talk about stuff it's so annoying?? like why are you complaining all the time and why do you think you're special and why don't you ever want to talk about men?? like they really are so awful and horrible to be around but I don't hate them" and then they want you to go "oh okay! totally"

i think something a lot of people don't get is that years of mocking your child, even in jest, does in fact tend to get under their skin
a decade or two of even light verbal harassment is very much accentuated when it's an authority figure you are in every meaningful way subservient to
How the heck do I heal an intercoastal muscle strain if every time I cough/laugh/sneeze/have any kind of diaphragm movement, I re-aggravate it?
You know, when I've remarked that a lot of the responses to my posts feel like people are just plucking out keywords they think they recognise based on the shape of them and replying to what they imagine the post says based on that, the possibility never occurred to me that this is actually how many American schools are currently teaching kids to read.
Like, my assumption this whole time has been that when folks go "I misunderstood this post that says [thing] as saying [unrelated thing] because I mistook [word] for [completely different word that happens to start with the same letter]", that was a bit. What do you mean they're teaching kids a reading method that's tailored to produce this exact error?
Three cueing. Once you learn about it, a whole lot of very frustrating online discourse with US Americans makes so much sense 😭
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have

people with medical issues are not “putting a strain on the medical system”. that’s what the medical system is for. yes this includes people with substance use related medical issues and other people considered “undeserving” of help
“putting a strain on the medical system” = politicians
“fool quail (for its behavior)” ok… rude
"what if someone regrets transitioning" if you are 18 or over in free country usa you can walk into any tattoo parlor and ask for a tattoo that will be on your body forever and ever and ever and they will give it to you with the understanding that if you dont like the result or you regret it later that's your fucking problem and not theirs
oh so you agree, anyone under the age of 18 shouldn’t medically transition, same way minors can’t consent to tattoos? interesting.
almost every detransitioner i know started transitioning under 18. did you know autistic children have some of the highest detransition rates?
also, typically, most young adults don’t have their whole social media feed encouraging them to get a tattoo AS SOON AS POSSIBLE or else they’ll DIE. also tattoo removal is a lot different to recovering from hormones and mastectomies
A play in three acts
As silly as this is, it shows that TRAs don't really believe their own rhetoric, all the "X is anyone who identifies as X", "sex is on a spectrum" and "you shouldn't define people by their genitals" immediately evaporates when an AFAB transwoman comes at them. Suddenly they are fully aware that humans are a sexually dimorphic species and language needs to reflect this.
It's why trying to deconstruct their arguments and explain to them why they are wrong is such a waste of time. They already know, they just don't care.
"Female socialization" and "sex based oppression" are just a cover for privileged women to act like they are in the same situation as women in places like Afghanistan, despite their race, wealth, ethnicity and the laws of their state.
"FGM is happening to females!"
You are a female so did it happen to you? No, it is actually banned in your country and you share zero of the violence those girls who actually suffered.
Did you actually get socialized like that? No, you were never forced to cover your head. Your family supported your education.
Many of the sex based events and oppression you describe change through time, place, race, culture, laws, wealth... and other socioeconomic metrics.
Typical man who is unaware that fgm and being forced to wear hijab happens here in the u.s.
men LOVE telling women that they should just be grateful that they aren't treated even worse. "just be glad that i let you vote! just be glad i didn't punch you too!"
like fucking stop pretending it's a PRIVILEGE that a handful of women in the west aren't treated like absolute dogs in their day-to-day lives, or that at least some of their very basic human rights are respected to an extent. stop fucking pretending that we don't have anything in common with mistreated women. and stop fucking pretending that you even know what's actually happening in our lives.
if an individual woman has not experienced female genital mutilation in her life, she still knows it happens to other women and girls solely because of their sex. it is a mere COINCIDENCE that it's not her. and as long as such practices exist somewhere else, she is not free. she is more than entitled to talk about it, to scream about it as long as she thinks is necessary.
you do not fucking get to silence her.
