guess i should say, while i've been immobile, have found and been watching a lot of Euro Brady's stuff on Youtube. may be of interest for those who like Dan's tangents or mental health related content, dude is a therapist in his day job. Mouthwashing was the first lp of that game i'd seen, and i think dealt with it a bit more thoughtfully than some others
September 20, 21, 2025 - Protesters against the historically unpopular Dina Boluarte government have been clashing with riot police in the streets of Lima, Peru. [video]
The excerpt paragraph made me look up and stare at my wife for three solid minutes waiting for them to return to the couch. I couldn’t move on with my life. I had to read it aloud to them to their audible disgust and then they read all the comments with unbridled delight.
tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"
this guy started out poking fun at australian politicians and ended up investigating the firebombing of his own home, during which he uncovered connections between the same politician he was making fun of + major organized crime
JasperDasper started out just curious why everything had suddenly become about trans people and questioning some of the sources used in a book. He came out of it, 4 years later, with a 5 hour long video that connects all transphobia to less than 60 people. (I'm not joking. literally every single transphobic rhetoric and bill passed is because of these 50 or so people.)
If you wanna watch it I cannot recommend it enough; I just warn that it covers a LOT.
The Surreal Disney Cartoon That Inspired Fever Dream Episodes of 'Futurama' & 'Ted Lasso'
How not one, but two important series used the same obscure Disney cartoon to reach a narrative point.
A truly whackadoo episode that only the brilliant maniacs over at Futurama can cook up.
“It’s a very experimental episode,” said showrunner and writer David X. Cohen. “So that is one of the most interesting episodes of the year. It’s called ‘The Numberland Gap,’ but it was inspired at Matt Groening’s suggestion by this old Disney cartoon, Donald in Mathmagic Land, where Donald Duck creeps through this land of numbers and has adventures. And he wanted us to do a version of that, but with more actual math in it, as opposed to vague references to how math is important to architecture.
“He said, ‘You guys do something like that, but with real math,'” recalled Cohen. “It sounds kind of hard, but we’re up for the challenge. So our crew goes into a land inhabited entirely by numbers.”
I work at a pretty typical data entry company and there’s monthly employee spotlight emails that go out to everyone in the company just like who are you what do you do what are you hobbies what do you look like
At my supervisor’s insistence I added this as one of the my photos that, again, went around the company of maybe 150 people
With the caption “this is what happens when you don’t empty your lint trap”
Within 20 minutes of that email going out I had 7 women from my company contact me to tell me how much they like my photos.
Zero men.
