You may have heard that Israel hasn’t been allowing nearly as many aid trucks in as they were supposed to. As a result, prices in Gaza are still high, especially in the north, and Rawan’s family hasn’t felt much relief from the ceasefire.

While they aren’t starving to death, they’re all malnourished from eating one meal a day consisting only of canned tuna and canned beans. It’s especially bad for little Soso, who’s just turned 5 and has her growth stunted by the lack of nutrients. The adults sometimes sacrifice their meal to buy a fruit for her. The whole family is unhealthy and has to make regular trips to the doctor.
