Cyber Monday trumps Black Friday across the board!
'Tis the season for record-breaking deals, online and in-store. Cyber Monday is expected to give Black Friday a run for its money again this year. If last year's $2.29 billion in Cyber Monday sales is any indication, 2014 should be a home run for online retailers!
Not only are brick-and-mortar establishments limited to their back-of-the-house stock but they typically require patrons to wear pants. The beauty of Cyber Monday (aside from No Pants Hour) is the ability of online retailers to update deals throughout the day as opposed to the ad-scan ball-and-chain pop-up shops must endure. The online retail blowout saves customers an average of 10-14% more than Black Friday deals alone.
There are exceptions to every rule, however. According to Matt Granite, The Deal Guy of USA Today, anyone in the market for gaming bundles or TVs or appliances should just suck it up, pack a snack & hit the pavement on Black Friday because Cyber Monday surprisingly doesn't have a leg up in those departments.
Of course, it all comes down to a battle of the almighty dollar & the almighty bird. Thanksgiving Day, traditionally, offers the most fiscally responsible bang for your buck... But if you're out shopping, then who's going to baste the turkey?? Solution: Spend November 27th surrounded by friends & family & pie then hop online December 1st for the most productive "Add to Cart" marathon of your life!
