Oogway happened to smack the food away just as Kai went to bite down on it, and to the bovines dismay.. his teeth greeted his tongue. Sandwiching the flesh between the bones. And my, did it hurt. Perhaps that was the universes’ way of punishing him for fraudulent accusations.
He landed with ease, but now his tongue was bleeding. Kai slurped down his red saliva, and wiped what little bit trinkled from his lip.
❝ … Well… ❞
Kai placed his hooves on his hips as he watched the item disappear into the horizon. Swishing his tail to help take his mind of the throbbing feeling in not only his hoof, but now his tongue as well.
❝ I guess I’ll have to wait for the next vile thing that crosses my path. ❞
If he wanted to twitch his eye a little, he could bit he kept his composure just still. Ugh will he learn!?
He instead internally screamed in his mind.
“Does it ever cross your mind what you eats makes you feel inside and outside emotionally and physically? And something like that could put an huge difference on you mentally!?”

Of course Kai was feigning, he just wanted to eat the item simply because he could. The same reson someone would swallow a flaming pepper or down a batch of nordic mead. Simply because they haven’t tried it before, or for an experience. He was using the universe as an excuse, figuring it would work since Oogway often dabbled in the theory.
Kai finally struck his hoof at the item, and flung it in the air before catching it on his knee. Then bouncing it into the air once more.
It was hard to tell if he really wanted to consume this item, or if he simply wanted to find an excuse to taunt Oogway. It has been harsh lately, all the seriousness the reality of war brought. And it felt a bit nice to loosen up every so often. Which was queer, usually Kai was the stern stick in the mud.
❝ You wouldn’t dare stop me from a Universal challenge, would you, brother. ❞
Just as it looked like he was about to accept his death eating the disgusting over due... food that Kai was about to Eat. Oogway quickly twirled his staff and smacked it away from his mouth as the moldy thing was miles and miles away from the two of them.
“You’ll thank me later~” he spoke.

Kai jolted his arm back, and shook his hoof. Well that stung.
❝ Oh come on, Oogway, what was that for? It can’t be too bad. That stick of yours does more harm than this little… thing.. could. ❞
Kai dwelled on rather to reach for it again or not, but figured he’d just get wacked again.
“You would eat that small moldy thing, that could be just as deadly as a scorpions sting?”
Oogway was real concerned about Kai’s immune system and taste buds on why he would eat such a thing in the first place!

Kai narrowed his eyes at the potentially toxic item, and allowed his hoof to hover over it. For a moment or two, he contemplated if he should ingest it or not. He didn’t even know what it was.
❝ I doubt it’d make me sick. I mean, I’ve had worse, right? ❞
He smacked his hand with his staff like lightning and glared at him.
“Don’t.” He spoke a little too sternly.
