i actually never thought when i was a teen that i would go to a pride event with my parents, especially not while being truly open about my identity. but they tagged along this year and my dad got an ally pin he's been wearing and my mom got a tshirt. like my parents definitely still suck in a lot of ways and our relationship is strained but theyve made more progress on the queer acceptance part that i couldve ever possibly imagined. i wish i could go back in time and tell baby trans me this and tell them its gonna be okay
